For mass effect 3 PSN US NPUB version, the extended cut DLC doesnt have a rap file, will it work if i just run it with the resigner and install it on my ps3? Its a free dlc but i dont know what version the store downloads for me and there is no way to check if it dlc is active ingame till i reach the end.
Hey, I just wanted to say that I think I found the reason for my problemsOk, it probably is the right one then.
I just wanted to add to this tutorial. It might be nice if the PS2 Classics converter had the option to include a .pnach file (which contains code that makes the game playable in widescreen 16:9) I just thought about it recently and started converting my own games so they are 16:9, and not stretched, which they look horrible. How I wish I knew about that in the first place so I don't waste my time installing them for a second time.
If they added the option to include a CONFIG file for any game, why not adding this? it would be a nice addition, since there are widescreen patches for almost every ps2 game, specially the good titles.
I don't know if this is the same thing but you can edit the param.sfo to allow for 16:9 wide-screen.
I don't know how this works though or if it is even the same thing as pnach
Going from 16:9-4:3 makes sense to me,

So is this actually adding rendered space on the screen or is this stretching to fit the screen?

I would hope its not stretching the image because the ps3 already has this feature.. Not to mention that method makes yodas head look flattened outXD
The param SFO editor doesn't add true widescreen to the games, only stretches them to 16:9. Here's the difference when you apply a pnach patch file to a ISO.
I just found out this weekend about these patches, some guy named pelvicthrustman created a set of tools to modify PS2 ISOs in a variety of ways, and among them was a tool called PS2 Patch Engine, which was the one I used to use said patch files on my ISOs. So I decided to give it a go and see if any patched game would work as a PS2 Classics pkg file on the PS3, and yes it did, and the results are pretty awesome.
Nice post like this are always welcome and let the guys know that they are appreciated. Everyone likes to be shown some love sometimesHey man, I just made an account on here just to thank you.(As well as the excellent team that worked on this project!)
I've been up all night following this very detailed tutorial, and without fail, successfully installed my first PSX backup!
The internet could truly use more people like you.
I apologize for all the ass kissing, but it comes from the heart!
Now I can continue to preserve my library, in a playable format. Alot of my old games were destroyed back in highschool.
I made the mistake of bringing them to school, and a dude that used to torture me got into my bag and found them...
I got in quite a bit of trouble over it, but he never bothered me again. xD
One last time, I'll say it.
THANK YOU!!!
(Sorry for the dramatic comment, I'm just excited that I was finally able to do this.)
Nooooo. Not on pm, that's why we have a forum.feel free to contact me (Preferrably by PM).
Partially they are, but if there is a reason, or time gap, is ok to double post. I never understand some forums where for example you can't add something to old thread, just because is old (greetings to pcsx2 forum, protip: close those kinds of thread automatically), or double post after some time, etc. Just keep using common sense, and you will be fine.(If my continuous posts are against the rules, I apologize and please correct me.)
