PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

I was watching a stream from a youtuber and now just realized there is no hostile program fix for JP KH2 vanilla. Is it possible to port it over to jp when you get a chance?

@FestCl See if this config fixes Ayame mission 9/10 freeze:

Freezes continue. have you removed visual effects like fog?
Can there be any relation between the cliffs that exist in these stages of the game with the freezes?

I removed the dust/smoke effect. I really don't know what is causing the freeze though...it exists on Rikimaru's intro at the waterfall as well, so it could be something related between all of these levels.

What I could do is literally disable everything I can into one config, see if the issue is fixed, and limit it down to see what is causing the problem. I will just have to put a config together for that.

@mrjaredbeta can freeze be fixed without disable anything?

The freeze is usually caused by some effect in the game (blur, shadow, smoke, fog, etc.) not handled properly by the emulator.

Disabling these effects may help to fix the freeze, unless the freeze is caused by other reasons like incorrect math.

@aldostools from where are those configs auto loaded by webman?they don't exist on ur database.

@FestCl Try this:
Code:
3D 00 00 00 46 3D 00 00 10 00 00 00 00 00 28 00
00 00 30 00 07 00 00 00 08 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Character select will be very slow! This is normal. Try mission 9 and see if there are any freezes. If not, try mission 10 and Rikimaru's mission as well. I tested very shortly and did not encounter any freezes. I killed the first few enemies and advanced through some of the level, also left the controller sitting for about 10 or so minutes with no freezes.

If freezes are fixed, I can find the exact place where it is happening and make the game full speed again.

@Rafaelrios In this case, it seems maybe an effect isn't at fault and rather could be an accuracy problem, so all effects will be enabled should this work.

EDIT: Nevermind, I got a freeze after like 15 mins... :(

@mrjaredbeta I don't know if this will be of any help, but there are levels where the game is very stable and will absolutely not crash. The first and second levels from the multiplayer missions, both versus and co-op. And also the first Rikimaru mission, outside of cutscenes that interrupt gameplay - like the 3 samurai partying and the cutscene for unlocking a new skill, is very stable. In contrast the second mission, the castle, has a very high risk of freeze towards the end, especially if you trigger a cutscene for unlocking a new skill.

@Iron_Yan That's funny...I actually got a freeze during that exact scene you are talking about with the 3 partying samurais. I additionally got one in the next Rikimaru mission, but I agree, there are levels that do not freeze or tend to freeze much less.

It's unfortunate though...I am running out of options with this one. Might be unfixable since I have no idea what is causing the freeze. The ONLY thing I can think of is the foot dust/water effect. Every level that I have tried and that froze are levels that either have foot dust effects (Ayame's 9 and 10), or water effects (Rikimaru intro, 3 samurai cutscene where you are standing in the water at the time). This is kind of a reach, and I haven't even figured out how to disable that effect, so this game may stay as it is. :(

Yes, sorry, I phrased it weirdly, I meant that the 3 samurais cutscene has a risk of crashing the game. Regardless if you manage to fix this particular title or not, I for one thank you for trying as much as you did. This one is one of my all time favorite games. In the end of the day you can't win them all. Some of these games are bound to be unfixable.

@aldostools from where are those configs auto loaded by webman?they don't exist on ur database.

They are loaded from /dev_hdd0/game/PS2CONFIG

The database for PS2ISO is installed automatically when you install webMAN MOD or update it.

The database for PS2 Classics should to be installed manually due its size.

If you need to know if a game is in the database or not, you can check:
http://ps3.aldostools.org/ps2config.html

Working (4.86 hfw+hen.....PS2 Emulator 2.2.3 then resigned with act/idps using PS3xploit-resigner-3.0.0)

Killer 7 PAL 5060 on NTSC ps3 (hopefully the rare crashing issue is fixed in this version?)

Wild Arms Alter Code F (ctrls patched with controller remapper, and widescreen patched, pnach patcher)
(Ntsc Version) (has turncoated .iso image if you read from disk or image dump, like culdcept)
1. Read Image from Disk to .iso using "ultraiso"
2. Open the .iso with "ultraiso", you will see another .iso file in there, extract that file
3. "ps2 emulator gui 2.2.3" open that file build the .pkg
4. (resign the file with your acts/idps, using PS3xploit-resigner like normal, then install to your ps3, I used Pkg linker 2.0, to install)

................Thanks for the update on Shadow Hearts 3, unfortunately after playing that game for more then 10 hours, they games style of porn-like-kitchen-utensils finally bored me.

EDIT ("redump" iso worked fine without ultraiso for wild arms alter code F with controller and widescreen pnach values applied)

It doesnt looks like they was trying to blacklilst all the demo discs btw. Inside GX emu there are 4 configs for the "Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine Demo Disc" 087, 088, 089, 090
https://github.com/Zarh/Get_CONFIG/blob/master/get_title/result.txt (scroll to bottom, was added very late)

Im taking a look at the configs for this games for curiosity sake, are this ones:
https://github.com/Zarh/ManaGunZ/blob/master/pkgfiles/USRDIR/sys/CONFIG/GX/SCUS_973.40.CONFIG
https://github.com/Zarh/ManaGunZ/blob/master/pkgfiles/USRDIR/sys/CONFIG/GX/SCUS_973.41.CONFIG
https://github.com/Zarh/ManaGunZ/blob/master/pkgfiles/USRDIR/sys/CONFIG/GX/SCUS_973.42.CONFIG
https://github.com/Zarh/ManaGunZ/blob/master/pkgfiles/USRDIR/sys/CONFIG/GX/SCUS_974.42.CONFIG

All them are applying the same patch on top of the same data... but at different address of EE memory (with command 0x9)

Demo disc 87 (SCUS_973.40), address 0x289C1100, original data 0x0000000000000000, patched data 0000000001000010
Demo disc 88 (SCUS_973.41), address 0x389D1100, original data 0x0000000000000000, patched data 0000000001000010
Demo disc 89 (SCUS_973.42), address 0x28A81100, original data 0x0000000000000000, patched data 0000000001000010
Demo disc 90 (SCUS_974.42), address 0x78451100, original data 0x0000000000000000, patched data 0000000001000010

-----------------
It seems the patched data are just some bit flags (to enable or disable something), and seems to be related with the HDD installation of the SOCOM II expansion packs
Have you took a look at that memory address of this games in PS2DIS @kozarovv or @mrjaredbeta ?, it could be something interesting :)
