Can't update Playstation Store nor delete it!

Hi All,

I'm having issues with my Playstation Store app. It asks to update, downloads and hangs at 36% on the install. I get an 80010006 error and can't delete the application on my XMB. What should I do to fix this?

not entirely sure as I haven't this issue, but there's room in the flash for the new ps store. that's where I think it is.

edit: iirc, it's about 20-30MBs, so it's probably stored on the hdd if using a NOR system and maybe even if using a NAND system. u can access it with webman mod though.

Other than the store app itself... there are some more firmware files related to the store
- store.qrc
- newstore_plugin.rco
- newstore_effect.rco

I dont know the details of how it works though... im just mentioning them incase you modifyed some of them (or went corrupted for some reason)... maybe your problems comes from here

Btw... also, you should enter recovery menu and run the option to "restore filesystem"... this should solve any posible problems with the filesystems

Are you using rebug or an sshd? Rebug has a habbit of doing that to me with the psn store every time on a completely fresh service mode install, or corrupting future packages / updates around that point during an install with my current SSHD. Didn't seem to happen on my normal HDD for whatever reason.

Strangely enough, everything works fine with habibs cfw.

Just put it down to another random CECHL glitch personally, but could be more to it.

this is y I'm assuming this is part of the flash but stored on the hdd. I remembered there being a newstore folder in the flash, so I checked the category_psn.xml last night. it refers to the newstore inside, but it refers to it as a "preview." I don't recall if it's to the rco files or the newstore folder, which does contain several files, though. this is what psdevwiki says about that error: The file does not exist Note : This error can happen when you try to install a pkg that have an invalid name.

Hi All,

I would start by looking at the following things:
1. Corrupted file system (use restore file system)
2. HDD issue: dying hdd, problem with SSD/SSHD or SATA issue (if there is a jumper on hdd, use it to reduce SATA300 /600 to SATA 150)
3. Lack of available disk space... Check disk space availability on the different partitions.

Thank you all. I am using a standard 5400rpm hard drive that I pulled out of my 2012 MacBook Pro. I will try fixing the file system first and then try the other suggestions afterwards!

I restored the file system and that did not fix the issue. Everything else will install fine but Playstation Store. Here's a screenshot of my available space. EDIT: Don't mind the high temperatures on the PS3. The screenshot was taken right after doing a file system restore and webman-MOD can't run while that's going on.

You are killing your hdd by keeping it so full.. Also this can be a reason, free some space on hdd and try again.

Agreed, delete some files to make room, then run again the "restore filesystem", and then reinstall the firmware (same exact firmware you are using right now)
If that doesnt fix it.... imo the next test is to format the HDD on PC... or replace it by a different one

Edit:
Did you use two different backup managers in the same session ? (as example... multiman and irisman without rebooting)
Im asking because this could cause a problem of payload collisions and could generate this kind of problems in the HDD where the hdd acts as if it was bewitched and a firmware reinstallation doesnt fix it... in this case the only way to fix if is by formatting the HDD in PC
