PS3 Han enabler corrupts PS3 themes until restart

Yeahhh, having my theme reverted when coming back to the menu after enabling HAN is kind of annoying.

Anyone have a way to not have this happen? And are the devs working on a patch to fix this?

How it happens ?, you enable HAN and the theme is removed ?, and what happens when you go to theme settings ?, the theme appears as enabled ?

Edit:
And ths problem happens... only in "static" themes, only in "dynamic" themes, or in both ?

Ive had this problem. All my officially purchased or downloaded themes corrupt. I assumed it was the same thing as not being able to use official psn games with HAN enabled.

I've also come across similar behaviour with themes and HAN.

I use a dynamic theme of a waterfall.
The part that's dynamic is just the water running off the fall, the rest of the background is static landscape.

When moving on the XMB, the waterfall part goes black. Like a big black box over the waterfall but the static landscape stays there.
Its intermittent and hard to recreate on purpose. But deffo happens often.

Other dynamic themes work fine though, so my scenario might just be one busted/corrupt theme.

I installed dynamic themes via HAN Toolbox's theme downloader (The Akiba's Trip and Growing Garden) -- they work as intended with HAN enabled or not.

Ok, i should elaborate a little more.
When i activate HAN, when it comes back from the browser window, the theme stays there, i don't know why i said it didn't xD.
But if i switch accounts, which i do when getting games on my system, or i go back to the menu after playing, it reverts to the normal theme, the wallpaper stays though (it's a custom one).
When i check the settings after this, it says "Corrupted Data" and won't apply it until i restart the system.
And i only have a static theme for now, it being the PS 20th anniversary, i don't have any dynamic themes or custom ones not from the store.

Ok, so in dynamic themes the RAF animation freezes instantly
This is what i was thinking that was happening when i was reading the first message from GeneXL talking about the problem

Ive seen other scenarios where the raf animation from inside a dynamic theme freezes itself, freezes the console or crashes it
Is not a problem of the theme, is because raf animations are very "sensitive" and sometimes gets affected by indirect ways (when you are doing some unnofficial experiment on XMB)

Dunno, this confuses me a bit because is an "static" theme, so not related with raf animations (you should extract the contents of the PS3 theme to check if there is a RAF inside though, just incase to be sure)

And to be more explicit, you are saying after the problem happens... if you go to theme settings the applyed theme name appears as "corrupted data" in the list ? (but it should not be corrupted because i guess the themes are loaded in "read only" mode, so is imposible to modify the P3T file)

My guessing was the theme was going to appear as "applyed" normally, like if nothing happened (mostly because XMB doesnt knows that the theme has stopped working)
But if you reboot it could be different, maybe at the next boot the PS3 finds the error

It's because enabling HAN basically patches the PS3's memory to use custom generated licenses instead of official Sony licenses. It would be a good idea to unpack your purchased themes and install them from a USB drive, as this negates the license requirement.

this affects only license 2 edat themes...

during han session a genuine public key is replaced by a custom one...this will render the genuine act.dat invalid (temporary!)...

you can solve this problem this way:

-get your edat theme from ps3 or 50ny store...
-get the apropriate .rif, act.dat and idps from ps3...
-on pc generate the .rap...
-on pc decrypt the edat theme (using the .rap) to raw .p3t with a public tool...
-on ps3 delete the problematic theme and install the raw one from usb...

now the theme will always work if you use han or not....

if anyonne needs personalized help them pm me...

@habib

please, add a BEWARE! section to the han info file:

licence 1 (network) psn games - not supported
licence 2 (local) edat themes - not supported (malfunction during han session)

we were unaware of any licensing issues. the source for HAN v3 has been left untouched since adding 4.82 DEX support, and should remain that way IMHO. Maybe that is something that can be done in v4 HAN, but would need discussed with the rest of the team

Funny I talked about this in my first or second thread and no one cared about it Orz
same happens to some DLC, while most of the games checks them only once others check DLC installed each boot (Persona 5, GGXRD, all Tales of for example) in some cases making them crash or refuse to load the save data (specially those whose DLC are just edat keys with all content existing on the disc >_>)

that's interesting. I know that tales of hearts r for the vita checks for dlc at every boot as well. I do own tales of zesteria for the ps4, but I can't recall if it checks for that. tbh, I'm not even sure if there's dlc for the game. I'm on 5.05, so I can't download it anyway.

I learned that with Berseria so it most likely does, the thing is, most games only check for the license of the DLC when it's added, afterwards only check if data is present, while these actually check the license validation each boot actually ignoring the integrity of the DLC package itself, for example Tales of Xillia has most of the costumes locked in the disc, however the description for them is on the DLC, if only the key is installed the costumes will be available but the description and item name will appear empty

I did buy all of the costumes for hearts. then, when I tried to use mai dump tool to decrypt them, it ended up removing pfs, like it should, but it also removed the dlc from the appcont folder. iirc, dlc done by mai dump tool goes in the game's folder in a folder labeled dlc. this only happened with that one game too. this was before we could access psn, and my account was banned from there anyway, so there was no way to retrieve that content again. :-/

there is no reason for dlcs not to work with han! (you must proper resign them and install them in the han account and use them also in the han account)

p.s. you can also fix them or use fixed ones...
