Any other way to transfer large PKG files without PKG Linker?

Like the title says. Is there any other way to transfer a PKG file bigger than 4GBs to the PS3? I've tried PKG Linker with the help of some tutorials for wired connection, but none of them worked for me and I ended up wasting hours for nothing, as well as losing my patience.

Currently there isn't. Using PKG Linker via direct PC to PS3 Ethernet Cable connection is the quicket transfer method.
This limitation is due to the fact that the PS3 can only read external hard-drives that have a FAT32 file system. Any file on an external hard-drive cannot be bigger than 4gb, which is why we must resort to transferring larger files directly from the PC to the PS3.
(There ARE alternatives TO PKG Linker, but I think they're all still FTP transfer methods.)

I agree that it may be a bit troublesome to get everything set up, but once you get used to it, it gets easier.

Now, when I need to transfer/install something, I can simply switch from Wireless connection to Wired. I choose Manual on the IP settings, and it keeps the IP settings that I have for PKG Linker. Once I'm finished I can simply switch back to Wireless connection, and just go back and forth as needed.

That's the easiest way I can suggest setting it up to make it easier to switch back and forth between your PKG Linker connection and your internet connection, hope this helps.
I have a few tips in my (unfinished) troubleshooter guide, and there is more information on the PKG Linker 2.0 thread that could help you if you're looking to optimize your settings and figure out the easiest way to set things up.

actually there are 2 ways

First one is splitting PKGs manually or with a tool on Windows OS

Second one is using a homebrew apps to switch to NTFS (only on CFW).

if your PKG been converted using CWF2OFW and make-backup-pkg tools then YES it definitely works. but sometimes it gives error while converting or making pkg and after installation the game might not work. but i personally did it, some games worked in the first time and others worked in second. i already have The Evil Within work just fine in splitted files on OFW Han

and if your PKG from PSN i am testing it soon, i already prepared the files but when i have time at home i will let you know the result.

EDIT:
if you need help to setup PKG linker , i can help you too

What kind of problems are you having with pkg linker?
With some more info we may be able to get something working for you.

If using pkg linker then its related to HAN.

As CFW already has so many alternatives.

yes you are right, i just said that to remind the readers Lol XD

Out of Topic :
: TrueAncestor_PKG_Repacker , can it deal with PSN pkg?

also i am recently into Eboot, Edat, Rap resigning > where can i discuss this ?
i need to know how they are working altogether, spend last night on it. i did few tests and comparing with Eboot and converting to PS3_Game_folder.

I'd say to make a post in the General PS3 Discussion or Homebrew Development if your working on something.

Trying to transfer a PKG to the PS3 via wired connection, but like I said before, I tried some tutorials and none of them worked. Not even connecting my PS3 to my laptop with an ethernet cable worked.

We still don't know about what error you are getting or what you have tried already. So many tutorials out that it's hard to guess what you're doing. The more info you give the better the chance we can help you because rite now we are just guessing,

ok
1- connect ethernet cable to your laptop then go to ps3 and setup connection Manually > Wired > all next steps Auto

2- run the Test of connection on ps3

3- if it does not succeed in both it means you have a problem setup in your laptop configuration FTP service

FTP is for CFW; if you are working with HAN and PKG Linker, you need to run the program in your laptop and it will create a server where the laptop may be able to communicate with the PS3; the wired connection is to get a faster connection, as the laptop can connect to the PS3 if within the same WiFi connection, both the laptop and the PS3.
