PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

My attempt didn't work. :( I just tried to set vsync delay to a ridiculously high number in hopes that it would do something...
Not sure what cause this bug, problem is that i can't reproduce it on pcsx2 to grab any info where to start. :/ On cech C this can be fixed by removing, and reinserting game DVD. So i assumed that's some CDVD reading bug, dunno, read too fast, read too slow.

Hm, CDVD bug even on this ch.7 crash? Not too sure about the other one, but this one completely black screens and disconnects controller/vmc. I remember you writing a year or so ago that the first bug is fixable with a specific order of events. Maybe it is possible to find the problematic memory addr by using cheat engine with pcsx2 and seeing which values are different between normal and your specific non-crash route. Both crashes are probably associated with the same value/function...

Do you have a save file from first before ch.3 crash? If not I'll just have to play some. :)

@vus7294 Ibara and works perfectly. Are you using the config?

And Katamari Damacy has a config too...haven't tested it though.

GT3 and 4 and RRV work with some slowdowns.

@vus7294 In fact, all of the shmups listed after Ibara are tested as working, including Gradius V and Castle Shikigami (official ps2 classic). I can confirm that Arcana Heart 1 & 2 do not work and will probably never work...same issue as the Melty Blood games and no idea where the problem stems from.
 
@TonyClifton some games sync in little bit different way. When you select NO-IPU, then cutscenes can be unaffected if they are based on image processing unit. So you can check that setting "Anytime" helps more for them. This will change sync for both NO-IPU, and IPU images.

Also there is small trick that work for some games, not sure that Tenchu is one of them. You can set NO-IPU, or Anytime to custom, and use value (minus) -250000, iirc set negative values by pressing L1. That sync to previous frame, instead to new. Sometime you can get much better results that way.

I actually tried that as well, but the negative values had an odd effect in this game, it became too fast in some sections, as If it's running accelerated instead of let's say 30 or even 60fps, and extremely slow just panning the camera around.

This should theoretically fix all of the freezes, but I only have this one save file to test.

Nice find :) This most likely will fix also chapter 3.

Kudos for the precission when using net command 0x10 :encouragement:
I guess if there are other problems in other chapters of the game most probably is going to be posible to fix them with the same method

Btw, this game was another "most wanted", there was many talks in the forum about it, im going to advise @chicco33 because he was vey interested in it, he has not visited the forum latelly, but anyway

@Vika23 I have tested and can confirm chapter 7 freeze is 100% fixed. I assume chapter 3 is fine too, but I don't have a save file for that. I'll eventually play it and test though.

Sorry for posting so many SH2 configs... I updated the last config with better accuracy range for the 3d geometry rendering. I haven't tested heavily, but it should fix the other minor problems it had left (like Maria's arm flickering in her side story, Laura's flickering, and some additional James flickers).

Very weird though, cause I had to mess around/test and see which parts of the function to make more accurate...making the whole function range accurate still had some geometry flickers (James' arm, torso) that weren't present before... Had to see which part to make accurate and which ones to not mess with. Will eventually play through the entire game sometime to make sure, but this should be the final SH2 config. :)

I'll also port this to the other versions sometime when I get the chance.

This code for VP2 PAL limits the frame rate at all times to 25fps. In cutscenes, the game sets this value to 1 limits the game to 25fps. In 2.5D segment, world map, this value goes to 0 and unlocks the limit to 50fps. This patch just sets it to 1 at all times for a locked 25fps. I guess memory locations shift around when in battle, so idk what will happen when entering a battle on netemu. Can you test this @Devildwarf ?

I confirm it limits the frame rate to 25 fps. Now the beginning at the Solde's port is way smoother. No extensive testing though, but I haven't noticed anything strange during the battle. But there is a popping sound during the Last Forest part (original dump manifests the same issue). The ISO was patched by your code and the GameGuard's disabler entries only.
