PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

@finalantun2020 the few times you was able to play the ending video+credits and you was able to see the artifacts (i guess it looks like some kind of pixelation)... would you say is the kind of pixelation that doesnt exists when played in a real PS2 ?

Im asking this because incase is only an small amount of pixelation maybe it happend a bit in the original... but incase the pixelation is huge i would say is a clear signal that the emulator is having serious problems to play the video
Well, i guess the fact that sometimes the video is completly skipped i is a proof of that

Im not sure if there is some CONFIG command for that (something related with video codecs, or frameskip, or to decrease the frame rate, or something like that)
But there are a lot of unknown commands, some are just a switch where the only 2 posible values are ON or OFF, some other commands requires to enter a value, it could be one of them
I mean... incase there is some command to "conigure" video output the command needs to be something simple

I apologize for late reply, i do not remember there being any pixelization artifacts on real ps2 and even on ps3 they were only there a few times, as mentioned before sometimes the whole video plays without a single issue, sometimes minor issues and sometimes even shuts down ps3, the only consistent thing is that it happens only on that video

I will try to extract my .PSV save to try it on real ps2 and even emulator on PC just in case to see if any issues appear on real hardware or on PC and then i will report back with results

Im even considering getting a new hard drive cause HDD in my slim is original 320gb that came with console and was never replaced with bigger one, its quite old and maybe has trouble reading some sectors causing the issue while playing back the video, i will have to upgrade to a bigger HDD sooner or later so i will consider maybe getting a new HDD soon

Spyro Enter the Dragonfly (SLUS-20315) (SLES-51043)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 15 00 00 00 04 00 00 00
21 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
This config additionally speeds up frame rate. It is now comparable to real PS2 hardware (also had slowdown).

I have played using this config for quite a bit today, playing through the first 5 areas (including Cloud 9), and I have not run into any freezing issues at all. I came across the one softlock that @Major_Pothead92 mentioned while going into Cloud 9, but this is remedied by simply resetting the game and loading back into the area. There are no other freezes that I encountered, so either I am extremely lucky, or the 0x15 command is fixing the freeze.

The other thing is I saw some very minor SPS issues in the farm area. This was extremely minor and did not hinder gameplay at all. As I have played through the first half (or more) of the game, I will update the list and put this game as "minor issues" for now.

It's nice that the game went from unplayable due to the ps3 emulator to unplayable due to bad game design.

Haha, I'm usually not one to have negative opinions on games, and I actually tend to like a lot of games that were panned by critics, but this one is just confusing and weird. It also gave a me a headache from the flashing lights in Cloud 9...I assume that's the part where the seizure lawsuit came from. I'll leave it to Major Pothead to finish this one off. :D

@Rafaelrios Gran Turismo 4 bug is similar to Burnout 3. The menu FMV gets corrupted assumingly because there is too much stuff to emulate at the same time (FMV + menu option graphics + sequenced music + more?). In this case, the background FMV will freeze, and pressing a menu option after will BSOD the game (unlike Burnout 3, which will continue to loop the FMV corruption forever). No fix for now...just don't wait on the menu too long.

Also, 0x21 does speed up the intro FMV quite a bit. Sadly, it does not fix the freeze. I did not even test in a race yet, but it probably will improve the speed a small bit.

This won't fix the freeze, but try this if you want to see if there is a performance boost:
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 10 00 00 00 00 9E 57 00
58 A0 57 00 21 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 41 00 00 00
46 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

@mrjaredbeta the prooblem is that sometime game randomly freeze even if u don't take longer.

Also the bug weirdly only happpens on arcade mode.

also on the compatibilty list there is the following statement: random freezes at Circuit Selection on Non-BC Consoles, 4.82 Firmware - Rebug or Ferrox, seems not to manifest any freezes

can anyone make a correction for street fighter alpha anthology? I tested all versions, they have the same problem the screen freezes, but you can hear the game working.

I have not tested extensively, but the Gran Turismo 4 PAL version does play nicely and without a noticeable stuttering. The 50 Hz gaming could be the way to go, when it comes to the emulation of demanding games. Remember to lower the brightness value in the display settings from +3 to 0.
