PS3 ManaGunZ - PS3 Backup Manager by Zar v1.41

atreyu187 kozarovv
I wanted to have all the path of files inside the ISO but finally I will just use the function "extract_ISO" from iris and i'll mod it to do what I want

atreyu187 Thanks, I'll send you the debug version in PM.
For games in JB format, copy the .bat file to the path that contain the game (PS3_UPDATE , PS3_GAME). It create two files: file_list.txt and path_list.txt. Erase the .txt and .bat files after you are done.

plz,
Can you try to uninstall and reinstall the homebrew ?
Can you tell me what are the folder&file inside your device & hdd0 (inside scanned folders) ?
Can you tell me if it's working without the usb device ?
Can you try a debug version with more detailed log to figure out exactly what's going on ? (if yes, i'll give you the link in PM)

thanks again.

Reinstalled and held boost button and it now works. Thanks

Good you found a way to get the filetree from the iso Zar i cant help with that, all i know is there is a toc, and i imagined the ps3isotool estwald made uses some function to manage it (and is the same code inside iris) but dont know much
If you need some help with iso management, maybe Rudi Rastelli could help because he is used to this code (he made a gui for estwald ps3isotool)

Zar I cannot get Tekken 6 running, any ideas why. (dump from disc, multiMAN never had issues.) Also just noticed that I cannot dump a game from disc or am I to be shot for missing something obvious LOL

What are ur game settings ? did u try to change it ? for example : Payload = MM with BD-EMU ?

About dumping the dev_bdvd, you can't, only because I didn't think about it ;). I'll add it inside the file manager. (Right now, I think you can do it, by using the copy/paste functiun).

BTW, I still don't know when I'll be able to work on the next update... I started something to support IRD files... but it still a WIP. (yeah, I did nothing since the last update :s).

No worries about updating. It's your project and is meant to be a fun one when time permits. We all get busy with real life :) Regarding the settings. I have tried them all. The game is dumped onto my external 2TB with about 20 other games and the only one that I have noticed not working was Tekken 6. (when my nephew wanted to play it.) It loads to a black screen and gives the usual auto save warning, then goes to black screen and remains so. I have to quit the game using the PS button.

What I will do when I'm at home again is go through everything regarding the game and get back to you. I don't think I messed with any files though. It is a very old dump back in the 3.55 ish days and was functioning with multiMAN right up to CFW 4.x. I can redump and see but I rather investigate a issue before copping out. And if it is a Managunz issue I'm sure you would like to squash a bug.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Tekken have a big file (4GB+).

Is your backup an ISO ?

If it's not (so, it's in a folder), I think your issue is probably comming from the big file (4GB+). ManaGunZ do not support splitted files *.66600.
It's working with MultiMAN because it join the big file inside a cached folder in internal and then it redirect path of the file from the internal to the dev_bdvd.
For now, you can only make it working with ManaGunZ in external by converting it in (splitted) ISO.

That is probably it then. The backup is in JB folder format, not ISO. I will try converting to ISO when I get home and then try again. Thanks.

atreyu187 any feedback ? i sent u a debug version did u try it ? I'll work on it soon so it will be great if u can test it before I start updating the homebrew ^^'

Swore I posted back here already. The debug pkg you sent works great. In fact after installing it reinstalled standard pkg back over it and works without a hitch now.

Zar you do realize mm nice screen is reluctant not only on the self and the bd mirror is also part of the sprx aswel right? I know the functions and how they work and can be easily done in a nice format. You have a good manager so much respect for your work. The cobra payload is actualy realy simple once you have the source and understand how it works. It takes time to go thro to realize it's not what every1 is using right now. You also may want to look into Netkas and Flukes1 syscalls

sry i didn't understand...

(perhaps you are asking if the "BD-MIRROR" use the sprx? No, it's not. The BD-mirror is a "trick" to switch 2 device directly in the lv2. for example, "dev_usb000" become the "dev_bdvd". That's why we also move the game folder in the root of the device. The sprx is only for "BD-EMU")

For this one, ty:

For the last one, it's peek & poke syscalls ( 6 & 7), it's already included in every CFW what can i do ? (you can already disable these syscalls in game settings).
You also may want to look into Netkas and Flukes1 syscalls

I don't know about the FAN Control payload, i never used it. I don't know how it's work when the homebrew is not running for example. Perhaps it would be better to use a sprx to manage it... i need to think about it (same for the FTP, I think that a sprx is a the best solution (like webMAN) but a sprx just for the FTP and another just for the FAN control, but the size will be higher iff we use them both... I need to think about it, that's why i didn't include it yet...

i have to agree, The fan controller in apps i do not feel is very useful these days. The task is better in a plugin such as the case with the Dynamic fan controller as the sprx is always running.

Flukes1 and netkas can be added directly into your manager I'm aware what's in cfw these days but adding this will give you better options of bd mirror I also looked into adding ability of being able to poke into the memory where any tests shod be performed for any kind of hard mods. There is a page based on 3.55 on flukes1 explaining how to perform but can also be added into a manager. But thanks for the info mate as always appreciated four hard work on your manager. I utilize a much different way of poking into the system to apply patching which gives a more stable way without having to directly to go into the ram but each of us utilize different kinda system. By doing it this way I found the that there is nothing that can stop from patching anything and is reliable without causing harm to the system or adding more stress to it. Just member you can use these kinda patching systems not just to a manager but opens up more possibilities to do things if you can see it. I discovered this back when cobra dongle were out but also use it on standard fw aswel

I agree too, fan controll is something that needs to be made when the console boots, is good to have it inside backup managers incase we are not running a cfw with plugins support... but overall i dont consider it important to have it working in backup managers

The FTP though.... is something very related with filemanagers (and backup managers has filemanagers), personally i think having FTP working permanentlly at boot time with a .aprx is a bad idea
There are scenarios where it can create problems... as example... when playing a game backup (located in internall hdd or external usb) and at the same time using FTP to write files to the same device
This example of combined reads/writes from/to the same device can create problems of lag... very slow writes, and even can stress the hdd so much mechanically in his internal parts

Btw Zar can you tell something about progress with managunz ?, specially about the suggestion i made to implement the full .sfo support to solve the "problem" of priority
I know you liked the idea but have you started working in it, or you plan in working with it ?

I ask because there has been talks in eol spanish forum between the 3 mantainers of: hybrid manager (by billgates), monster manager (by faxtron) and play manager (by slash)
They are planning in merging the projects to join forces... but is something that has not been decided yet... dont take my words as a new or 100% correct... im just commenting what is happening in eol spanish forums. The most probable thing is they will merge

The reason why i ask you about sfo support is because bill gates (from hybrid manager) was thinking in implementing an alternative solution to make the change of priority in the .sfo ... i advised him to wait for you to see if you are working in it because working in paralell is like reinventing the wheel
Also... probably im not skilled enought to understand the process... but can you explain what you do to get the payload for new firmwares ? (they doesnt have 4.75 support as far i know)
I remember to read somewhere you was taking it from one of the _NzV_ plugins ?... do you have this "porting" of the payload automated in some way ?

Actually, faxtron (from monster manager) is registered here, i hope he reads this message and your explain because we was talking about your payload and he was interested in how are you doing it

sandungas I agree with fan control, this can't be app. Until is not loaded on start of system is useless. But i disagree about ftp. This is one of must have features in webman (or any "at boot" sprx), it can do some slowdowns but i assume you know what you doing by playing and ftping. But anyway i don't remember how is done now, but ftp should be just turned off in default installation, you want it? Turn it on. And one more thing is that ftp on start many time save my ass, when i messed up my vsh in some crazy tests. I know there is recovery etc, but my xmb was unique and doing all this staff again wasn't simple. When my ps3 stop on epilepsy warning i discover that i have ftp connection with dev_blind enabled. With this i repaired my vsh many times without lost of my mods.

My worry is about the special cases where a combination of FTP access to hdd (internal or external and with read or write) + the system access to the same hdd collides
Allowing FTP permanently to the user is like giving him 100% freedom, in this sense is ok, but in the practise you cant expect all the users to understand there are some scenarios where reading and writing to the same hdd is a bad idea (sometimes even knowing it is hard to imagine when this is happening)
A solution could be to prevent this scenarios by hardcoding some "prohibited" combinations in the FTP... but as far i know there is none, and i cant imagine a way to do it (well, maybe by locking FTP automatically when a game is running, but needs to be locked only for the device the game irs running)

Dunno, there are too much combinations
