PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

Darn, so it would take someone like that Maori Jiggly Puff guy who is good enough to translates the pnatchs into game fixes. No easy task.
 
By any chance you are interested into testing config for this game?
I don't think it will help, but maybe.. This is workaround for using 0x12 command by ignoring sync completely.

Thanks for work anyway, i'm play this game at ps4 now but im try test ur config and....game still freeze while chose languge of game at start screen..sadly..

What about Colin McRae Rally 3, Colin McRae Rally 04?
During the rally game is only playable from cockpit or from front bumper camera.
From (TPP) Third Person Perspective game work very slow (like a slideshow).

I can test SLES_518.24 & eventually SLES_511.17 if there is a patch or someone can make it...
 
I haven't played the game but I assume the car model may be a little too intensive to emulate smoothly.

Anyways, what's the deal with the ps3 shutdowns on some games? Why does it happen? I have experienced it in Tekken 4 ending movies, Nascar in-game, and Minna no Golf loading screens. It is a complete shutdown with no warning and the ps3 led turns off as well. Pressing the ps3 power button brings back the red led and pressing a second time turns on the console.

Anyone know why this is happening?

Sadly it seems to be blending issue, you get similar result when you set blending accuracy to ultra on PCSX2. Exactly only TPP is affected, due to car rendering probably.
Problem is that PS2 GS have very uncommon rasterizer that on PS3/PS4/PC need to be emulated using software. That kill framerate, not many games make some special use from it, but some like NFS series, are pita. PCSX2 have that workarounded by few accuracy levels, that cost some gfx effects, but at least make game playable. PS3 lack of similar solution. When effect is simple sunlight, this can be usually removed y patch on Ps3 without big issue (vide DR2), but sometime this is not doable, or maybe better word is not reasonable.

Code reached panic function, can be anything. Minna no Golf have the same issue on PCSX2, but they handle this in different way. Game just hang, and some log message is displayed. While PS3 go into wtf mode. This is also why command 0x12 can't be sometime replaced with EE patch. We can for example patch Gift game on pcsx2 to ignore that situation, and pcsx2 just run it like it should, on PS3 the same patch will lead to kernel panic. That sucks, but there is not much we can do about it.

Paired with kozarovv's shadow config, this new one also disables CPU intensive post processing effects. Aside from a very short slowdown in the intro, the first three phases work 100% full speed with no slowdown. I will continue testing, but the horrible 1-2 minute desync that happens in some scenes seem to be gone. :)
 
Maybe shadow patch is not needed now?
The shadow patch is still needed and is actually a huge improvement. Without patch, there could be slowdown with just two characters on screen. With patch, slowdown usually occurs only if 4+ characters are on screen, which isn't often at all.

I played around halfway through the game using the fix and there is only a couple scenes where at most desync would be around 1 second (since the game has a single streamed audio file for cutscenes, the audio will end and the scene will still be finishing). Without the patch, some scenes get around a minute or two out of sync lol.

Game looks interesting, im test too
 
I was surprised Fatal Fury Battle Archives Vol. 1 and 2 were not on the compatibility list. I tried both for a short time and they played fine.
 
Well I just played it a little more and it's not freeze proof I did just get a freeze after a few matches. Sucks but it does seems to be less often than the U.S./Euro versions. Oh well.

Then again the way my PS3 Slim has been acting lately it could have been a console freeze, IDK.
 
Hello, I would like to ask if anyone can see the game Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks and see if it can be fixed.The game suffers from graphics glitches (shadow flickering) and frame drops.
