PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

@mrjaredbetaAwesome job!! Btw will there ever be a way to force 1080p output on Netemu or is it totally hardcoded? Gxemu always looks a bit sharper due to this.
Good stuff.

I have always found that turning off PS/PS2 upscaling on XMB game settings (or in ps buttun menu in PS2 game) makes the game look the sharpest. This forces a 480p signal which is closest to the original PS2. HD upscaling creates a lot of softness that I don't particularly like. That being said, 1080p output is probably not possible.

Sorry for flooding the thread with posts lately, I was just trying out @kozarovv test config for Scarface from a while back, seems like it has a fps boost of at least 10 fps making it almost playable, noticed there might be an extra 2-3 fps at night time, seems like fps drop when there is a lot of buildings being processed. Also tried IPU Aggressive and other Vsync methods and it didn't help.

@mrjaredbeta game works perfectly with no slowdowns, confirmed, just like Gxemu. Heres a comparison picture between netemu with config and gxemu. Awesome job!! Btw will there ever be a way to force 1080p output on Netemu or is it totally hardcoded? Gxemu always looks a bit sharper due to this.
You should try with the widescreen patches (pnach), i was mentioning them here:

Are intended to avoid the annoying effect when the screen is streched from 4:3 aspect ratio to 16:9
There are some games that have an option in the game settings to select 16:9 though... in that cases the widescreen patches could not be needed

As far i understood most/all PS2 games have some point in the code where appears the screen size, this is what they are patching, also, it seems there are lot of games that requires to change the sizes of some HUB elements to prevent the stretching

You can apply the patch to the ISO in PC (permanently) or use managunz. The good thing of doing it with managunz is that it stores some of the original data that allows to remove the patch (it reverts the data to the original, so the ISO is restored completly)

Hi. Do you know if Destroy All Humans 1 and 2 are playable? The wiki isn't clear
As far i remember both have a problem related with textures, transparency of textures, or the reflections of that textures, or "emmisive lights"

All i remember from the talks is it seems the "normal" vector of the textures is misaligned (or some textures are applyed inverted), or things like that... i guess is something related with geometry

I didnt tryed to play them in PS3, but the annoying effect while playing is eventually you can see the lights of some enemies "throught" the buildings (and i guess they can see you so you cant hide)

Wonder if this can be used for other games
I tried it with Shadow Hearts 3 as the issue was very similar (freeze after FMV, ps menu is black screen but still accessible blindly), but sadly it did nothing. I am trying to figure out this problem now. I found where it is freezing, but I am just trying to find a workaround now.
Damn. You're on fire lately with those fixes :)
Haha thanks, I have a lot of free time this week so I've just been trying a bunch of stuff to fix these. Next week will sadly not be the same as the semester is starting again and my time will be severely limited.

@aldostools I am trying to encrypt Rally Fusion via ps2 classics gui, a DVD5 game that is only 300MB, but it is defaulting to CD because of the size. You can see it here: http://redump.org/disc/32804/

Very weird that they chose to use DVD as the storage format for this game. Is there a way to manually convert it through the command line? I tried using it but it still gave me a black screen. I'm trying to encrypt it so I can dump the memory from ps2 classic placeholder. Important to note that game does at least boot through ISO method, but I cannot dump the memory that way.

Need for Speed Underground 2 (SLUS-21065) Experimental Config
Code:
3D 00 00 00 11 11 00 00 0A 00 00 00 01 00 00 00
8C 6F 1D 00 C3 02 40 14 C3 02 00 10 00 00 00 00
Fixes all slowdown. ;)

Removes blur effects and maybe more(?). Still experimenting.

EDIT: I see. It's the graphic overlay effect that is probably the culprit...I will put together a different config tomorrow that keeps more "iconic" effects enabled.

Need for Speed Underground 2 (SLUS-21065)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 11 11 00 00 0A 00 00 00 01 00 00 00
C8 77 1D 00 B4 00 40 14 B4 00 00 10 00 00 00 00
This should be final config. This keeps the blur and light blur effects while removing graphic overlay (which is virtually unnoticeable to me). This makes a branch always true so it skips a bunch of stuff. This is also barely tested...maybe someone who knows the game more can find something else that's disabled?

@kozarovv Those didn't seem to fix the slowdown, so I guess its fine that these stay enabled. Thanks for providing these, though. :)

I tested both of those out and didn't notice any difference, game still lags like before? I took
Code:
3D 00 00 00 11 11 00 00 0A 00 00 00 01 00 00 00
8C 6F 1D 00 C3 02 40 14 C3 02 00 10 00 00 00 00
and made a config out of it with xvi32 by inserting the hex code and saving it as SLUS_210.65.CONFIG (there's no clarification on exactly how to do this anywhere here) ran ps2classics gui to build a pkg and add the config. Installed it and noticed nothing different? Tried the same thing with the other code. Just wasted a good 3 hours. The other guy got it working and put a video on YT so IDK what I did wrong.

Piposaru 2001 (SCPS-11014)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 3E 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Fixes freeze after intro. First game that uses command 0x3E!
Here is alternative config for Piposaru 2001, big thx to @mrjaredbeta for testing, and for fixing that game at first place. :)
Why to post this when we have working config already? Just to confirm my theory that configs do something very close to each self.
Code:
3d 00 00 00 11 11 00 00 0d 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
00 00 00 00
