Jailbreak went fine and added a hole bunch of games to my 2T external HDD in a map called GAMES but the small internal HDD-folder called games is getting full, question, will it work if i move that folder to the external HDD?

Yes.... its called external game data > webMAN MOD has it, MultiMAN has it etc.

The problem is that game's tend to run like a bag of crap if you move the games Install Data/DLC/Update Data in this folder to an external HDD.

What this does is tell the PS3 to look for this folder on an external device, basicaly mounting the games folder externally. But is not worth it, games lagging, crashing etc... it will drive you up the wall. You'd be better off getting a bigger internal HDD for your PS3.

Still no. :D He doesn't ask about remapping path but moving directory (which is hardcoded as the only place for cache/patches/dlc/games). Two different things.

The you need to learn to read between the line's about what people are asking.

So because some does not specificaly ask about something means you will not give them info "Highly" related to what they are asking about, is clearly sort of new to this then you won't give them any info about something that may be of use to them..?

How sad and not the best way to help people out at all. Basically your saying no it cannot be done no when in fact it can be done but requires something to do it.

So webMAN's/MultiMANs external game data utility would be an option to do EXACTLY what they are asking about but is not worth it because of the way it lags game and cause's issue's.

So it's STILL YES... it CAN be done....simple as.

Maybe You have some right but why peoples not start asking precisely what they want? And in case if they do not know the environment, then at least they could reveal more details about what they want to achieve (no matter by which method).

Sometimes they doesnt knows how the explain what they wants :)

Anyway... the problem with external gamedata is that there are some games that doesnt allows it
So if you are the kind of person that you want to learn one method and use that method always for 100% of your games (and have 100% success) the external gamedata feature is not for you because eventually you are going to have some problem with some specific games

Otherway if you dont care about using multiple different methods to load your game backups... yeah, there are many games that allows it, you can try and see what happens

Btw, with some of the mount options in backup managers happens the same (like the direct boot, or special combinations of settings), are methods that doesnt achieves a 100% compatibility because only some games allows to use them... but is good to have them

gamedata tool requires fat32 as well, so if you have large files cached to the internal hdd, you'll be in the same boat.
