PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

@sandungas
These whole past few pages of this thread have been a blur...

Anyways, I messed up again about the environment maps and was right the first time...here's the correct code:
Code:
POSITION|ORIGINAL|PATCHED
205F6600 01010101 00010101 // Cars environment maps OFF
285F6600 01010101 00000001 // Bloom OFF + fog OFF + blur OFF + hud ON
305F6600 41700000 00000000 // Lower car detail
3C5F6600 41A00000 00000000 // Lower traffic detail

I will test soon and see if it works on unpatched netemu.
Great :encouragement: after verifying the original data from the "car enviroment maps" i suggest to make a "top speed" config with all that patches enabled, because are the full collection known ported from the pnach files... but not for using it normally, is better to play with the other config you suggested that is less invasive (bloom OFF, fog OFF, lower car detail, lower traffic detail) and incase you find some big problems in a specific race when playing later in the game you can try the other "top speed" config (intended only incase of problems), to see if it solves the problem, this way you know if some of the invasive patches are really needed at some point of the game ("cars enviroment maps", and the removal of the "motion blur" effect)

I remember you mentioned the removal of the car enviroment maps was looking too bad, and the motion blur is not going to affect the performance, but justincase

Btw, have you checked if the "bloom" affects the performance ?, this is another visual "distortion" i guess we could say is in the same category than the motion blur (and i guess this is why all that 3 switches are next to each other)... and maybe the fog follows the same rules so it can be enabled without having a performance loss

Btw, last detail sorry for writing so much, lol
Look what tells wiki about the command 0x4B
https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/PS2_Emulation#Config_Commands
2x uint32_t Params: offset,int (-1? selects different titleid?) - /game/ /../ USRDIR/SAVEDATA related

I dont understand how to use it or what it does (it seems the purpose is a bit unknown), but it seems to be directly related with the savegame
So... maybe this command could fix the problem in burnout 3 related with the savegame

Maybe, but I'm not sure how it functions or how to use it.

I switched my netemu back to unpatched and my config works! I also found the culprit of the slow motion bug, it was the second address (80531300) and not the first address (E8511300).

Final codes...all should work on unpatched netemu:

Burnout 3: Takedown (NTSC-U) (slow motion fix, no speedhacks enabled)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 0A 00 00 00 01 00 00 00
80 53 13 00 A8 BA 60 AC A8 BA 43 AC 00 00 00 00

Burnout 3: Takedown (NTSC-U) (slow motion fix, all speedhacks enabled (except motion blur and env. maps))
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 0A 00 00 00 04 00 00 00
28 5F 66 00 01 01 01 01 00 00 01 01 30 5F 66 00
41 70 00 00 00 00 00 00 3C 5F 66 00 41 A0 00 00
00 00 00 00 80 53 13 00 A8 BA 60 AC A8 BA 43 AC
00 00 00 00

Burnout 3: Takedown (NTSC-U) (slow motion fix, all speedhacks enabled)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 0A 00 00 00 05 00 00 00
20 5F 66 00 01 01 01 01 00 01 01 01 28 5F 66 00
01 01 01 01 00 00 00 01 30 5F 66 00 41 70 00 00

80 53 13 00 A8 BA 60 AC A8 BA 43 AC 00 00 00 00

Will @kozarovv or @lex3a add prafull patch in usa config? That config have ladder fix but still slowdowns in some places of the game and freeze
Please test, I hope I don't messed up anything.
This includes Ladder fix + Prafull slowdown fix + ps2_gxemu patch.

What's wrong with the savegame? I played Burnout 3 long time ago but don't remember any issues except slowdowns.
I did read about it in the notes of the compatibility list in wiki, it seems there are random problems when trying to savegame
https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/PS2_Classics_Emulator_Compatibility_List#B

I hope that config works, is another milestone because the game had many problems and it took a long road to find and combine the pieces of it :encouragement:

Nothing severe, bug sometimes the memory card will not be detected or saving the game will fail. All you have to do is hit retry and after a couple times it will work. I think on CECHA01 models, it makes the game unplayable as it never works, but for us it's fine.

Tested.
1st 2nd level ladder issue fixed.
2nd level kill two-saw-big-guys issue fixed.
but frame seems not very stable.and 2nd level around cutsence house flicking issue worse than old configs.

Kuon (NTSC-U)
Code:

24 41 10 00 00 00 00 00
Completely fixes bugged Sugoroku minigame. PCSX2 still has this issue and is currently unfixable...interesting.

Nice, do you have save state from pcsx2 close to that minigame? I want to fix it.

Played 2 rounds, was fine..

Hello guys, is there any config file around for SSX (2000) ?
It freezes right when you want to start the first race.

I'm pretty curious why it's not working and it's like the only game I still badly need for my PS2 collection on PS3.

Can someone talented enough take a look into that problem or give any tips how to solve that problem?

Thanks for your work!

Btw @kozarovv have you took a look at the 2 "destroy all humans" ?, both are reported in the wiki compatibility list as "texture flickering" and having the same problem in PCSX2 emu
Im taking a look at the list in wiki and it called my attention, maybe your magic tricks with the mipmaps could work with them :)
Or maybe someone has published a pnach for PCSX2, if is true that PCSX2 have the same problems than PS3 i guess this 2 games are going to be fixed for PS3 and for PCSX2 with the same patches

texture flickering also on ps4! will be great have fix

@kozarovv Weird. Just tried on the latest build and its still there for me...

Are you using any unusual settings? Different clamping/rounding? Maybe some FPU hacks? Old PCSX2 version?

PCSX2 have this fixed afaik. I'm working on it for PS3, but no ETA.

Just use official config. PS4 devwiki --> compatibility page --> talk page

Never looked into that. Maybe command 15 with value 4, or 7 with value 8 can help.
