PS3 *Install All Packages* ( the order of witch manager will install first)

no idea. I haven't modded and researched the ps3 in years. I don't even think I've even used puad or rco mage on my computer.

Hve you tryed by starting the pkg filenames with a 3 digits number code ?

1st ) 001_gamename.pkg
2nd ) 002_gamename.pkg
3rd ) 003_gamename.pkg

And so on... up to 999
I will try but i try with (pkg have just param.sfo,icon0.png and pic1.png)
Sleeping dogs
Snipee elite 3
Tekken 6

Install sleeping dogs then tekken then sniper elite

i tri as you say i have 30pkg i rename from 001_ to 030_ it install 022_ first so the order can't be sure of it :/

you need an app to change time created. that's recorded in the metadata. it's also what the folder is named during installation.

how is exactly, do you mean when installing folder will be named INS_xxxxx and when a user try to delete it will be DEL_xxxxxxYYYY-MM-DDxxxxx

those are the temp folders. they're even in the metadata. I think that's possibly the reason why an hdd shows incorrect free space after deleting something.

why there isn't a normal sort code in any of xml or rco like we have in game column and game data utility ?!

don't know. I assume that it's set up to install one game at a time, so time created, title, are meaningless. I can't believe there's not even a usable sorting method with games already installed.

the sorting method, how it's derived, is from the metadata file. it has time of installation. iirc, it's one of the first things listed for each game that's installed, so the system uses that information to sort content. I have no idea why alphabetical isn't listed. the psp suffered from the same mistake.

so we will just have to find a way to edit the metadata right ?

I think the metadata is just for things already installed. I'm not sure how to sort content that's about to be installed.

yup metadata is some thing after the database reconstruction (reorganization) but when we install a pkg 4 pkg will be called and none of them have option to sort to alphabet

I think the total size of content is recorded, possibly in the metadata. if you check the size of a game, it reads the files in the folder. I think this is to speed up reading the file content by using common files. the 360 doesn't do this, so it's slow as hell to read content.

Dude, forget about the metadata of the xmb databases, the timestamps in the databases are generated based on:
"time installed"
"time accessed"
"time created"

But if you are going to install a PKG that has not been installed before then there is no timestamps for it in the database until you install it
The timestamps of the database are generated after you install it

-----------------
Anyway, the idea of the timestamps is not so bad... is just you are focusing in the wrong direction, what you can do is to "fake" the timestamps of the PKGs in PC
I remember to use a command line tool in PC for that... but i dont remember the name

Try to open the folder with the PKGs in PC, and in the windows settings change the view mode to "details", and enable the 3 different timestamps that exists:
-date modifyed
-date created
-date accessed <--- this one doesnt matters

I try this also and not works i make game update time superior to game pkg time so normaly ps3 must install the game pkg then the update pkg but the reverse happens so i think we can't catch this Install All sort algorithm !

Im not sure about this, I guess its not random but who knows, I have seen randomness before on the ps3.

Here is one place I have seen it. My CFW Toolbox application installs about 20 applications in one go, it just copies all the data into the game folder with xai_plugin and then rebuilds the database. Well every time I do that, the apps end up in a different order on the XMB, seems to be random. You would think it would copy in the same order every time and then the database rebuild would find them in the same order every time, but no.

Have you tried this, if you just throw like 20 random small packages on there, is it always the same order? If it is always the same, you need to do that, and then analyze the order and the packages to find the difference. Try things then like repacking 1 package, and renaming 1 package, to see if that changes the order, its probably simple enough if its not random.
