Scarface Full Framerate.

Converted the joker draw distance values config from 0,75 to 0,50
If we lower the draw distance more the game will be very ugly and is not necessary because it is achieving full speed now :)

@Major_Pothead92 This config dosen't remove anything, just lowered draw distance.

What about lowering the other values, rather than doing it in a heavy way? That joker patch should be the last hope if other ways are failing. I think it should be left untouched or slightly lowered. The 0,5 value is too agressive. There is a lot of objects pop-in nearby.

Yes i've tried every other values. With the config i sended above is the best the game can perform.
Here's some other config values i changed and tested in the game that unfortunately didn't improve :

first config :
big objects - 70
small objects - 35
trees - 100
joker - 0.60
bushes etc - 70

second config :
big objects - 90
small objects - 30
bushes - 90
trees textures - 100
joker - 0.48

Third config :
bib objects - 75
small objects - 27
bushes - 75
trees - 80
joker - 0.65

Ok, thank you for the testing. That actually gives a lot of insight. Looks like we can discard the trees and bushes settings. But according to your earlier report:

Alright, played it for 2 hours and heres the results : first config didn't show anything improved, but with second config, the Sandman's Plantation, Nacho contreras mission, Un-load, Nacho's tanker and some areas of the map showed good improvements, Babylon entrance street is the only place the netemu don't like, but no worries because PS2 struggles a little with that place too.

setting the big objects to 40 and small to 25 gave the noticeable improvement. I think we should focus on these values along with lowering the overall multiplier slightly. I am going to perform some testing in the evening.

What exactly does VSync delay do besides make games run at like 70% the speed?
That *is* what it does. It should theoretically help with screen shaking, or if the emulator can't render stuff fast enough. I found that it helps with some freezing in some games as well like Melty Blood Actress Again, although it doesn't completely fix the problem either.

Sony included the VSync delay - NO-IPU aggressive preset to Digital Devil Saga 2's official classic release and people online have complained about the slowdown and voice desync a lot. I don't see it as a good fix.

It was DDS1 that did it. And yeah, it did fix screen shaking and fps drops when there are a lot of npcs on the screen. But the cutscene desync and slowdown was so bad, it was arguably better just to deal with occasional lag than have the entire game be slow.

EDIT: I also heard the Raidou games did the same and had the same issue with being really slow.

weird i am playing this game for about 4 hour and i am not noticing any slowdown, maybe custum config?

For screen shaking sometimes (usually..) is better to patch game with deinterlacing patch. Vsync delay not slow down game itself, but delay moment of vertical synchronization. This make game feels slower, and introduce input lag. That why removing interlacing shift is better for most games.

is there any way to to make games run at 16:9 with config file? i know we have option for widescreen on ps3 but that is not true 16:9, i have seen something like patch the isos with some ps2 engine application and pnatch file but im trying to avoid that

It's because it isn't used in Dds2. It is used in the first game. And it genuinely does make the game slower(a hallway that takes 11 seconds 3ithout vsync takes 16 with for example)

Yes correct !! Ohh i completely forgot to tell you that i also changed Big objects to 40 along with joker draw to 0.50 in that config i sended above, thats why the game is achieving full framerate, pop-ins are not that distracting though, we get used to it.

i am talking about this one, maybe i am not noticing because it is a turn based rpg.

Game is running smooth, maybe it is slower compared to real hardware, but not lag at all
