    Savegames conversion tutorial

WARNING: This option will overwrite your current savedata in dev_usbXXX, use it with caution

    • Download someone else's savegame for your game of your choice
    • Put the savedata in your pendrive in "X:\PS3\SAVEDATA" (pendrive must be in FAT32)
    • Put in the pendrive in the PS3
    • Select Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Convert Savedata
    • Wait until the conversion finishes
    • Once finished, copy your converted savedata throught XMB "Saved Data Utility (PS3)"
    • Launch your game and load your new savedata

    Creation of act.dat tutorial

WARNING: The accountID is linked to savedata and trophies, so, if your current user already have a valid accountID and you overwrite it, you will be unable to use your trophies and savedata on that account until you restore the original accountID in xRegistry.sys.

I recommend to use an empty account without trophies and savedata or an account without accountID.

To create a fake act.dat, Cobra 8.3 must be enabled, and your PS3 must have at least one account with a valid accountID and launch a game that requires a RIF/RAP license file.

Cobra will search a valid accountID in all existing accounts and create act.dat while the game is launched through the XMB. If no accountID is found, act.dat will not be created.

You can create a fake accountID (like reactPSN), to do this go to Network > ★ Custom Firmware Tools > PSN Tools and choose between "Create accountID" or "Overwrite accountID" (Be careful about the last option because if you already have a fake/real accountID it will be overwritten). It is recommended to use these options in an account that does not have an ID. The PS3 will restart if everything went well.

The tutorial would be the following:
    • Download your purchased PSN game from PS Store
    • Put game RAP file in "X:\exdata" or "/dev_hdd0/exdata"
    • Launch your purchased PSN game
    • Cobra will check if any of your PS3 accounts have accountID
    • Faked act.dat will be created while the game is launching

If none of your accounts have a valid accountID you will need to create it. To do this log into the local PS3 account where you want to create the accountID. You can see if your current local account has an accountID choosing Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Show accountID.

To create a faked act.dat do the following:
    • Make sure Cobra 8.3 is enabled
    • Select Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Create accountID
    • Select Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Activate account
    • Launch your purchased PSN game
    • Faked act.dat will be created while the game is launching

Now you have a faked act.dat and your local account is activated. The act.dat file works for every local account, you only need one file for all accounts.

    Block PSN log in

This method is developed by @DeViL303, it will only work with Cobra enabled, Cobra will block log in on PSN/SEN while the CFW syscalls are enabled, to enable it again you need to disable CFW syscalls completely (you can do it with webMAN MOD, psnpatch, SEN Enabler, etc…).

If you want to disable this feature, simply delete /dev_flash/vsh/resource/npsignin_plugin.lck

What makes you think that I did it?
I don't even know what it means.

I did absolutely nothing, just watched movian and then updated.
You wrote:
"Im update from previous evilnat fw (where i can login to psn) to 4.88..."

I understood you spoofed, because I thought you mistyped "In update...". Sorry.

I DONT SPOOF ANYTHING, MAN OK ?
WHAT A F** OMG
Ok, I already wrote I misunderstood you and I feel sorry about it.
Maybe the ban happened because you connected to SEN with a modded console... No one really knows the cause of bans. If you ask how to avoid bans for any of developers, they will say to NEVER connect to SEN with a modded console. This is the only way to avoid bans for sure.

I got banned for unknown reasons as well several years ago. I didn't even have any games on my system at the time, and I was using psn patch, still banned. I've only signed in once on my new system, and that was just to get the act.dat. I don't plan to sign in again, so I've essentially self-banned myself. might be better, because if I ever sell the system, it won't be worth much if it's banned.

And honestly going online with a jailbroken console isn't even recommended, it's at your own risk for getting banned and if that happens and theres really nothing that can be done other than making a new account and getting a new console if you want to continue doing that, I got a PS3 and a xbox 360 that are jailbroken and I will never even try doing that, I like them a bit too much xD

I added Dump ERK option in xai_plugin, it will dump eid_root_key to dev_usb or /dev_hdd0/tmp if there is no usb connected to the ps3

This option is in [Custom Firmware Tools > Dump Tools > Dump ERK], it needs to be installed over CFW 4.88.2 BETA

The option may fail the first time, use it again to dump the ERK. If anyone test it please let me know, it is tested on my PS3 and is working as expected

@DeViL303 I will try to help you creating the files for the Ultimate Toolbox when I finish version 4.88.2

During this 5 weeks in this version, do you know someone that has been banned doing the same as always and spoofing firmware? I'm on dex and i found someone in youtube that has been banned recently after several years without been banned and he changed cex to dex like 3 months ago, i think he never disable syscalls maybe that was the reason of the ban.

If the PS3 is connected to the internet and if there is an error on the HD it seems that it sends a type of information to sony type o why there is this error and they send a diagnosis. I had a ps3 banned for this reason a while ago.

Not disabling syscalls or crash report sent to Sony is my bet too. I might have the latter coming for one of my PS3's, I was careless when doing some testing and could have sent a report :(

Hello I have a ps3 slim 2001A but the Blu-Ray does not work, I tried to install the CFW 4.88 NoBD from OFW and HFW but in both it tells me that files are damaged and I get the error 8002F2C5, I tried it with 2 different USB and formatted in FAT32 I was left with an infinite bug no longer starting the system, any solution?

Try to reinstall HFW/OFW from Recovery Menu. Did you enabled HEN before installing the CFW?

I added Dump LV2 and Dump LV1 options in xai_plugin, it will dump LV2/LV1 to dev_usb or /dev_hdd0/tmp if there is no usb connected to the PS3.

These options are in [Custom Firmware Tools > Dump Tools > Dump LV2] and [Custom Firmware Tools > Dump Tools > Dump LV1], it need to be installed over CFW 4.88.2 BETA

These options may be the last that I add to xai_plugin for now. I will take a look to other options of the CFW that they have commented to me

HEN does not allow CFW installation by itself. Bgtoolset is used to patch the flash for CFW install (HEN is not needed to use the toolset).

First, you have to use bgtoolset to jailbreak. After that you will reboot and install the CFW pup. You can follow this guide or find MrMario2011's bgtoolset video on youtube.

Also, you may not need NoBD firmware. After you use bgtoolset, try installing the normal Evilnat 4.88. Try to run a homebrew like Movian (or a game if you have bought one from Playstation Store and have it installed). If the app or game works, then you do not need NoBD.

@Evilnat i have a suggestion. please consider including silk_webkit.sprx from 4.82 (or have it swappable with the 4.88 version in CFW tools.)

It is the only file that is different between OFW and HFW. it was included in last REX. it is needed for the HEN/HAN html/javascripts to work, but it can also be used with some scripts that @lmn7 released recently. His scripts can copy new files to hard drive and replace files in flash. (they are used in a HEN installer but can copy any file if it is not too big.)

it would be nice if HFW, REX, and your 4.88 could all use the same webpage based installer for simple mods.

ALSO i am wondering if you included the Extended Download mod by @DeViL303

I am currently running 4.84 Rebug, spoofed to 4.86 using SEN Enabler 6.2.5 (haven't touched my console in a while), Is there any thing special I need to do beforehand to install 4.88 EVILNAT ?
Thanks.
(sorry if it has been asked before, I searched but couldn't find)

There was an issue with the extended download plugin reported by a user, if you download a "known" file type like an MP3 with the extended download plugin it will not get added to the database.

For this reason I recommended not including it by default, I think if including it at all it's better to have it on a toggle like the one in Ultimate Toolbox. This way it can be used when required and disabled for downloading known media files. It's not really a big issue these days as there are very few sites that work on PS3 but still a shame to break downloading of images in particular.

(or have it swappable with the 4.88 version in CFW tools.)
There is probably no need to have a toggle for the webkit as there is no downside to using the 4.82 version. Also as its a 5MB file its really a waste of flash space to include 2 of them when free space is so low.

It's like you said, the currently used patch is useful, no doubt, but if there are unwanted consequences, it means the patch is not perfect & needs reviewed completely before being deployed "en masse" with a CFW.
I don't recall now whether it's a text segment or a data segment patch, I think (from memory) it is the latter & it would not be surprising as it is a classic issue with data segment patches.
Someone (lol) would need to look into this more closely & determine whether a simple text segment patch is at all possible or if we would need a dynamic patch applied through a payload & a hook.

You are right, on the bright side, this patch has been included in HEN for about 2 years and only 1 person noticed, that I know of. All the same I still don't recommend including it by default.
