PS3HEN [GUIDE] Properly sign SPRX and EBOOT for HEN

First off: This guide takes bits from hexLucifer's guide HERE. Second: This will not work with all SPRX such as menus
Also, i dont recommend anyone using this tutorial to cheat online and alter the experience for normal players, this is for educational purposes only.

Signing SPRX and EBOOTS to work on HEN

Requirements:
  • HEN
  • SPRX and EBOOT you want to resign
  • Aldostools PS3 Tools collection found HERE (For SPRX) (Run the installer as Admin to get the right click functions)
  • ESSE Resigner found HERE (For EBOOT, optional depending on EBOOT)
  • TrueAncestor SELF Resigner found HERE (Optional for converting DEX EBOOT to CEX)
Step 1 Step 2 Step 3

  • Step 1 - Resigning SPRX with Aldostools​
    1. Aquire your SPRX and EBOOT (Ill be using BO2 GSC Injector SPRX for this)
    2. Right click the SPRX and you will see an option called 'SELF Tools", open that menu and you will see "Resign EBOOT/SELF", click that and let the resigner do its thing
    3. Thats pretty much it for the SPRX
    You CAN resign your EBOOT using this but i have more luck using ESSE for EBOOTs.​

  • Step 2 - Resigning EBOOT​
    1. Download ESSE and put your EBOOT into the same folder with the .bat
    2. Open the .bat file and press A, it will tell you what kind of EBOOT you have, NPDRM (PSN content) or Disc Based EBOOT
    3. You will now have options to pick what conversion you what. Choose "Resign to FREE TYPE NPDRM 3.55" for PSN content or "Resign to 3.55 (NOT ODE OPTION)" for Disc
    4. Choose "Yes" for compressing EBOOT. You're done
    Transfer your SPRX and EBOOT to your PS3 using FTP. SPRX go to dev_hdd0/tmp EBOOT goes to dev_hdd0/game/[GAME ID]/USRDIR/​

  • Step 3 - Converting EBOOT from DEX to CEX if necessary​
    1. Download TrueAncestor SELF Resigner and put the EBOOT into the same folder as the .exe
    2. Open the Resigner and choose option 10 to decrypt the DEX EBOOT
    3. Choose option 2 to convert to CEX (Disc based) or option 3 for NPDRM
    4. You will now need your games ContentID, you can get this by right clicking your games original EBOOT and choosing SELF Tools/Open (View Info) and copying the top blue text (Mine would be UP0002-NPUB31054_00-CODBLACKOPS2DL00)
    5. Paste your ContentID into the Resigner and press enter, your EBOOT should now be resigned to CEX
    6. If you havent already, use ESSE to resign the converted eboot to 3.55

Hopefully I made this clear enough. Let me know if you have any questions! :)
And again, this will NOT work with all SPRX, for example with MW3, SPRX menus will work but not appear (functions can be selected you just cant see anything) this is because SPRX are supposed to be used on DEX or because HEN doesnt have the right calls for SPRX yet. Im not sure.
If you get error codes try resigning again and make sure your EBOOT is CEX!​




 
When i run the installer as an admin, after the installation is complete i close the tool and right click my sprx file and it wont show the resign sprx/eboot files so any help?

Try running the installer as admin again then running PKG_ContentID.exe in the Tools folder where the program was installed, if that doesnt work disable your antivirus and repeat those steps

Nice one, dude. Made it much more clearer than I did. I feel like this is going to stop a lot of the confusion.

1) Anything DEX won't work on HEN. HEN is more CEX (but not exactly the same as it does have a few restrictions)

2) it clearly states it won't work for SPRXs for menus. Some menus do work, but the vast majority don't. Especially non-host menus.

what is the command line for "SELF Tools -> Resign EBOOT/SELF" ??? i dont have this option on my context menu
 
Doesn't work, don't get the SELF menu when right click on file....

**EDIT** Durrhurr finally got it to work after disabling windows defender and reinstalling, associated pkg files and worked like a charm now, thanks.

I am having an issue where the EBOOT won't decrypt because it cannot:

1. Obtain klicensee for (Demon's Souls US Digital)
2. Decrypt header
3. Find Rap file in RAPS folder

Any help is appreciated.
 
you can get the klicense with the ps3. you need the rap for that. you can't do anything without that license.

if you mean the resigning in the context window, I think content id might be responsible for that option. you may have to run it as admin or make that default.
 
Thanks kapodamy, that command is exactly what I needed. Self tools aren't in context menu, but that is just as easy.
