    Savegames conversion tutorial

WARNING: This option will overwrite your current savedata in dev_usbXXX, use it with caution

    • Download someone else's savegame for your game of your choice
    • Put the savedata in your pendrive in "X:\PS3\SAVEDATA" (pendrive must be in FAT32)
    • Put in the pendrive in the PS3
    • Select Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Convert Savedata
    • Wait until the conversion finishes
    • Once finished, copy your converted savedata throught XMB "Saved Data Utility (PS3)"
    • Launch your game and load your new savedata

    Creation of act.dat tutorial

WARNING: The accountID is linked to savedata and trophies, so, if your current user already have a valid accountID and you overwrite it, you will be unable to use your trophies and savedata on that account until you restore the original accountID in xRegistry.sys.

I recommend to use an empty account without trophies and savedata or an account without accountID.

To create a fake act.dat, Cobra 8.3 must be enabled, and your PS3 must have at least one account with a valid accountID and launch a game that requires a RIF/RAP license file.

Cobra will search a valid accountID in all existing accounts and create act.dat while the game is launched through the XMB. If no accountID is found, act.dat will not be created.

You can create a fake accountID (like reactPSN), to do this go to Network > ★ Custom Firmware Tools > PSN Tools and choose between "Create accountID" or "Overwrite accountID" (Be careful about the last option because if you already have a fake/real accountID it will be overwritten). It is recommended to use these options in an account that does not have an ID. The PS3 will restart if everything went well.

The tutorial would be the following:
    • Download your purchased PSN game from PS Store
    • Put game RAP file in "X:\exdata" or "/dev_hdd0/exdata"
    • Launch your purchased PSN game
    • Cobra will check if any of your PS3 accounts have accountID
    • Faked act.dat will be created while the game is launching

If none of your accounts have a valid accountID you will need to create it. To do this log into the local PS3 account where you want to create the accountID. You can see if your current local account has an accountID choosing Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Show accountID.

To create a faked act.dat do the following:
    • Make sure Cobra 8.3 is enabled
    • Select Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Create accountID
    • Select Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Activate account
    • Launch your purchased PSN game
    • Faked act.dat will be created while the game is launching

Now you have a faked act.dat and your local account is activated. The act.dat file works for every local account, you only need one file for all accounts.

    Block PSN log in

This method is developed by @DeViL303, it will only work with Cobra enabled, Cobra will block log in on PSN/SEN while the CFW syscalls are enabled, to enable it again you need to disable CFW syscalls completely (you can do it with webMAN MOD, psnpatch, SEN Enabler, etc…).

If you want to disable this feature, simply delete /dev_flash/vsh/resource/npsignin_plugin.lck

Hi...discovered a strange Problem......load Metal Gear Solid V over MMCM, then promted to update to 1,04 Version, started...then 3 beeps ocured and PS3 restarts....i'm on 4.88.2 Evilnat...tried to go into PSN, disabled syscalls but cannot load MMCM,enabled Syscalls, cannot sign into PSN...everytime i try to update i get the 3 Beeps and then a resart...?

Could someone please help?

THX in advance
Hi, why don't you use another backup manager? I'm pretty sure that MMCM didn't get any update a long time ago.

I've just played MGSVTPP (and MGSVGZ) last weekend, mounting ISO on webMAN mod and ManaGunZ (my favourite one)/

That's the only strange thing at first glance, everything else seems normal, you need to learn how to use PSN safely on CFW, if you are not familiar with the steps you now have to perform on Evilnat's CFW, it means you were most likely doing it wrong before.

In the right order when you wish to game online (not recommended on CFW or HEN), you mount a game with your backup manager, disable custom syscalls, launch PSN then launch the game.
If you exit the game & wish to use a homebrew again, you should first re-enable custom syscalls & possibly disconnect from PSN.
But you don't need PSN anyway to update MGS V or any game or app for that matter.

Regarding the MGS V 1.04 update triggering a reboot, it could have been caused by a number of things including hardware issues & it may not be an issue with the CFW specifically.
Can you reproduce the problem at will?

Let's see whether someone else reports a game update installation problem, with that game or with another.

borderlands 2 wont open its a disc pls help
By disc, do you mean that you are inserting and actual physical Blu-Ray disc into the console and you are unable to launch it, or do you mean that you are using a Folder/ISO backup of a disc.

If it's the former:
1. Is your disc scratched?
2. Have you tried dumping an ISO/Folder an verifying with an IRD?
3. Does the disc work in other CFWs?

If it's the latter:
1. What backup manager are you using to mount the game?
2. Have you verified your backup with an IRD?
3. Are you using a JB Folder or an ISO?
4. Does the backup work in other CFWs?

Thx for your answer :)

I don't want to play online, i do as you said and mount game, then log into PSN, then started the game, then the update is working all fine....and yes, i can reproduce the Prob as said before,
mount game, start game, will do the update,3 beeps,restart.....i searched a little and it seems it is a problem from SONY's update function, is commented as "trying to load the game, update and close the game at the same time" and then the PS3 says " F*** Y**".

There is the workaround as i did, some others say you shoul "speed Click" OK if prompted for the Update :)

I prefer the Method as i did.

So...how do i re-enable the syscalls from XMB? (Cause Toolbox isn't ready c'ause of the missing syscalls....?

Still isn't working? My MGSVTPP iso (yeah, I've got game disc, but still sealed, and will be until next Big Bang) works perfect including the 4 updates. Need 4 packages.

I suggest you:
1- Delete game/install data
2- Download all 4 update PKG files on a PC, then install them. You can install them from Sony PS3 servers, but I prefer to do it manually.
3- Mount your ISO (give up mmCM) using ManaGun or webMan MOD
4- Enjoy that awesome game!

Generally speaking you cannot re-enable custom syscalls once you disable them, you should restart your system.
However a "partial" custom syscall disabling feature was implemented some time ago to provide an alternative with which custom syscalls are disabled but one syscall is patched to allow users to re-enable them.
It is up to you to decide whether it is worth using this trick as it could potentially be detected, personally I don't, I am used to rebooting anyway by now & I don't find it a major problem.
You should be able to use that feature with wMM iirc.

EDIT:
From the OP:
Cobra 8.3:
...
Restore CFW Syscalls without reboot just entering to 'Settings > System Update' on XMB (by aldo)
Seemingly there is a new Cobra feature that can take care of the problem.. You can enable the feature using the Network/Custom Firmware Tools/Cobra Tools/Allow Restore Syscalls shortcut.

Hmm I'd say just dl the All versions link if it's not working for you for some reason. That worked fine for me the other day. The cex link works on my side as well. Maybe try another browser or turn off your antivirus software. Might be blocking it.

Hello I have a question, can I update to this if I'm on Ferrox 4.87 CEX? If yes then how? Will I be alble to retain my games, saves etc? Thanks in advance

Trying to connect to PSN I get an error (80023017) it is very strange in previous versions it did not happen to me I am in evilnat 4.88.2, I disabled the cfw syscalls and it does not allow me to connect to psn, is it due to some modification that they made? I read that the latest version has login protection if you don't disable syscalls. I already tried disabling syscalls with psnpatch, from evilnat's CFW tools and finally with webman, please help!

I read that the latest version has login protection if you don't disable syscalls. I already tried disabling syscalls with psnpatch, from evilnat's CFW tools and finally with webman, please help!
try changing the DNS http://www.bestdns.org/ so maybe if you replaced the PSID with a non-native one, or your account was stolen...
