Mounted games not showing

When i play a PS2 Games and switch back to a PS3 Games my fan goes up to 95 % speed and stays there until i reboot. Even only loading the Games without playing them has the same effect. Weird...

My cech-2004a does the same thing. Disabling and re-enabling dynamic fan control fixes it for me.

@Metalomeus

Probably because PS2 discs are mounted after coming back from PS2 emu, it's one of those webMAN MOD's feature, you can disable auto mount previous titles as well.

@aldostools I think there was an issue like this on wMM in the past.

Just to add; I'm using sMan 1.12.

It's not that big of a deal and tbh I've never thought about it until I saw @Metalomeus's post. ;)

When PS3 enters PS2, its fan settings changes due to syscon, @sandungas can explain it better for you.

I think dynamic fan controller kinda affects this as the fan setting wasn't supposed to change all the time.

If you use WMM, you can manually set the RPM to a constant speed, I use 40% for PS2, and there will be no problem with an accelerating fan, this is not a error.

I am not sure why there are so many issues with webMAN MOD lately.

This is the main reason why I took it off from REBUG since I got so many reports from webMAN MOD related issues that were not related to the CFW itself.

returning to the xmb on my system is much slower than in your video. it will show this blue and yellow rectangle, then it will show the particles of the wave for a few moments, then finally I'll be on the xmb. it says nothing about webman loading. :(

Indeed, when I watch a video by Joonie and think that it really works more quickly on turning the function on and off.

Check your hdds guys. For me it seems to be standard speed.
@pinky about your issue. Do you have ANY syscall disabling option turned on? Because is possible that webman have issues after you exit game because of that.

I will tell you that when Joonie suggested checking the older version of wmm 1.45.11, and I can say that the older version works more stable and faster than 1.47.08, but it can be a subjective feeling.

I don't believe so. is there an option for that in webman mod? my boot_plugins only has the web ftp server .sprx and the vsh menu sprx. . are you asking me about my hdd? it could be the hdd since I don't even use the system. it might be having issues from nonuse.

unknown. neither version works for me. I did the uninstall in the browser, and I started fresh. I then tried deleting the files manually and altering the boot_plugins.txt . I've even tried both versions and nothing.

The explain in short is something like this...
When entering PS2 mode "the scene" is taking advantage of a "bug" non intended by sony to be used that way. It works by sending some fan speeds manually in a non-standard format to syscon chip... when this happens the syscon fan speed control gets "stucked" and kept at that fan speed permanently (until reboot or unplug power cord to reset syscon)

I guess the plugin "wakes up" syscon when you unload--->load the plugin doing the fan controll (without need to reset syscon)

Eh, What's up doc?

Unless the user is installing an older version of wMM, I don't see any line of code in the current updater adding wm_vsh_menu.sprx to boot_plugins.txt

Indeed only 7 lines write to boot_plugins.txt, and all are the sprx of wMM:
"main.c"(724,3): fputs("\r\n" PRXLOADER_USRDIR "/webftp_server_noncobra.sprx", f);
"main.c"(842,4): fputs("\r\n" PLUGINS_DIR "/webftp_server.sprx", f);
"main.c"(846,4): fputs("\r\n" HDDROOT_DIR "/webftp_server.sprx", f);
"main.c"(919,4): fputs("\r\n" PLUGINS_DIR "/webftp_server.sprx", f);
"main.c"(922,4): fputs("\r\n" HDDROOT_DIR "/webftp_server.sprx", f);
"main.c"(975,4): fputs("\r\n" PLUGINS_DIR "/webftp_server_noncobra.sprx", f);
"main.c"(977,4): fputs("\r\n" HDDROOT_DIR "/webftp_server_noncobra.sprx", f);

well, wmm is still creating that line in boot_plugins . I really don't understand why I'm having this problem. I have no other plugins. I've done a fresh install from deleting/uninstalling wmm from the browser. no change. I'm not sure if it's an option in wmm causing it or not, but I have the default options aside from a password, dev_blind enabled, and dynamic fan control at 65 degrees C. it couldn't be the amount of content I have, could it? would that affect wmm at all? I have hundreds of psn content on an external hdd. I robocopied the PARAM.SFO , then rebuilt the database to have everything installed without actually installing it. I have one ps3 game in jb format, and around seventy-five ps2 games. I've tried various ps2 games, and they all yield the same result. the ps3 is also slower than in that video when it comes to exiting a ps2 game. it shows the particles for a few moments, then the xmb. I did use sen enabler to spoof back on 4.81. could that also be a problem? but why would it follow me to 4.82? maybe wmm mod doesn't like those things. apparently, this problem happens on ferrox, habib, and rebug. could my hdd be dying? ..but then why would only affect ps2 games?
