PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

Chou-jikuu Yousai Macross (The Super Dimension Fortress Macross) (SLPM-65404) Experimental Config
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 0A 00 00 00 01 00 00 00
B0 AA 2E 00 94 B6 0B 0C 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Bypasses TLB miss errors that cause instant black screen/signal loss after PS2 logo. Intro cutscene is very slow, but ingame seems perfect. Some sound effects are missing entirely. Still researching, but posting this for now if anyone wants to try/mess around with it.

MUCH better config. This bypasses TLB miss errors that cause instant black screen/signal loss after PS2 logo (while retaining all cut audio from last config ;)). 0x21 also speeds up intro FMV a bit, but still a stuttering/laggy. Gameplay is 100% perfect.

This config nops call to display the memory card reading box/screen. It still reads it, but it is just not displayed. Instead, just a black screen for an extra second. Dialog will still show if you have no memory card inserted. Doing this avoids TLB misses and fixes crash. :)

i am here puzzled here, all ssx games but the first run flawless, ssx 3 ntcs works with soft config.

how is that possible if all games share the same engine?
SSX3 use different engine. Bug like SSX can literally anything. Bad timing, some overflow, something unimplemented in emu itself. Bad flag on VU/FPU. Take here WRC1 as a example. Same game, same engine. PAL version worked fine on pcsx2, NTSC were broken for more than 7 years (maybe more) until i patched it lately. Sometimes things aren't so obvious, and things can break even between PAL/NTSC releases. ;)

Here is test code for Tales of Legendia NTSC-U ONLY. To be honest if that work, this emu have serious issue in VU recompiler design..
Untested, but i was able to break pcsx2 in similar manner to how PS3 is broken, and then patch it like that to fix it.
Tl;dr there is high chance that will work on ps3.

Code:
3d 00 00 00 11 11 00 00 0a 00 00 00 04 00 00 00
7c 2b 38 00 7d 19 c2 01 ff 02 00 00 88 2b 38 00
e7 07 02 52 e2 07 02 52 8c 2b 38 00 6c 1e e0 01
ff 02 00 00 94 2b 38 00 ac b6 c3 01 ff 02 00 00
00 00 00 00

Edit: Well, now i'm not so sure that will fix it :/ But still worth to try anyway. I found another potential issue.

Does anyone here have game King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match edition?
I want to know that it have any gfx issues on PS3. Here is simple example from menu.

Because if yes, that mean that every KOF game that use 3d backgrounds is affected, and i can easily fix it.

@ kozarovv

Tested, fix previous messy graphic during battle.
but still a little issue.
1.first stage a little slow, until 6:42, but when get to land speed back to normal.
2.There is grille on the screen in some stage.
such at 1:00, 2:10, 10:38

That's great, at least for that game :P I thought that one will never be fixed as i knew what is issue, but here it is. :)

Don't worry about it, @mrjaredbeta fixed speed issues earlier.

@kozarovv Woooow, another game I thought to be forever broken! Amazing work! And now I'm happy my speed hacks aren't going to waste. :)

Yeah. That bug actually deserve some more explanation. When you look at code i patched you will notice that... nothing really changed.
Code is EXACTLY the same as original, but in different place. This is strict emulation bug, that i mentioned you in pm at some point.

My patch that fixed it, just use opcodes from different block to trick emu to preserve correct pipeline state. That was really tricky idea, but i'm really happy that i confirmed that. :)
But now.. Knowing that other issues in other games can be something similar. Well, we will see.
Btw, I saw you fixed Pride FC on PCSX2. I haven't tested it, but compat list states similar issues, so maybe that's another fixable game with your work?
I can, but only if someone will fix speed issues first. Patch is 88 lines, and on ps3 i need to write patcher in mips assembly to make it work, so I wouldn't do that if game speed still will be unplayable. ;)

if ur have time, plz do some research on The Transformers 2004, it's the last game i want to play cant run on ps3 :sem blush::sem blush::sem blush:
I looked at this game before, but not too in-depth. Although my free time is very limited these days, I will look again and try to find any speed hacks I can.

So game is just slow? I have debug symbols for it. I can look into it.
Can i ask how slow that game really is? Like 1, 5, 10, 15 fps?
