How to properly spoof console ID?

Have you installed the plugin?
If not, launch the app, press select to enter the Cobra Toolbox, choose psnpatch plugin only (not webman). Press start to apply the changes
On reboot you should have a pop up message telling you PSN is locked.
Use the combo to trigger psnpatch when you're ready to (same combo as unload webMAN-MOD, look at the bottom of wMM setup page for the combo list when you cannot remember a combo).
On triggering the plugin, a pop up message will be displayed with PSN unlocked & the spoofed ids. [emoji5]️

Check the psnpatch release notes on brewology store & psnpatch general thread for more information.

FYI if you use Rebug, you need to have Rebug Mode enabled in the Rebug Toolbox beforehand.

Ya I already had that done. I have the plugin enabled but I just feel safer manually opening up PSNPatch. But ya, the R3 L3 R2 shortcut works.

The nopsn patch doesn't work anymore for most users out there unfortunately.
Basically the patched app experiences Netflix server connection errors on startup.
The only nopsn release out there that works for everyone freezes too often. It's Netflix EU 1.04, I tried patching most US & EU Netflix versions & only Netflix EU up to 1.04 will still work. I could not get hold of a EU version previous to 1.04 to test if it also freezes regularly like 1.04 though..
All the details about the problem are in the nopsn brew thread. [emoji6]

That's odd. I have Netflix-v2.26-[NPUP00030]-NoPSN.pkg and it works fine..

Same for @bitsbubba but everyone else posting here seems to have the problem now...
Including me eventually... even though the problem started later than with the others.

Sometimes have trouble finding out whether my CFW disabled or not. For some reason, my PS3 beeping sound has been on and off (even when I turn my PS3 on). Doesn't work sometimes. I have to double check by opening up PSNPatch to see if my CFW is disabled. Unsure why my beeping sound doesn't work.

could be an issue with the power switch board. I use sen enabler, and I always check to see if cfw is disabled just to make sure. my system does beep, but I always feel like checking first before I exit the app.

Remember as a general rule that you should never check directly with a brew because the info will be added to your history... ! Psnpatch & sen are both brews technically. [emoji6]

Why don't you use a browser & test if webMAN-MOD is still working instead?
http://localhost on ps3 or use the ps3 IP address from another device on your network.
Bookmark it or create a shortcut to avoid wasting time...

Or use a wMM gamepad combo...? If it doesn't work, wMM is most likely unloaded! No need for a browser. You could even use the custom combo for this to define exactly what wMM web command you would like to run to check if syscalls are disabled or if psnpatch is still loaded using a ps3mapi command...

The beeping sound stopped in one of my consoles 2 months ago for no obvious reasons. Not sure why either...

Usually check if my syscalls are disabled and if they are, I run PSNinja to delete history.

Again it's not really good practice...
How do you know for sure that psninja actually does the delete history job properly, did you check the delete outcome?
As all CFW features are disabled after psnpatch is triggered, using a brew to do most things is usually impossible or gives incomplete results.
Also this practice actually still breaks the general recommendation not to use any brews anyway... [emoji5]️

Although it's up to you what you use, we have said many times on this forum that the use of psninja is not recommended whether a handful of people are still using it or not.

PSninja is outdated & incomplete in terms of ban protection features.
Following some controversial statement recently, we checked the list of supported features & realise when comparing to psnpatch or SEN Enabler that psninja lacks one important feature in particular.

So we stick to our original recommendations, backed up by most advanced users & devs anyway, that psnpatch or SEN are the only fully featured tools to be used to prepare a CFW for PSN use.

For this, I made a new PSN account which I exclusively use for netflix. Suppose I want to use another PSN account, would I need to change my PSID or is it safe to use both accounts with one PSID (the one that PSNPatch spoofs)?

In theory, the way things are atm, the account's previous history should not matter..

What do you mean exactly by associated risks being the same? Can you explain?

The risks being the same as using the account I am currently using for Netflix. You said before that the risk of getting banned is the same whether you use the account for Netflix or games, with the exception of select games.

Edit: I was planning on playing GTA V.

It's difficult to forecast in what manner you would get banned if it ever happened.
Some people got the full psid/idps & PSN account (and possibly the gaming account) ban but others got away with different combinations.
Some of the latter managed to retain a working id.

Am far from an expert on modded games but AFAIK the biggest ban danger comes from there.
For some of those games, you should look at using an anti ban eboot as well for example...
Make sure you follow the advice of reliable fellow modders & you should be able to keep the risks to a minimum...

Of course if your psid ever gets banned with one account, the other account should still be fine but inaccessible from the ps3 until you can spoof a new psid....

Not going to be modding just playing a session with a couple of friends.

I'm living dangerously. I have the same psn account across my vita, ps3, and ps4 mostly for ps plus free games. I don't game on the ps3, so I think I'm pretty safe. I do use sen enabler every time though while before I wasn't. I've never encountered a problem. I mostly use the ps3 to transfer ps plus games to my vita while the ps3 ps plus games can't be downloaded due to inadequate space. that's certainly caused a problem with my recent humble bundle purchase. I may just give the games away on here. :)

Fine. Much less risky but still the same rules basically apply...

Most games won't be a problem, same risk as Netflix which is extremely low.
It's generally those same very few titles which are trickier to deal with though. If you stay away from those you will be fine as long as you follow the usual steps.
But, if, for instance, you insist on playing some of the cod titles, then be extra careful & glean information for that particular title.
