PS3 Official PS3HEN v3.3.0 + HFW Released for 4.91 Firmware from Team PS3Xploit

The Official PS3HEN exploit has been updated to v3.3.0 with some new changes from @esc0rtd3w and @Joonie of Team PS3Xploit to support 4.91. Also, developer Joonie has brought back the webkit exploit from 4.82 to 4.91 with the official HFW release (HFW = OFW with old webkit injected). Its best to use the official HFW when using the official PS3HEN release.​

PS3HEN is an exploit useful for PS3 Console's that do not have the ability to install a CFW ( those later Slim & SuperSlim Models). While it can be installed on all PS3 Models, PS3HEN is not as powerful as Custom Firmware is on your console, but PS3HEN is not far behind and has plenty of features to get the most out of your console. Next up (for CFW user's), we should see soon (be patient - testing) bguerville's PS3 Toolset updated for CFW user's who may of accidentally updated to 4.91 Official Firmware (OFW) or by wrong advice elsewhere installed a HFW by mistake (some unofficial ones floating around with wrong advice). Or simply trying out CFW for the first time and are on 4.91 OFW.

I noticed you didn't say whether you had a disc in the drive either.

Remove any disc and unplug anything from USB just to test.

It's a network problem. Bguerville explained it to me once. I have the same issue at my mom's. I need to disable the internet in the settings menu so I can enable HEN. Otherwise, I can spend all day trying to enable it with no success.

Alternatively, I tether my phone's 5G to the console, and it enables in the first try.

Disable your internet connection via settings than enable hen, it should work.

 

Well, I have some troubles with my PS3, cause I want to dump my IDPS.hex and Act.dat, so I tried to use a lot of options that are aviable into the website. The thing here is this: I accidentally open BGToolset with my PS3 hen not-enabled and now everytime I try to open Multiman my PS3 just pop and turn off. What can I do to fix this T_T?

 

Counting you have enough time to do it:
Open the browser, push triangle and delete cookies, and cache. Then go to favourites and remove the BGToolset if it's already there. Finally push triangle again, and go to URL https://ps3xploit.me, and close the browser.
If you cannot do it, probably you have to reset the console's configuration to default, but I hope someone else could give you some other ideas to avoid that.

I think you have something else going on. The BGToolset works with and without HEN.

Try removing multiman and reinstall it maybe.

Edit: The BGToolset should be able to dump IDPS, but I don't remember if it dumps act.dat also. The dumper on ps3xploit.me I also don't remember if I updated that for 4.91. I can check it and update it in the next few days if not.

This is not understanding what HFW actually is.
HFW is nothing but OFW files.

If HEN was executed then HFW is doing all the task it was designed for. HFW is 100% OFW files. 99.9% from 4.91 and .1% from 4.82. (the .1% being the webkit from 4.82 being replaced in the PUP, to bring back the hole patched in 4.84 firmware)

Any issue would be related to PS3HEN if they are issue's.

I see you like making multiple posts about a non-existent issue. You commented on the HFW 4.89 resource as well.

You would think after thousands of installations this would be noticed. I am leaning on you have a bad hard drive or other hardware issue.

Maybe take a step back and post what problems you have with model, etc before warning everyone about something that doesn't exist about a firmware that has been available and tested over many months, and years if we include 4.89 and older HFW firmware.

If it is a HEN issue, again you seem to be the only person with these problems, again pointing to a hardware issue on your end most likely.

EDIT: If you want to actually see where the problem may lie, you can use the debug mode of HEN available under HFW Tools -> Development and run a tool like socat to get a debug log and see what is happening when it black screens and shuts down.

EDIT2: Try this command line for socat to log and display on screen

EDIT4: Here is the batch file i use (mostly log-socat-logger-reciever.cmd). It logs to [socatXX.txt] with XX incrementing from 0 for each dump. A new dump filename is made each time starting from the last one, automatically.

Hi! I have a 12gb super slim that I want to jailbreak. I bought a 256gb ssd to install into it before I attempt the jailbreak. My system is currently on v4.89 and since the system cannot be downgraded, I plan to not update it to v4.91.

So after installing HFW, if I select the auto-installer on the xploit site, will there be any issues or risks given my system version is lower than 4.91?

First, SSDs are not compatible with the PS3, so I would recommend the use of an HDD.

Second, HEN auto installer supports many OFW versions, so you should not worry about it. It will install as usual.

If the installer fails, then it's recommended to update to HFW 4.91 and try again.

That won't be possible until metldr2 or LV1 are exploited.

Hello people, thank you for the support you constantly provide.
I'm having a problem with my PS3, after I've done a clean install, and erased all data from the console.
I install HFW 4.91 software (the most up-to-date available) via recovery and the system is error-free.
The problem is when I install the HEN in any of the possible ways. In all cases, HEN is downloaded, installed, and then the console freezes and no longer starts.
Bluetooth and Wi-fi are working properly, and the disk has no malfunctions.
The console is a CECH-2511B.
