PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

Can someone with the psdevwiki editing access fix the description of the Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System? The game is unplayable (saving the game randomly hard crashes ps3).

@Vika23 @Rafaelrios Umm, 2 frames per second is a little exaggerated lol. It's around half speed.

The problem is netemu ends up skipping too many VU cycles and the game starts running in slow motion because of it. The game handles all of the graphics rendering on the VU instead of the GS.

@Reqence Are you absolutely sure it's not a problem with your game? I am only asking this because this has not been reported in years and years of people talking about this game.

Can you also test the game without the config?

@mrjaredbeta just tested without config (about 5 times with both saves on each run with a different save crystals so 2 saves per run) and game works great. It can always be a problem with my ps3 but i don't have that kind of problem in the the other ps2/3 games.

Maybe some command would fix the freeze:
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 21 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
1B 00 00 00 1C 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 1D 00 00 00
01 00 00 00 13 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 60 F9 00 00
24 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 80 BB 00 00 41 00 00 00

This command gives a noticeable speed boost in the turbo mode, so it is worth to try something to keep it at all costs.

@Reqence Well, I now tested the game with the basic 0x21 config around 20 or so times saving and exiting the save spot, running around, changing areas, re-saving, and I didn't get any sort of PS3 shutdown. Maybe there is something wrong with your ISO. Did you do anything specific to trigger the shutdown?

@mrjaredbeta if you save in the same spot and it goes through you can't get a crash i think. I've tried several times but it occurs randomly and with different save crystals, so just leaving the area and stuff will not trigger it. So basically that's how it tested it and how i got the hardcrash in the first place
-You start the game normally and complete the tutorial level saving in the first crystal (it's pretty rare to get a crash here and only if you save here then reset the game by going into the title screen then starting the game again)
-Then you will get into a new area and you must speak with 2 npcs then leave town
-When you about to leave town there is a second save crystal in the game (THE crash crystal, but again you can get through it without crashing but it's very rare)
-Save the game and if it goes through just reset the game by pressing Select > Square
-If you start the game again you will 99% get hardcrash by saving in the second crystal, i got through 1 time out 15 tests i did and it's almost always the second save crystal.
And here's the problem, it crashes as soon as you press Yes when the game asks you if you really want to save, screen must fade to black and then the save screen with memory cards appear, in this case the game just fades to black and console instantly hardcrashes and losing power for about 3-5 seconds. I've tested this several times with config and 3 different ISO's and it always happens. The sad thing is it's not a bug with game reset so potentially you can get a similar crash later into the game.
Also as i said before i tested the game as you asked me (without config) and i got 7 back to back runs without a single crash.
I hope i described the situation well enough for you to understand the problem, also sorry for my english, im selftaught and it's not even my second language lol.

@Agrippa just tested your config (back to back 10 runs with 2 saves per run as usual) and i didnt get a single crash, thank you for the help!
EDIT: aaand it crashed on the 11 run when i tried to save on a second crystal lol
EDIT 2: so the game crashed again in the same spot in my 12 run, im following a walkthrough right now and i did some extra steps (like i was actually playing the game and not just run from save to save trying to get a crash) here's what i did (copied from gamefaqs)

You'll be controlling レックス (Reks). Move the camera angles with the right analog stick. Use the left analog stick to move toward バッシュ (Basch). Move toward the ダルマスカ兵 (Dalmascan soldier) and talk to him. Afterward, get near the gate and press the circle button to enter. Attack or cast サンダー (Thunder) on the 小型飛空艇レモラ (Air Cutter Remora). It will be destroyed quickly. At the next area, use the locate map or the mini map to navigate through. There are many enemies here. You don't have to kill them all and you can hold down R2 to escape/avoid combat. Take the stairs to the north. Moving on, you will see a save crystal. You can check it to replenish HP, MP, cure abnormal status and save the game. Go on up and Rex will fight three Imperial Swordsmen. Finish them off and go south to a door. Continue to the northwest.
You'll be controlling ヴァン (Vaan). Finish off the three ウェアラット (Dire Rat)s in the area. Steal from them if you want to first. Besides the equip option, the world map option will also be added to the party menu. When you can move around, go east then south to meet with ミゲロ (Migelo). After speaking with Migelo, the item, weapon and armor shops become available. The magic and tech shops are still unavailable for the moment. Once you are ready, go into the northeastern house (with the red X if you look at the map with select) which is the 砂海亭 (Sandsea), aka the bar in town). Speak to the man named トマジ (Tomaj).
Exit out of the bar and press select to bring up the locate map. As you can see, the next stop is to get to the east gate. Before going there, check out the magic and tech shops since they are available now. Your money is pretty limited early on, so buy what you think will help out the most (I tend to go with the ケアル (Cure) spell, since Penelo and Fran can cast it no matter what job they go with). Go north to another area. There is a gambit shop, but it isn't available yet. At the west side of the area, speak with the bangaa to get into the Clan hall. Talk to Montblanc to become a member of the Centurio Clan. Go southwest from the Clan hall. You will get to the Muthru Bazaar. As a Centurio Clan member, you can use the clan shop here. Right now, all the clan shop has for sale is the デコイ (Decoy) spell for 2,000 gil. As your clan rank goes up (usually by beating more marks), there will be more things sold here. Once you are ready, head to the middle section of Rabanastre. The west and south gates are blocked. Go to the eastern one. There is a save crystal here. Save the game, then exit out to the east once you are ready

Also i want to add that after the crash my ps3 loses the led lightning for some time, but if you press the power up button it goes back to normal then boots the system again, also i never encountered that type of crash before.

I assume you are using a language patched version, aren't you? For the report to be valid it would be better to test the original, unpatched version. I was playing an untouched IZJS with 0x21 command for a little while when I did this config and I have not encountered neither any shutdown nor freeze.

Some NETs for y'all. The commands used are 0x21 and 0x0C, and a rare sighting of 0x02.

The commands used in them are pretty cool actually
The command 0x2 of NeoGeo Battle Coliseum with value 0x1770 (6000 in decimal) worths a try in the PAL release, is reported as unplayable without config, the other posible values for that command (found in official configs) are 1000 or 3000... we still dont know what the command 0x2 does though but it seems all the valid values found are a multiplyer of 1000

The command 0x21 is also unknown, with value 0 it seems is disabling something

And command 0xC is also unknown, the value needs to be spliited in two so are doing this:
Metal Slug Complete ---> 0x800, 0x1
Tantei Jinguuji Saburo: Innocent Black --> 0x0, 0x0
Tantei Jinguuji Saburo: Kind of Blue ---> 0x400, 0x1

I know you already know, but i was looking at them and decided to write a resume here, all this values used in them was already known to be used in other official configs, so nothing new but maybe helps to figure what are doing, all them are mentioned as unknowns in wiki

It is worth a try, but I believe both NTSC versions are playable without configs as well.

AFAIK, 0x0C is MECHACON related. I am unsure of what it's actually doing with those parameters, though.

Very little differences (if any) between these configs and already available ones from other NET/gxemu configs.

@Itachixsan Yup, it shouldn't be difficult. I could probably tackle it this weekend.

It is the untouched Canis Canem Edit NET config. The one currently in the database is made by myself to match the official blindly, as I did not have an access to it.
There are 2 bytes different in the new NET config.

I mean, it is great you have obtained that config, as we are focused on the preservation of official, untouched configs, aren't we? Since the game has been released on both regions simultaneously, I assumed the config revision should be the same. I was wrong, it seems.
