A community that builds its foundation around morality and quality can easily stand out and hold a trustworthy reputation.
I've visited quite a few shady sites/communities before making my way here that were simply existing to provide misinformation, damage to console or PC, vulnerabilities, or all of the abo the only two iscenesve.
I brag a lot about PSX-Place but really it's the only responsible scene I'v ran upon for the Playstation consoles.
GBAtemp is probably the only other console mod community I trust, but there's way to much drama and immaturity for me to participate there.
Just keep this in mind for anything playstation: "If you don't hear about it here, it's probably fake news!"
(My cliche for the day)

I agree. those are the only two scene sites that I frequent.

The stealing-part is most likely true, but regarding the 'prominent'... Yes... But the way they sometimes reached it... Lol
I still remember some things, like... 'the ToS-Issue' about the updated Psx-scene.com-Forum/Board-Software and oh wonder... Ps3hax had the same clauses... and so on....

CaputoMedia bought PSX-Scene.com DashHacks.com QJ.net back in the day. They also bought ps3hax.net but that was kept secret and not even @GregoryRasputin knew that (he does nowdays but not at the time). The reason it was in secret because this was the last site they acquired in the scene (2011/2?ish) and due to that big blowup of the ToS and new ownership taking over. So Pirate (of ps3hax) sold to caputomedia but stayed on (which was funny because he said at that very time he would never "sell out" and can't believe other sites did ), and posed as the owner for a couple of years. Now none of this was uncovered until CaputoMedia then sold to Keebali media and when keebali took over they were allocated a test run for ads to verify the income of those sites. Well many of us noticed the ads PSX-Scene was serving ads exactly the same as PS3hax and they both just started doing this with the same style ads..
So then all you had to is look at the page source.
http://www.psx-place.com/threads/so...we-have-the-answer-that-may-surprise-you.779/

So after some digging around and talking to the new owners all was uncovered. Then fast forward a couple years later and those sites were sold off again (its a common theme now) PS3HAX and PSX-Scene.com and DashHacks as well (but that site has been dead for years,). Now the douchebag that owns them now has served up mining scripts on all 3 of those sites at various times (draining your CPU on your system). Technically I am still a restricted "admin" there at psx-scene and really just been there helping to keep things honest. I seen what happened to ps3hax after GregoryRasputin left, Integrity went way down on the news and yet it was still a large site.. I do not do much there nowadays at all, but if someone has a request needs something o their account i do help members, because i know there IS NO ONE ELSE... No owners.. No real admin, my abilities are resstrictive there but i can do somethings.

That is why some get the fact that psx-scene and psx-place is the same (because so many of the PSX-Scene staff,, started this site ),
Basically the staff at psx-scene seen the writing on the wall back in 2014 (you know @GregoryRasputin , i called what would happen to ps3hax.net sadly (its gone......) Same will happen with psx-scene.com ..... These companies that ends up with these sites own a bunch of sites they throw ads on them and walk away if they are profitable enough for them they are kept online or resold (but as it sells it gets knocked down less and less to a point where its damaged goods and not worth much. . Good bye site they move on to the next one and could care less about the community or the database. The neglect is huge....

This is the reason why we created psx-place For us we had a great team, we had a great community, we had tremendous developer support. We however no longer (and surely do not now) have confidence in the ownership of those sites and as you can see ps3hax.net has been down for months ...

History?
PS3News and PS3HaX were very prominent during the PS3 Scene, PS3News would steal news from PS3HaX, after i became a staff member at PS3HaX i wasn't involved in any drama apart from deleting spam bots and stuff a moderator does, but when i became a News Writer i had my first disagreement which turned into a long running grudge with PS3News, the reason being is that the asshole would steal my news and paste it on his own site without sourcing me, that pissed me off quite considerably, fast forward to me having my own scene site, PSXHaX was created shortly after, this is where he took the "HaX name to grab from the popular "HaX" name, i thought i would give him a chance as he seemed to be doing good with his website and i thought let bygones be bygones, but then he started his shady shit again, with posting of fake news and clickbait, this is when first @STLcardsWS and then i got banned for calling out his bullshit.
Instead of fixing his shit, he decided to try and smear STL and myself with false accusations and tarnish with the same sleaze bag brush he has in his own arse, but no matter what he tried he couldn't get that crap to stick, i personally have taken no money from anyone or worked with anyone shady or unscrupulous, so he had nothing on me.

Anyway i think i have rambled on a little more than i should have o_O

EDIT
Why did i use "HaX" and not my own creation?
Well in all sense PS3HaX was mine, i just didn't own it, i did keep the site alive and running, i created numerous tutorials and help guides, i even used it as the starting place for my PS3History website, so i think i deserve a little from that.

This was one of the latest examples
http://www.psx-place.com/threads/ps...ageclicks-for-purposely-misleading-you.13065/

Then his response
https://www.psxhax.com/threads/psxhax-com-update-on-clickbait-fake-news-rumors-handling.1941/page-9

The most important thing he does not mention is No matter whom writes it. He was always the one putting it up on the mainpage and applying the related links in the article. So in other words he was always the last one to touch it.... So him placing and redirecting blame was nothing but shit.

His motive is traffic generation.. All actions leads to doing just that. Which is fine until you start bending the rules of honesty. I think wololo bends the rules too much here as well, giving advice but wraps affiliate links so hard into something you almost (well you know) that is the motive behind some advice ... PSXHAX on the other hand has taken it even a step farther and promote and milk anything for a view even if dangerous to the user.

Myself and yourself would warn of brickware on the PS3.
He would Promote it and even give the person dev status.
We would make frontpage news about it being dangerous with quotes from devs and still he would not remove it or even apply a warning.

Yeah, thats other of the things i never liked from ps2ownz-->ps3news-->ps4news-->psxhax
The admin and staff has some kind of magnet to attract toxic people, if you are some kind of "black hacker" without morals you can make a name on it and eventually you are going to be given moderator or developer status
So yeah.. with that attitude the community becomes a mafia, and after some time the web is taked down for doing shit.. then they needs to change the name to try to clean his backtrack... and so on

As a side note (if I may add something), I've always used original M33 hacks on my PSPs, and none of them ever betrayed me. They are just that smooth and easy to install and use (given proper instructions). I guess that also lack of information or willing to be listening only to one side of the issue might be a factor in hanging out with the wrong people, or using the wrong software. That's why I'm being very cautious in looking for the right software to use.

"Beg'n your pardon, sir, but it's a big-ass Internet" after all and pretty much any kind of people can be met I guess :D
