[ANSWERED] How should i hack my PS3 with Ps3Xploit v2.0 (w/ Flash Writer) or PS3xploit HAN (3.0) ?

One more Question for dump.hex
Can I extract the Level 1 and 2 from the Nor Nand Image ?
I have no more Idea.

Greets xenocracy

PS: Can i write a foreign Nand from a outher Console same Type
to the Nand same Nand (Nor 16MB). with not Restart the System
and make a memdump, And copy the original dump.hex back.
With no Brick ?.

PS3 NORNAND Statistic V1, FlowRebuilder -> Extract Nand, But i find nothing
memdump_0.01-FINAL -> lv1_dump_35500.bin, lv2_dump_35500.bin
multiMAN can import Nand to Nand -> myCEX.EID0.NANDBIN

1. Your console is NOR based, it does not use NAND. FYI if you use the Flash Writer 2.0 for NAND on your console, no patch will ever be applied to your NOR.
2. Extracting lv1 & lv2 self from a dump is completely useless in this context. It was never a problem to begin with. If the Flash Memory had been corrupted & required to be fixed, you would not have been able to reboot.
3. You cannot swap the entire contents of the NOR with the contents of another console's NOR, it would be a guaranteed brick. But why would you even consider doing that anyway?
4. With the validation results you posted previously, all you had to do was reboot (which you had already done before posting iirc) & install a 4.82 CFW from the XMB. In case of installation error, you were told to reinstall 4.82 ofw & restart the entire Flash Writer 2.0 process from the beginning.

I still don't understand.
I have absolutely no idea what you are trying to do or what you are working on.
I replied to your post describing the jailbreaking of a slim 2xxx. I gave you advice on completing that process but it had nothing to do with repairing a 3xxx (?) which was badly flashed (?).
Repairing a badly flashed 3xxx console is off topic here, some threads are dedicated to this problem, you should read them.

when we going to have a flasher for 4.83 not han xploit but a flasher only ? this tool was very good one for avoid opening the ps3 and for ps3 have nand memory i have got in this few weeks a go one 60gb ps3 but i don't have nand flasher i have an progsteek 1.21 i don't know how to flash or read the nand

This is my first post here :).
I am trying to follow the steps from the first page and patch my fat CECHC04 (with 4 USBs and card readers) - I guess I need to replace NOR with NAND in the steps; but before that of course I've hit an issue.
The steps highly recommend to install 4.82 twice. Using the same USB stick which I installed couple of days ago I am trying to do the same and get a 2nd installation but after it scans the USB I get the message "No applicable update data was found".

Worth to mention, after the first ofw 4.82 install, I installed a bigger hard drive.

Do you know how should I get the second install of OFW4.82? A factory reset would help? Or put back the old hard drive and do the 2nd update?

Your case is a bit rare because you used same USB stick before, but it looks is the USB stick, something have changed in it

The hdd replacement should not be a problem, actually an additional safety meassure people could do before installing a firmware is to enter recovery menu and use the option "restore filesystem".... or format/replace the hdd
This way the PS3 does a check of the hdd filesystems and it gives you the confidency that are fine

The firmware installers extracts some files temporally to hdd, so a damaged/corrupted hdd could interrupt the firmware installation and this is what we need to avoid. If this happens while the PS3 is working normally while doing a normal firmware installation then there is no problem because the official firmware have safety meassures to avoid the disaster, but if it happens in the middle of the ps3xploit procedures... well... who knows what could happen ? (this is the kind of thing hard to know and/or to replicate)

But in your case that you have replaced the hdd... you can be sure the hdd filesystems are fine because are fresh made (few days ago) :encouragement:

Thanks for the answer, actually I started in Safe mode and the update from there it worked! I will prepare myself and do the big patching, before that I plan to do a dump of the ofw and check it with the python tool just to make sure I am able to use the tool and how the output looks like.

I know is off topic, I installed the 320 GB hard drive but in system information it says only 265 of 298 are free, is the 30 GB difference reserved by the system?

I dont remember how much GB are lost but is a lot :/

And you do well in making a dump of the official data before writing, and doing all the dump checks before and after writing, it seems you was reading everything with attention and undertood it well, i bet you will have no problems :)

Use the HDD method instead of USB & follow each of these steps to the letter:

A) Patch the NOR
It's highly recommended to install the 4.82 official firmware twice on your console before using ps3xploit flash writer v2.0.
If your ps3 is already on ofw 4.82 then just install the 4.82 system update PUP again.

Once done, open your ps3 browser, set the homepage to http://**ps3xploit.com >Domain no L...(ps3xploit.me =new)/writer/index_nor_hdd.html
Restart the browser.
Follow the on screen instructions ie
1. download the flash_482.jpg file
2. initialize exploitation
3. patch flash

When patching is finished, you should get a success message.
To protect your console against any risk of bricking, do NOT turn off or reboot the console just yet, you should validate the Flash memory first.

B) Dump the patched NOR
Now set your homepage to http://**ps3xploit.com >Domain no L...(ps3xploit.me =new)/dumper/index_nor_hdd.html
Restart your browser.
Follow the on screen instructions ie
1. download the dump.jpg file
2. initialize exploitation
3. dump nor flash

When the dump is done you should get a success message.

C) Validate the patched NOR dump
Insert a fat32 USB key in ps3.
Go to the Photo colum on XMB, select the dump.jpg file & press the Triangle button. Choose to copy the file to USB device.
On PC, rename the file to dump.hex & use PyPS3checker tool to validate the dump.
You can get this tool from the dev's github repo:
https://github.com/littlebalup/PyPS3tools
There are other dump validation tools available out there but you shouldn't use them for this because they are not updated to support ps3xploit dumps. Someone posted a thread about updating PS3DumpChecker a few weeks ago but I haven't tested the updated version if available & I have not seen any user reports about it as yet. So for now afaik PyPS3checker is the only tool guaranteed to be 100% compatible.
Read PyPS3checker_README.txt for tool requirements & usage syntax. You will need to install python 2.7.15, the Windows installer is available for download on python.org, get the 32bit or the 64bit installer, whichever is appropriate for your system.

In the PyPS3checker validation result screen, if you get either ros0 or ros1 valid with PS3Xploit 4.82 then the patch was successful, you can reboot & install the 4.82 cfw of your choosing. ;)
All the PUP files for 4.82 CFW can be found in this forum, search the Habib/Ferrox/Rebug threads in the CFW section. Rebug CFW files must be downloaded from rebug.me.

If ever the dump isn't validated, ie you get more than 1 single ros warning, do not switch off your console & post here to get further guidance.

Hope it helps.

I asked this question in some other thread also. Apologize for repeating but this thread looks more suitable.

I saw tutorial about HFW & CFW 4.84 Jailbreak. I have a question. Suppose i obtain Original Nor Dump with expoit and prepare to write new hex Nor Dump. If i initialize exploit but after writing new Nor Dump into PS3, i find out that written Dump is Bad with error/Danger shows in Py Checker. Can i rewrite/replace Bad Dump with my ORIGINAL Nor Dump to prevent bricking without restarting PS3? What options do i have to save PS3 from bricking?

hi guys!!
I'm trying to install via hdd method, but failed, since it doesnt show any downloadable materials, just thanking the community the support.
As mentioned earlyer tried to install 2 times the ofw (and did) by recovery menu, the latest ofw 4.92 at the moment, and still geting these warnings after checking the dump with py ps checker.
"Following check(s) returned a WARNING!
009.02 ROS0 Hash
009.05 ROS1 Hash"
The system is A L04 with the latest ofw.
Tried the usb method, and get these warnings. Any ideas?
Followed mario's yt video, and this time i can not get rid of the warning.
Thank you

That is obsolete. Use ps3toolset.com instead. Those warnings probably fine. You just need no errors. You can just patch and reboot to install cfw. Follow mrmario guide for that too if you want. Its very detailed.
