PS4 HDMI IC Panasonic MN864729 Voltages ?

Maybe the bga soldering of the southbridge did not go well ? I would not be confident at all if I had to replace a bga chip like this one.

Do you have a beep when the eject button is pushed?

Nope, nothing.

I figured I'd reflow that chip just to be safe but the worst part is that it was a repurposed chip to begin with. They sent me a new 42GG on accident and when they rushed my correct order to me (46GG), it was clearly not new. I chose the business because they said they had new 46GGs.

So now I have that thought in my head that the chip may not have been good as is. I have no way to know as the benefits I gained when I removed the old SB remained after the new (3.3v didn't go away and such).

But I still get nothing at all. I'm officially lost as to where to go from here beyond reflowing SB just to be sure and then just taking parts off and seeing what it does (lmao). Shorting the 5v and standby gives 12v but nothing works. The disc drive sounded like it started to want to do something but it was a light buzzing sound. Fan didn't spin. No sounds, no lights.

Hey, back with some new info.

Finally got a bench power supply and did a bit of voltage injection. The A04-COL2 chip is 100% bad. Basically boiled the IPA away at a little over an amp.

That's not even replaceable, is it?

I have checked the readings on the panasonic mn8647 and according to the document uploaded here I have a variation. In the lower left pin it gives me 600 and in the top 3 524 so it thinks that the fault is in that pin that marks 600, I do not know if it is the IC or it is some other element since I do not have the scheme of plate NVA-001. Can anybody help me?

Hi, I have the same problem but in a PS4 PRO,
Has anyone the schematic of the voltages to check that the HDMI ic is powered?

Man, it's so wild that you posted in this thread again because I was about to. I have the same exact board and very similar issues. I was going to get those voltages you wanted off the board I'm trying to fix and post (they may be different as I have multiple issues).

A rundown, maybe you can compare and find something similar/different:

A friend gives me a (SAE-003) Slim with no power. I first test the board and nothing with the PSU plugged in.
I then test the PSU and it gives 12v and 5v. Ok, so that's fine. Yet, no 5v even at the plug on the board or 3.3v anywhere at all.
After some detective work I find that the RT5069A chip near the Southbridge often goes bad in Slims, it handles the main 5v / 3.3v lines and I find this video that shows a lot of voltages across a different Slim board (but with many common or exact same setups):

The area around RT5069A on my board did not match at all on that diagram. Plus, the board had shorts all over it. So tons of shorts, no 5v and no 3.3v. It only had 2v (still not sure how or what creates the 2v).

So I remove the RT5069A and there is my 5v line. I can now trace 5v across most of the board outside of the 12v line (still not sure how much they mingle, if at all).
I order two new RT5069A PMIC chips and replace it. Still no 3.3v but 5v remains so the chip is good.
Then I find a blown mosfet near the front USB port on the opposite side of the board (you might wanna check that out). Hole blown right in it but removing it changed nothing.

I can't progress as is so I finally have enough of a reason to remove the Southbridge (the blown mosfet leads right to it) and there is my 3.3v line and most of the shorts are gone.

However - and this is where we may be able to help each other - my HMDI IC is shorted like crazy. Almost every pin (if not all) and the filters behind them all short. The port pins all short.
So, I know those often fail and it's not uncommon for a power surge to kill both Southbridge and HMDI IC so I remove HDMI IC.
The filters now no longer short but the insane thing is that the chip itself shows NO READINGS off the board. I've never seen a chip so damaged that it doesn't even register continuity across ground or anything. I mean not a single pin reacts to any measurement, be it diode, ohms, continuity, etc. It's bad-bad.

I'm now down to whether or not the APU is shot before I even try to order new chips for the board because I know of no known-good values for a few caps still showing as shorts somewhat near the APU. Many inductors that look like caps around the APU (under even) show as short even on good boards.

So, if you can, how about I upload an area I could have you test for me and I'll do the same for you? I'll even upload some basic diode readings for the HDMI chip and the RT5069A if those can help you.

Thanks for any time you took reading this and possibly helping.
Can you help me? At the end of the page I have write a post with my problem

Hi, I have the same problem but in a PS4 PRO,
Has anyone the schematic of the voltages to check that the HDMI ic is powered?

I found HDMI IC is powered with 1.094V.

Hello again,

I have found the answer I was looking for.

504x Vout = 1.094V approximately.

I managed to obtain this measure when I desoldered the MN864729 IC.
Before that, 504x Vout was close to zero, because MN864729 was shorted to the ground.

As far as I know, it is not. It may be replacable in the future. The ps4 encryption keys have been found, and it is basically a microcontroller, and some day someone will (or has?) dump its firmware.

Can anyone help me out with this check? I have PS4 Pro suddenly got BLOD (power on, flashing blue light and no output). My motherboard is NVB-004.
What is output voltage of voltage regular (I guess so) near HDMI port? Thanks in advanced!

I got this output on Serial Output, nothing more

I think pin 4 on this IC is not connected. Get no hints to fix BLOD now :(

Assuming you got 2v5 for hdmi, let's say hdmi is fine. I will assume is a defective apu . Let me know if you get 1.2v on power line of ic. Because of our testing in more phats which people didn't exchange thermal paste on right time at first fan throttle sign .
A scrap board where someone tried to reflow but instead shorted apu without right profile of temperature .

Usually this should be 1.08v instead of 1.2v

I got 1.053V instead on Flux 15B+. But heatsink seems pretty hot and fan starts immediately at the time I turned the ps4 on. Thanks @vyktormvmpay25

That could be a ram issue (try reflow ram) try reball Apu. Reflow ram as a reball profile with preheater and hot air. Reball Apu. Don't start/stress board anymore atm. I feel it would be saved if not a problem with software side. If you know this was working previously with ofw and not tried anything moding on software side. That model was designed with only 2 screws and can be a reball/reflow issue.
Edit, so it was thermal issue from thermic panic/paste? Or something like board bended?

I took NOR Flash out and got a dump, seems fine with BwE Not Flash Validator, is it trustworthy? It suddenly happened after upgrading to 7.50 few days ago, still on OFW 7.50.

Yes BWE is older than me on those. If you patch it for UART port and connect with mediacom an uart adapter you can use Jaicrab.v2 and get errlog 1 to 1f, if not fixed would you be able to report those errors? Also putty can show some details not very specific atm what I got in blod, can pass encryption. I will add example of debugging logs.

Can't remember if putty have to be on normal uart or mediacom but got something at one point and giveup on those research as without a good APU is pointless. As example will add here as well.

I assumed you are talking about this post https://jaicrab.org/?&a=Ps4/Tools/UART and it is brilliant cause I didn't know there are two UART ports. Now I got this error. Thanks again!

Not sure why does not work, I use windows cmd, have any?
It seems responsive is OK but there is no response from mediacom? Not sure.
It will work on standby mode as well.

Hello everyone, I have a ps4 pro model NVA-001 which lights up white but does not give an image, I have replaced the hdmi chip and it does exactly the same. I have measured some voltages that I have seen in this forum in a slim and I give you photographs with the readings that I have obtained in different pins. Could you help me solve this problem? Thanks in advance.
