Maybe, except that if you leave the webman page open you can clearly see the time counting up even though the console hasn't rebooted/shutdown.

That info is updated at 2 points.... everytime you boot (so the total boots are counted in the displayed value, even if you cut the power by disconnecting the power cable), and when you complete a proper shutdown (at this point is recorded inmediatly before cutting power, but you dont see that the counter have increased until next reboot)

Lets say... a PS3 that boots for firt time is going to have:
Total number of power-on: 1
Total number of power-off: 0

If you shut it down this first time is going to have:
Total number of power-on: 1
Total number of power-off: 1
*but the PS3 is turned off, so you cant see it

At the next boot is going to have:
Total number of power-on: 2
Total number of power-off: 1

Also... im thinking if is better to display the running time + session time (and update the values in real time), doesnt makes much difference but visually is a bit more cool because the times changes


I guess is stored inside CELL, and is imposible to reset it
Probably is one of the things they was checking at official repair services as something orientative

For some reason I got a console which had its timer reset to 0 despite the console had already suffered extreme overheating though. I don't know how that's possible but it's like someone was able to reset it

I got lucky recently because someone sold me 2 PS3s (1x C04 and 1x G04) for 45€. The C04 had 3.21 OFW and the G04 had like 4.53 OFW installed. Guess I won now ^^

The issue I want to adress is that I have no clue how it can happen that it either shows a way too high on time or a too low one as in my case. Is installing a newer FW which is already one generation ahead causing that (from 3.21 to 4.84)?
Here's an image I've made shortly after I got the console. Had to format the HDD and updated from 3.21 to 3.55 and then to 4.84.

Is a CECHA ?, in between 3.21 and 4.84 there is a syscon patch included in the firmware PUP since firmware 3.40

Maybe the installation of that syscon patch named SYS_CON_FIRMWARE_01000006.pkg resetted the time counters
I dont really know if that syscon patches resets the time counters though, this is just speculation

The other known way to reset the time counters is if the PS3 was sent to official repair services (and had a big repair that involved replacing or reprogramming syscon chip), but i guess this is not your case

It's a CECH-C04. However, I also have a CECH-L04 and patched it from 3.15OFW to 3.41 OFW and then straight to 4.84 CFW and the issue didn't occur. And I don't think that the system looks refurbished at all.

Thats the Temps/Time on for the PS3 on top. Bought it on Ebay for $30 as a YLOD for Parts or Repair. Managed to fix it using the Nec/Tokin guide on this site! Thanks for the sweet guide!

Now i have a Jailbroken PS3 that cost me $30 in 2021 (Top) and a Regular PS3 that cost me $500 in 2009! (Bottom)
 
Further updated list of kits and their syscon vs HDD stats. I've also added the syscon ID that it shows in the "more system info" screen.
I haven't personally verified this yet but I believe that the 0C16 syscon ID is for units that come with the "CXR713120-202GB" while the kits with 0B8E are the ones with the original "CXR713120-201GB" syscon.

Bought it as "BD drive not reading discs, dead HDD" for 10 EUR.

I've swapped HDD and BD from other broken Slim and it was working for 3 hours before freezing video mid game. Then it wouldn't boot again, just green light and "no signal" on TV.

I've disassembled it completely, cleaned, repasted and put back again but result was the same. I was sure RSX died, but I swapped PSU and it seems it's back to life again.
23*C in my room, 75*C Cell / RSX @ 33% fan during GTA 5 one hour gameplay.

I don't know if it's the most unlucky PS3 I could get, assuming 159 days are correct, there were 3 faulty parts - HDD, PSU and BD drive :confused3:

Edit: HDD report confirms it's ~160 days.

This is from my second hand PS3 Slim CECH-3001b. The HDD is it's original 320gb, they match almost the exact same days and hours of usage (sadly was in really bad condition, had to replace it because the system freezed all the time).

It costed me INSANELY CHEAP compared to others here in Buenos Aires Argentina, they sell like $8.000 ARS for one in the same condition without controllers or even worse than this... and I got it for some ridiculous $900 ARS, LOL (Like $10 USD).
I think this is the best purchase of my entire life, not kidding.

It came with:
-All the internal components, case and PSU in good condition, missing a lot of screws, Blu-Ray Drive w/ 1 missing gear and disc spindle, but it turns on, may fix it some day to test the laser condition.
-(2) original DualShock 3 almost in really good condition, with no drift on analog sticks, I fixed them easily... only had to clean them with sunflower oil and alcohol for the tape residue and dust, same for the console (see the picture before cleaning lol), and put more pressure on the Pads of the circuit cause buttons were acting crazy.

BONUS: A collection of dust clumps inside and tape/stickers residue.
And more dust.

It was sold "for spares" and the seller claimed he did not even tested before selling it because "HE DIDN'T HAD A CABLE"... unbelievable.
It was in Component mode when I connected it, maybe that was the reason "it wasn't working".
I have a bad feeling it could be stolen, but I have no way of ever knowing it.

It's insane is working perfectly for being this cheap, even the temperatures are really good, won't go above 55º playing heavy games like The Last of Us in a very hot room, and I didn't even made a thermal repaste...

Sorry for this long text but I'm really proud of this thing, even if it is quite used, 188 days...

So if I'm to understand this correctly this console I posted has been turned on 301 times, turned off properly 43, and crashed or shut down improperly 258 times? Jesus what the hell were they doing, pulling the plug? I knew the mileage on this one was low, but 17 hours?
Hell ten of those are from my son and I playing sonic 2 and sonic spin spinball before I put cfw on it. This is the ps3 I got from a customer whom I remodeled their bath room. They had it just sitting around and gave it to me. Think they said they used it for watching movies. Looks like they watched about 10.....lol
I've haven't used this one because I have another A01 , but it recently ylod on me. Looks like it's time to crack her open and replace the thermals. In game rsx is sitting at a cozy 63 with dynamic fan control. I'd like to find another one like this.

yeah the 258 is bad shutdowns. also it onlys saves the runtime during proper shutdown so that 17 hrs is low.
