Just did a PS3hen conversion: iso won't show up and hen at times fail

Hi all

I just modded my old time ps3 after 7 years of ownership. My main reason for modding it is to have all my games on internal or external hard drive, because I am concerned about the internal disk drive failing.

I followed these instructions here: https://www.psx-place.com/threads/tutorial-ps3hen-the-great-ps3-hen-all-in-one-guide.24369/

All seems fine, except few issues:

1) from my understanding, the exploit require you to enable it every time. I was hoping it would work like the Vita exploit (Enso), but it is not a big deal. I just hope at one point, the exploit can be executed at boot.

2) Webman mod reset my PS3 when I run it; not sure if that is normal or not

3) Multiman boots fine; I can copy disks on my internal drive but it does not see external drives as ExFAT or NTFS; I recall the PS3 being able to see only FAT; and that makes a bit of a problem to manage images. Also the ISO made in Irisman can't be recognized in Multiman, it just see the games I copy via Multiman. Is that normal?

4) Irisman works fine; except that often it hang, especially after I play a game and quit the game. The PS3 does not shut down at that point, the green light blinks and it makes fast beeps when I try to shut it down...I have to unplug the AC to get that fixed. Also I noticed that when you play a game ripped with Irisman, it show up on your PSN activity, which is a risk for ban, even if I am using my own games ripped from my own disks. Is there a way to turn that off; beside completely log out of PSN when using PS3Hen?

I am confused about why ISO made with Irisman won't work with Multiman, and since it takes a long time to create those images from disk; I would like to make the effort once :) Also what do you suggest between putting a bigger drive in the PS3, versus use an external one (or a mix of both)?

Thanks!

1- Maybe but st this time no I'm afraid.

2- Update the the latest webMAN 1.47.21 should fix issue. If it's the installer that's is supposed to happen just hold L1 upon install.

3- Ensure drive is formatted MBR and not over 2tb in size. Also ensure you are using the latest patched versions of each multiMAN by @Joonie and his IRISMAN fix. If using Managunz use the version by him based off @kozarovv fixed variant

4- The new HEN 2.2.0 fixes issues like that. We are a small group testing and even smaller doin the work. But rest assured it's all being worked on literally 24 hours a day by many talented devs. This is new territory for everyone but one they are very passionate about.

Thanks, it is really appreciated that you guys put in time and efforts in this.

While I understand that the PS3 is dead, I don't see reasons for dismiss it yet. Still got a ton of games that I have yet to finish to play, or play again.

For multiman, the update say "0.0.0" as version; I didn't update it since it looks like a weird build number. I have installed the version that was linked in the tutorial; so I assume it is pretty recent.

I will give a try to HEN 2.2.0; Not sure which version I have.

Will try to launch webMAN with L1; I was pressing X to start it, as I do with all the other apps.

So far it seems that copying games from multiman to the internal drive is also allowing irisman to see them. That's fine for me, although I see the 500 GB disk shrink more and more... can't say if an ISO occupy less space than the files copied as is on the internal HDD.

2.2.0 isn't out yet we are BETA testing so sit tight. And webMAN press X to start it then hold L1 till it reboots. Then there is no need for that to be on your PS3 you can delete it. webMAN is the new folder that says "My Games" it's a way of loading disc based backups from the XMB. That PKG just installs and updated it buddy. Then put your games where they need to be like PS3ISO for PS3 games etc. Always use ISO it has 100% compatibility where as folder format does not. Takes a few extra minutes but it's worth not having to troubleshoot games. Then refresh from webMAN settings and reboot. Then you can mount your game and play right from the XMB.

If you are lucky enough to have a cech25xx with a minver of 3.56 or lower you should opt to use cfw instead.
Your ps3 might (since you said 7 years old) be compatible. Download minver check update file or go to hybrid firmware settings, service tools, display minimum downgrade. If it displays 3.56 or lower your good to install cfw.
If it's 3.60 or higher use ps3hen. Here's the official guide: https://www.psx-place.com/threads/p...mpers-v2-0-1-now-install-cfw-from-4-84.23123/

Here's the best cfw: https://rebug.me/official-rebug-4-84-2-rex-d-rex-cobra-8-1-toolbox-2-03-02-mar-29th-2019/

Ooh, if I backup my ps3 games with Irishman, none of the other file managers recognise the iso. In PS3ISO folder
I'm using PS3Hen. And latest Irishman.

Strange, try and use Multiman 4.82-hen to rip them. What model is your ps3? Have you checked the minver? It is very strange that multiman is not finding Irisman games.
Like I said try and rip with multiman hen. If you have a cfw compatible model install cfw instead of hen.
