PS3 NoPSN Apps

@venom7107 yep I meant the official one. I gad it, I tried and it doesn't work for me. :( Aren't you sure that you're not connected to PSN on startup. PS3 use to keep the connection active and you won't notice unless you manually disconnect.

@bguerville I keep your advice in mind for next time, thanks.

101% sure I am not connected to PSN. The app doesn't even ask me to log in anymore. I just start it up, it loads and that's it. Besides, I wouldn't be able to login to PSN anyways, banned CID.

And this is the latest Netflix app. The GUI has changed for me a bit.

Nothing. Nothing at all. If you guys want, I can send the exact details of the app I have. The GUI has changed a bit when are you watching something. I'l attach a picture or two soon to show you how it is.

New build seemingly..
Weird that @Nomeji's Netflix did not update... Was the console connected to Internet? It should have asked to update...
You tried both EU & US?

I never had time to look at Netflix. Too busy with the Rebug release tests...maybe tonight..

Back when I had PSN access, I downloaded the app directly from the store. It downloaded the 2.25 app and then asked to update to the latest. After doing that, it never asked for an update, but the interface changed from when I first installed it. I installed the app back in September, but the UI build is from early this month, even though I never directly updated the app.
 
Hmmm.. That is very strange...
Could you compare the files in your installation directory with the ones extracted from the 2.26 pkg? They should be the same if it did not update..

Yes, I tried both versions and they are both in 2.26. Here is the screen from the US version. It's exactly the same!

It's looking like your version as a "bug". Can you send your app folder?
 
Hi all, I have been testing a little trick with the european netflix app (1.13) and it seems to work almost perfectly (over a week I have only had 1 freeze, and only when I was in the menu. I have test this with movies, series, etc).

Also, I have noticed that the European netflix app version is less optimazed than the USA. I dont know why...

OK, here is the way you need to prooced to test it. I would like to thank @venom7107 for suggesting to test the original netflix app, and specially @bguerville, cause without his nopsn netflix, I could have nerver used netflix anymore :)

First, you need to install the Netflix EU v1.04 spoofed to v1.13 noPSN.pkg

Then you need to login, and when you succeed, exit netflix. After that, you need to instal the original European netflix app v1.13

And that should do it. simple as that ;)

Let me know how it works for the rest of you (havent test this with the USA netflix version)

Duhhh... I told someone in this forum to try this trick months ago & it was reported as not working at all so I never looked back.. NVM.
Thanks to @glecon who took it upon himself to test further, here is a neat trick that should be useful for many nopsn Netflix users.

We would need confirmation from users around the globe that this is working everywhere... So please guys, report your findings...

hi there!!!

I just did it. get stuck on PSN login. First, Press CIRCLE to choose my netflix profile but i must login on psn. I chosse LOGIN to PSN Acccount and says me to Update my system.
Im using a 4.80 Rebug Vers.

You cannot connect to PSN with 4.80 without spoofing the fw version. You have 2 options:
1. Use SEN Enabler 6.0.3 just once (patch all) to spoof the firmware version.
2. Upgrade to Rebug 4.81.1

i use to use a No Psn netflix pkg that gives me the PSN login screen but pressing CIRCLE continues to the netflix profile. that pkg now gets the UI error. thats why i was looking another version that works properly. the 1.13 EU freezes or must login every time i open it
 
AFAIK the EU 1.13 installed directly cannot be used at all without PSN even when patched.

The EU 1.04 spoofed to 1.13 works without PSN but freezes too often for some people however the freezes occur while streaming not on login.

Have you tried the trick described in post #611?

yes but it takes to the psn screen login. i cannot go on from there.

Ok so either you are doing something wrong or the trick does not work... You are not supposed to get the PSN login screen according to this tweak report.
You are supposed to log into Netflix (not PSN) with EU 1.04 spoofed/patched nopsn then update to official 1.13.
But if you are asked for PSN login after updating to 1.13 then it defies the purpose, it is not a nopsn solution & in that case there is no need to install EU 1.04 at all previously because it makes no difference...

You could also try the same steps EU 1.04, login to Netflix then update to EU 1.13.. but using the nopsn version of EU 1.13 instead of the official version to see if it makes a difference.

ATM I don't have a working Netflix account anymore so I am afraid I cannot test this or validate the trick like I used to be able to do...

Could someone else with a Netflix account test the tweak in post #611 as well & report?
