  • AntiBlacklist is an homebrew-tool for PSTV that will remove the blacklist for games and apps inserted by Sony allowing you to play any game you want on your console.
Differently to the other tools, AntiBlacklist support both v1 and v2 patches and is also capable to remove v2 patch (if you want to update a game blocked by it and then re-enable it.

    Update:
Just a little update (v.1.1), now the v1 patch is permanent too like the v2 one. (Requires VitaRW for the permanent patch)

  • - xyzz for his vfs implementation for sqlite.
    - All the people on #vitasdk that helped me to figure out what was wrong in SceSqlite.

Curious just how this works and if it effects app.db mods. Saw it this morning but alas I had to work

I'm wondering the same, 'cause sen enabler, when using ofw mode and reverting back, the category_game.xml is made from scratch, so alphabetizing dlc, game updates, etc. is removed if u've done that mod.

Well I am a mod at thst site as well I sent the dev some questions in their development section as well so I will relay any useful info here of course.

my guess is that it doesn't affect the mods, because the app.db would be different for each person since it contains the information for the live area, and people r going to have different games installed. it probably just records the information like sq lite, then removes the lines of code when u want to disable it. that's my guess anyway.

edit: it would be unlike the category_game.xml since that file is never changed by the system. instead, the ps3 creates the explore_view.txt file for the given profile. thus, I suppose it's understandable that the file is made from scratch under the assumption someone hasn't modded it. I'm probably one of the only people who mods that file anyway. ;)

Nah I tweak every part of every file I can as well. My GF always looks at me like I am insane as "Its so subtle why waste so much time? Just play the damn game!!"

I would do that with the ps3. I haven't gotten much into modding with the vita, although I know how to do it. ;) I reinstalled rebug recently losing my mods to check the low battery bug with sen enabler that would kick u out of the app within seconds. I haven't reuploaded the flash files, so it's all default atm. the only mods I've done on the vita is like pkg installer, ps3 remote play, themes, etc. nothing like changing icons for games and whatnot.

It's always that same old problem of replacing xml files with whatever versions suitable for the task.
For now very few ps3 devs have taken care of processing xml as it should be processed.
Parsing, editing, validating & saving.
It's the only way to deal properly with xml mods of any kind...

So this patches your app.db on the fly, doesn't effect any mods during install or removal, but after a hard power off it doesn't stay applied like on 3.52 or lower. Sony seems to have changed something about the app.db in the FW update. Truly epic app though!!

it doesn't stay applied even if u use sq lite? it shouldn't be that much of an issue though since u can just leave the pstv in standby mode. that's what I do. the controller won't turn on the system if it's completely shut off anyway. plus, the device is plugged in, so u don't have to worry about battery power. ;)

OMG it is a pain in the ass to uninstall. I suggest only using if you MUST have it for a game!!!

what happens when u uninstall it?

Power off then remove memory card. Rebuild database, power off reinsert memory card rebuild database. Luckily I have my app db backed up.

It does seem like a lot of bother, I understand what you meant by "only install it if you need it for a game" ... [emoji6]

The other one just set the app and it's applied for Vita/PSP/PS1 and your done. Works for 85% of the games and never a need to rebuild database. You must rebuild for Adv version and it doesn't "stick" like it did with EML hacks so I can be messy. Adv also stops DLC and updates from working. while Adv has a higher success rate it still isnt 100%

So nothing works 100%?
It is a matter of adapting to whatever your game/dlc requires then...hence the fiddling...?

I believe the reason they (dlc, updates) stop working is that the adv. whitelist changes the app type from say gd to gdb (think it's gdb). it changes the other two app types to gdb also, so all ps1, psp, and ps vita r read as the same app type. I think that's how it gets around being whitelisted in the sfo. it probably needs to be disabled, so that the updates can be applied to the correct app type. I noticed that the normal, default apps like email, content manager, etc. r gda on the vita. I'm not sure about the pstv though. gdb may be its default type since the normal apps wouldn't be whitelisted. or, gdb may be the debug app type for the default apps - not sure.

Yea nothing is 100% but the standard whitelist allows for about 80% of the gane ro be played. While the Adv allows about 90% but with limitations. Till we have the keys I dont see that changing.

So the keys are at the heart of the problem for the remaining games?
Those particular titles just can't be played at all for now? No workarounds?
