If you like overflow keep it if not you can always use spycobra.

Do you have any experience playing original ps2 games with spy cobra 4.85? Yesterday I tried to play an original ps2 disc on my PS3 compatible 60GB PS3, but when I selected the disc in xmb, the screen became black, and the controller disconnected(I know this is normal after launching a ps2 game) and I couldn't reconnect, Just black screen.
Could some of you try launching a ps2 game on a ps2 compatible model, just to see if it is working?

I installed 4.84.1 rebug lite, now emulation works, USB ports, too, so it uses the partially hardware emulatopn mode, not the full software emulation. (it is a CECHC model, so everything looks perfect now)

Hold your horses, its not easy as its seems, first of all you need a DEX Debug Firmware in order to make an updated version of Rebug, and Debug Firmwares are not easy to acquire, is not click & download, you need a reliable source for that.

All the 4.85 CFWs you see on the scene are all CEX Based with they're CoreOS Patched, these are not DEX in any shape or form, this is why Rebug takes longer, and also quality assurance, Rebug Team doesn't tolerate bugs or incompatibilities, they are the Ferrari's of CFW, a flawless piece of software, delivered at no cost, perhaps a CEX Lite Version its bound to appear first than a DEX 4.85.

Its something regarding a category tab on the XMB, only users will Overflow will notice it, something we don't discuss it here, but also i won't mention it, ill leave the judgement for the admins to give the reason you're looking for.

I don't see what is confusing about the explanation provided, or why you need to know more. It had nothing to do with safety issues, as has already been explained. The release violated site rules, which are taken very seriously.

Thank you for the explanation. I thought I read somewhere in the beginning that there's not much difference between 4.84 and the new 4.85 in terms of jailbreak process, so I assumed that a CFW 4.85 would be released quickly.

Like I said, I am not complaining, as there are other ways to get CFW 4.85. I just thought it would be much easier to use Rebug's as it is "un-complicated".

Exploit Firmware and Custom Firmwares are two different things, not to be confused with one another.

When you mention there isn't a difference between 4.84 and 4.85 Exploitation, that means the Exploit itself isn't different from these two firmwares, they both use the same method and Exploitation tools, now Custom Firmwares are different from one version another, they bring new features, bug corrections and updates payloads from they're predecessor versions.

For anyone remembering me once existing quite actively on this Forum, im back and I have noticed there is a new OFW. Jeez Sony still trying eey
The feeling when you get back and there is a new OFW and you know that even if there has almost been a month Rebug wont be there is not a good feeling.
Anyway, ill be waiting patiently. Maybe ill get back to being active but who knows

hi all.. i just update my PS3 Hen from 4.85 to 4.85.1 with this steps:
- i am using flashdisk and update it from xmb menu
- after update, i lost my Package Manager and Hen Enabler menu, but not my Multiman
- so i reinstall Han and Hen from ps3exploit and they work fine, also the Multiman

my question is, have i success upgrading my HFW? or something i have miss with the process although the system is run normally?

i am indonesian, sorry for my bad english...
