CECHG08 supported? flasher and dumper write Triggering exploit failed
in log web server: Warning: addr not recieved
Use the appropriate thread or create one
"addr not received" has nothing to do with the exploit afaik, your Web server setup must be wrong or network problem...

Hi all,

I think i may have bricked my machine with this, i realise its all at my own risk dont worry, not complaining.

Wondering if anyone might have any good news, im unclear whether or not PS3s tend to hard brick or if there is some way of restoring them to life. I got to the stage of activating the exploit, cleared the cache and cookies before doing it, upon activating the exploit the system hard powered down and has not been able to reboot. When trying i get a second of activity followed by a flash of yellow from the activity light before settling into a flashing red light?

Is this a terminal wound, or is there something i can do?

try to go to recovery menu by front power switch.

if you've used exploit on cfw you've softbricked your ps3,you need hardware flasher to restore it.

Hi thanks for the suggestion.
I presume you mean holding the power button for the five second safe mode activation? I've tried that but sadly the same results. Is there another way?

I havent used the exploit on CFW, the machine was a retail 4.42 (i think) this morning, upgraded to retail 4.82 and ran the exploit. You are probably right that its softbricked, but if it is, its not from running it on CFW

google it,there's two steps, first keep pressing until beeps once and shuts down, then hold off, press again and keep pressing untill it beeps once, then once again, then followed by two beeeps and then you'll get into recovery.

only other scenario that results in softbrick is that you somehow managed to flash corrupted pup,and you didn't checksumed your download.

Unfortunately mine doesnt seem to follow that behaviour.

From a completely powered off state, i hold the power button and it beeps 3 times, flashes yellow once then red repeating. From there it doesnt matter how long i hold it, it doesnt give the single beep. It just continues to flash. If i release then hold it again it powers off entirely and then if i hold again it repeats step one.

It is possible that the PUP was corrupted, i didnt checksum (truthfully im not certain how). I guess i got complacent, ive soft modded all sorts of boxes, currently my PSP, Xbox360 and Wii are all softmodded. I guess i got used to it just working as intended.

if you didn't checksumed your download and flash it without it,you have only yourself to blame.

this is how you go to recovery mode:

Yes, im aware i only have myself to blame. Im not looking to find someone to blame, im asking if there is any way to recover the machine.

Blame isnt going to help anyone. Sadly that recovery method doesnt appear to work on this machine, it doesnt seem to be able to get that far

Every time I get success my ps3 doesn't shut off freezes and I waited on the success screen for 20 mins now

The only 2 ways to partially brick a console on OFW 4.82 are:
1. To flash a non compatible console (>CECH25xx with min fw > 3.56) or a console already on CFW.
2. To use a corrupted/modified flsh.hex. You must only use the flsh.hex file provided with the exploit, untouched/unmodified & before flashing the firmware you should always double check the md5 hash of the file on the USB device.

If you bricked a nor console, you can recover it with a hardware flasher. If emmc however, there's no available way to fix it for now.

i may be annoying . ahhaa but. one more question. should i update or stay on 4.81 . its been so long since i even turned my tv on.

the hack will probably be for 4.82, so you might want to update. don't update any higher than that. knowing sony, they're probably already working on a patch for the exploit.
