PS3 BETA v0.3 - 4.75 HABIB (COBRA v7.10)

Here comes a BETA RELEASE of 4.75 HABIB (COBRA v7.10) CFW (v0.3), Fellow CFW developer Joonie played a big assist in the release of this COBRA CFW by porting COBRA 7.10 to HABIB's firmware. This is labeled as a beta release (by HABIB) as there is a couple of bugs that need to be addressed and both developer's HABIB and Joonie are on separate vacations currently. So,[break]ss[/break] the developer's will not have time to address these minor bugs until they get back from thier respective trips, thus they decided on this public BETA release (that has been tested but poses a few bugs outlined below). View all the details from Habib nnouncement below:

BETA --- 4.75 HABIB (COBRA v7.10) v0.3

These beta have been taking place by joonie for a while, we thought to make this public beta since we both dont have pc access and we both are on holiday trips as well(what a coincidence).

Known bugs:
1. psx region bug(it might be fixed in v1.00 but we dont have pc access atm)
2. syscall 11 sc_ctrl is disabled(will be available in v1.00)

Now don't act selfish if you get these minor bugs which otherwise would've been ignored!(:p)

Bug Fixed since last habib 4.70 v1.03:
1. minor bug which enabled ps2 iso launcher on semi-bc and bc ps3 causing iso loading if ps2 iso is mounted and you are trying to play a ps2 classic/iso launcher(it could be counted as feature but...meh....)

HOW TO CHECK IF YOU NEED PS2 ISO LAUNCHER OR NOT:

All in all, this is the feature set:

  • [*=1]MADE OUT OF 4.75 OFW
    [*=1]COBRA v7.10 ADDED
    [*=1]INSTALL PACKAGE FILES AND APP_HOME
    [*=1]REACTPSN COMPATIBILITY
[*=1]ABILITY TO RUN GAMES SIGNED WITH KEYS UP TO 4.75
[*=1]THIS CFW CAN BE UPDATED OVER ANY CFW.
[*=1]THIS CFW CAN BE UPDATED OVER 3.55 OFW
[*=1]SPECIAL PAYLOAD FOR COBRA TOGGLE IN LV2
[*=1]REMOVED CINAVIA DRM FOR HDD CONTENT
    [*=1]REMOVED CINAVIA FOR BDMV
    [*=1]REMOVED CINAVIA FOR BDVD
[*=1]QA FLAG ENABLED BY DEFAULT IF PS3 WAS QA ON 3.55
    [*=1]RSOD BYPASS
    [*=1]REMOTE PLAY FLAG NOT REQUIRED
[*=1]VSH SPEEDUP BY DISABLING EPILEPSY WARNING
    [*=1]webMAN MOD 1.42.01 integration in cobra mode(default)

Major thanks to @Joonie for porting cobra and testing the bug fix

Thanks to @STLcardsWS for the developers/mod section for letting us do private beta tests

Thanks to all the beta testers and all the developers who helped including @haxxxen , @aldostools , @littlebalup , @Orion and everyone

Tested models

Change notes in V3 since the sample V2.
1. fixed the issue with ps2netemu working properly on BC consoles and Semi BC consoles, however
do not use ps2 classic launcher with mounted ISO as it will make issues on BC Consoles/Semi BC consoles.
Non-BC console users can ignore this as this does not affect the result.
2. Removed the unnecessary original ps2_netemu.self.swap for swapping as this is not needed anymore due to the change no.1
3. mysis's game_ext_plugin patch added to ignore SFO check for remote play4. Changed image version to 99999 to fix the issue with PUP installation on XMB
For some reason, it was impossible to install this CFW over previous HABIB 4.75 on BC/Semi-BC consoles
Changing the image version fixed the problem.

Change notes in V2 since the sample V1.

1. fixed the issue with pspiso playback due to missing hash checks for HABIB/FERROX in COBRA source
2. fixed the issue with category xml by replacing it with old one that was used in HABIB 4.70 COBRA 1.01
3. added debug payload for devs [dev_flash/sys/stage2.bin.debug], if you want to use this payload simply replace it with stage2.bin
otherwise stage1 inside lv2kernel won't mount the payload on boot.
4. disabled epilepsy message on boot, so it boots up faster

Guys I'm Disparate here, Plz help or an Expert Advice,
i have a super-slim ps3 im of OFW 4.75 And i don't Have Access to Any E3 Flasher, so i cant downgrade my ps3.
i Tried all the posted CFW 4.75 here, but it gave me (corrupted file and a long number which i cant remember)
thank you guys already

Change PS3 model to compatibile (all fat, some slims). And remember that even then hardware flasher is needed is your firmware version will be higher than 3.55.
Thank you very much
its really bad news,
are there any upcoming solutions? should i wait for it ? or should i give away hope?

Can you be more specific about your test setup?

You didn't mention which PS3, FW and which game, and also, did you try the original ROGERO 4.46 COBRA?

We need to isolate the issue from our own bug and its original bug.

My Bad, I know you get a lot of requests. It's a PS3 CECHA01. I run HABIB 4.65V1.02 as it doesn't have the psx video error. All other CFW's after that had the PSX video error. Games not working are crash bandicoot 1 & 2, Earthworm Jim2. I tried changing the video modes on the PS3 with my 1080p TV but no luck.

Thanks,
mm

So can you confirm if rogero 4.46 cobra works too? if Rogero COBRA 4.46 doesn't work on yours, then proper V-MODE fix is causing your issue. That's how I understand why it works for you.

Because previously habib 4.55/4.65 COBRA both had wrong offsets on vmode fix, which is fixed since 4.66 version. I can't get those games working on Rogero 4.46 cobra. Please test this for me.

[MENTION=29]Joonie[/MENTION] any idea about the other issue MannyMania mentioned?
With ps3netsrv you cannot launch consecutive psx games.

There were so much work done in COBRA lately, by various developers, and plus so much variables make some incoherent results, I would appreciate if the question was more specific,

Code:
for ex: I have slim ps3/cech-2001b, tested This psx and that psx rip, by using netserv GUI by aldostools and multiMAN version 4.70.03, and found out it makes an issue when switching roms..

When people report something, they usually don't report all the detail which makes it so hard for me to test every single combination with various fw/mangers

My main testing setup is webMAN MOD 1.41.02 and the latest COBRA 7.1 on Habib 4.75, I haven't noticed such bugs yet, [mostly I don't test psx games via netserv] I will try to find out what could cause the problem as soon as I can

Sorry, I have been asking about this issue for probably close to 6 months now. I have like 3 threads on ps3hax about the issue with all the details. I've asked aldo but he left, I asked deank but he is MIA again. Just thought I'd ask you here since someone else finally noticed the same issue.
I first noticed it when I was on rebug 4.66 cobra. I had the webman mod at that time and not sure what versions I would have tried but everytime I updated to the newest nothing changed. At first I wasn't sure if it was webman, firmware or ps3netsrv. People advised me to finally update to 4.70 rebug which I'm currently on now. I completely wiped my drive and reformatted drive and started completely fresh for 4.70 cobra. Installed the latest deank webman and use ps3netsrv gui 1.3. Still have the same problem as reported. My console is cechg. And rebug cobra 4.70 rex

No problem, I was in a mancave too since April till recently, and I barely use netserv unless it was for a testing purpose. I just fixed the issue with netserv/mmCM lately, but haven't paid attention to webMAN + netsrv + psx roms.

I'll get the log in a few days and see if what's wrong with it. Thanks for your report, that really helped.

Hi

Hello,

this is my first post on this forum, but I'm following CFW news very closely. First of all, massive THANK YOU @ Joonie, Habib, Deank, Aldostools and all other developers and admins of this site for all your work, all your dedicated time and wilingness to keep this scene alive. You are the best example of sharing and cooperation.

THANK YOU once more and I really wish everything best for you guys. You deserve it.

Regarding all this CFW story, I was always testing your releases since 4.46, but I never gave any feedback. Now I have decided to join and to give a small contribution if I can. I'm testing this beta a couple of days and I have never had any issues with ISO files of any sort (PS3, PS2, PSX). The only thing that I had trouble with are PSP and PSX games installed as a PKG files (PSP minis & PSX games published on PSN). Maybe you have already mentioned that, but since I'm new here, maybe I missed that info. When I try to start any of these PKG games, I get 80010017 error. These games worked perfectly on 4.70 and earlier versions of Cobra, but now they are not working.

Since I'm writing this from my workplace now ( :D ), I can't give any more specific info, until I come home in a few hours. I will give then all info regarding PS3 versions (I have one slim, and one fat) and something more if needed.

Welcome to the forum :)

I was wondering if you could check if any PSP ISO games were mounted previously before you trying to launch any PSP PKG games, it has been a known issue since 4.46 cobra 7 port due to its dynamic patching/redirection of ISO.

I'll also try to confirm the issue thanks again!

Hi Joonie,

Great work so far on this CFW i really like the clean "Approach". I recently buyd two PS3's one is the 2004B model and the other one a 3xxx.
Of-course the 2004B is the model with you'r CFW, other one can't be jail-broken so it stays at original firmware.

I have a few questions:

1: Like in rebug firmware it was possible to install package files from USB device, inside the "PKG" folder. Is it possible to archive this in your CFW. Or do you have any suggestions ?
2: Should i create a NTFS partition on my external drive and a FAT32?
3: PS3netserv could install PKG files over from the network, at this moment i can't get it to work. i see the "PKG Loaded" and few seconds later "Error /net0/PKG"
4: Do you have any tips or additional feedback for me.

If you need help testing something feel free to PM.

Thank you so far.

I finally came home, so I can give you some more specific details :)

Anyway, in my first post I made one unintentional mistake - error code wasn't 80010017, I wrote that from the wrong note :( actual error is 80029537.

I didn't mount any PSP ISO before trying a PSP PKG game. I get that error with any PSP PKG game (aka PSP minis), and with all PSX PKG games, same thing. This behavior is same with both of my consoles - CECH2004A (slim) and CECHG04 (fat). Again, those games worked perfectly before, on previous Cobra CFWs.

I hope that this helped you a little bit :)

1. Yes try installing [MENTION=872]sandungas[/MENTION] 's REBUG PKG manager for nonREBUG CFW
2. Not necessarily
3. This is currently being reviewed, I'll let you know when I can

That error code was also reported on OFW 4.75 users who previously installed PSP remastered PKGs via PEXPLOIT [Originally released by Kakaroto]

Can you confirm if the issue persists on non COBRA 4.75 CFW if you don't mind? I currently can't test anything until tomorrow. Thanks again!

@ Joonie

I have installed now Habib standard 4.75 on one device and Ferrox 4.75 on another, and both are reporting 80029537 error on both PSP and PSX games. If you need some other test, I will be happy to help.

EDIT : [MENTION=12631]Yonai[/MENTION]

Good news! we managed to fix 80029537 error caused by new check in VSH // 4.75,

Many kudos to [MENTION=20]habib[/MENTION] :) he can reverse on iPad how cool is this? haha

Thanks for your help, I identified the new check for 80029537 in VSH of 4.75 that didn't previously exist on 4.70 and below.

This seems to be the suspect of that issue occurred on all existing 4.75 OFW/CFW, according to our fellow dev [MENTION=502]zecoxao[/MENTION], SONY added proper sign check on those converted PSP Pkgs, I'm not so sure about the purpose but I think this was designed to prevent one of those PSP exploits on Vita.

[Sony usually updates PSP emulator for both Vita/PS3 at the same time]

Got it working thanks, why is this feature not implemented by default?

Because, HABIB CFW is not REBUG CFW.

[MENTION=893]concretecork[/MENTION]

I did some testing and was able to confirm the issue with netserv, however, mmCM+netserv+PSX games didn't make such issues like that I think it's because every time mmCM loads game it re-load all those prx modules for cleaning process, however

webMAN does this via VSH process, so I think that gives a clue at the moment, and also I was able to re-produce the same issue on Rogero 4.46 + webMAN official 1.42 as well.

Here is the proof of VSH got crashed after the 2nd attempt to load PSX roms via netshot [webMAN 1.42 + Rogero / Cobra 4.46]

Private Paste - Pastie

The current solution is to use mmCM instead of webMAN or webMAN MOD, however netserv / mmCM is broken on REBUG 4.70.1 due to changes [this will be fixed in next releases since I resolved this issue lately.] I hope to find better solution in near future.

You guys are amazing. Whole team working as one. Only thing that I can say is that I am ashamed that I didn't help and didn't give any feedback earlier. You know, I'm following this threads and this forum since 4.46 and never dared to create an account and jump in as a tester. You know, I don't know anything about programming for PS3, but at least it should be an obligation to help you in any way, because you are such a dedicated and talented group. As I said, without you this scene wouldn't exist in such a dinamic form, and all I can say is one big THANK YOU.

Anyway, I will try to be of some use in the future releases as a tester. I feel that we all should help you as much as we can.

Keep up, big kudos for all of you!

Should I keep to 4.70 cobra and spoof it if I want multiman and everything to work as it does?
or will webman, multiman and irisman all work the same if I update to 4.75 cobra?
I have no issues with staying on 4.70 just thought I would ask :)
