AT9&AT3 Converter

PS VITA / PsTV AT9&AT3 Converter v2.3

The most confusing thing of the reddit tutorial is that it does not explain why is happening that weird effect with the timing of the song, the only thing mentioned is... "The PS3 uses the sample rate of 48000Hz"

But i have doubts if thats true, i made a test like this:
.mp3 48000Hz ---to---> .wav 48000Hz ---to---> .at3 at the max quality allowed by the plugin (ATRACT3 132kbps STEREO)
And the music was played in the PS3 very fast :confused:

So i thought... ok that sentence in reddit cant be right... lets make another test
.mp3 48000Hz ---to---> .wav 44100Hz ---to---> .at3 at the max quality allowed by the plugin (ATRACT3 132kbps STEREO)
And the music was played in the PS3 a bit fast (almost correct, but not aceptable) :eek:

But what is explained in reddit seems to be right
.mp3 48000Hz ---to---> .wav 44100Hz ---to---> .wav 40200Hz (in slow motion) ---to---> .at3 at the max quality allowed by the plugin (ATRACT3 132kbps STEREO)
And the music was played perfect :victorious:

Im wondering if i could really use 48000Hz... because my first file was played... is just it was too fast
But to make it play normal is needed to do the same procedure downsampling it in a amount (this makes it play in slow motion in PC)
But i cant imagine how to calculate the right amount to substract for this because i dont get why is happening :D

I just know the maths on reddit are right, but there are some things wrong
The way how is explained the math formula is... the PS3 uses 48000Hz and you need to substract the difference in between the 48000Hz of the PS3 and the sample rate of your song (44100Hz) ...thats 3900Hz
So... 44100Hz - 3900Hz = 40200Hz
Dont ask me why but it works :confused:

But the way how is explained the formula is wrong... lets say my song is 48000Hz ... and the PS3 is 48000Hz too ... so there is no difference ... so i dont need to substract anything ... but the song plays very accelerated :eek:
It seems in this case is needed to substract something... but how many ?

------------
Also, another thing wrong is the lenght of the song, it tells 55 seconds max but i have a SND0.AT3 that plays fine in the PS3 and is around 2:45 (2 minutes 45 seconds), thats a lot more and im wondering if is going to allow even more
The limit in bytes size is 2.4MB (combined with ICON1.PAM but you are not supposed to use it this way)

This is a cool little app, It just converted the BGM from the PS4 7.00 FW dump to WAV for me perfectly. Did not seem to convert to mp3 but its ok, wav is all I wanted.

Here are the PS4 BGM files in AT9 if anyone wants them.

I know nothing about this, but I wonder is it just a coincidence that 2 minutes 45 seconds is 3 times 55 seconds exactly? :)

Was trying this out for myself for a game on PSP and I was having a really hard time creating an at3 file for it. The song is 1:15 long so maybe it's too long for a file to properly be created? I'm not sure.
But yeah, no matter what the bitrate is, when the console type is set to PSP it always creates a file 0KB big. Now when I do it set on the PS3 console type, it works but the highest bitrate I can go to is 96 I'm pretty sure.
Also if this note helps at all, I did try this with the song being formatted to both MP3 and WAV while having the console type set to PSP and I got nothing.

Will the .at3 file work fine on my PSP even if the file is set to the PS3 console type?

Try use CLI tool for PSP, instead of GUI. You should see supported parrams by invoke it with i.e "-h".

Always use Wave.

Yeah, is preferably to use .wav as input, the AT3 format is like a container, but inside it there is still the data in .wav format

I dont know why the tool creates a file of 0kb for PSP
The difference is the PS3 allows to use 132kbps max, and the PSP 66kbps max
About time lenght... im not sure, probably the PSP have a restriction with it too, but the PS3 seems to allow for a lot of time (up to 2:45 confirmed by me, but maybe is more because i was not trying to adjust it, it was just a random test)

I can tell the SND0.AT3 from the PSP games works fine in PS3... you can just copypaste the file from PSP to PS3
So probably the other way around is going to work too (PS3 to PSP) if the file respects the PSP restrictions

Hi,

Little program for convert your files Wav/MP3 To At9/At3 and At9/At3 To Wav/Mp3 nothing special you must have .NET framework 4.5 installed and the files to be converted must be in the same directory as the application.

The At9&At3 format are used by Sony on PS Vita, PSP and PS3 especially for the sounds of themes.

At9&At3_Converter allows you to convert these sound files to other formats

Hello first "post" here. I just recently modded my psp and am trying to get sound when i hover over my emulator icon. Ive followed all the instructions, yet when I add the sound to SND0.at3 and nothing happens. Its under 55 seconds and under the required kb rating as well as the proper bit rate. I'm running 6.60 PRO-B10 on a PSP 2000 I'm using PBP unpacker to access things. Ive been able to change the pictures no problem. Another emulator has sound when hover so I know its possible on my model. Can any of you good sirs please help me out?

Sigh idk what I'm doing wrong and I've been at this for 10 hours. And no source of information is lacking at best. Nothing I do seems to fix anything. I converted the file under your instruction yet the file is empty. Idk how to find out what I'm doing wrong. Dear god someone help me.. Additionally no photos will show up on my psp. I created folders in all roots and subs, named them properly but still not a single file shows up and all the answers are the same steps I've taken over and over.

I never used this GUI, always original CLI apps (which I recommending anyway). Based on screen, You must switch to PSP & PS3 tab, choose i.e wav to at3, set proper bitrate for PSP and console type.

Also I see that Your Windows hiding file extensions. Turn this off as it is source of confusion.

Yeah the conversion was done properly. Set to the proper tab. Like I said, I followed your instructions. I opened it for aesthetics just to show I was using it. I will stop hiding extensions. See what that does for me.

Conversion wasn't done because You have end with empty file. ;)

Use CLI version of at3tool with wave input file if You have doubt in GUI. Typing "help" should list available parrams.

kinda offtopic but isn't it against the site rule #2 to post pirated software? this tool uses 4 tools found in official s*ny SDK's, found in the ATRAC folder of the zip. Not snitching but just asking

It always gives me a 0 byte AT9, any tips?

i tried wav to at9, mp3 to at9 or to at3, the output is always 0 byte

same thing happened to me, but I'm not sure if it's the same app. it was to create a boot sound for the ps4. anyway, anything above 144Kb resulted in a 0KB file.

That's wierd, i'm trying with different sizes and the output is always 0 bytes
