PS4 Pinky's PS4 Tutorials

i still have the original bd drive will that make the blue ray drive work

if it's anything like the 360, the drive is paired to the console by a drive key. the drive make/model also may be important. with the 360, you can spoof them. I don't know if you can even do that with the ps3. however, I don't believe you can remarry a drive in a superslim due to fsm not being usable. I assume the same is true of the ps4. you can probably use the same drive that you took out of it, but is there something wrong with the drive? fixing it could be a problem without sending it to sony. and, then, they'd probably send you a refurbished system on the latest firmware.

i bought the ps4 without blue ray drive i just have the bdp drive i just wanted to know if i just buy new blue ray drive and remaryy ir with the old bdpdrive will work

At the moment I really have no idea how Sony paired his blu-ray but working on a short period as technician for a 2rd service with most electronics warrantys had access to Panasonic database. I have seen how blu-ray player is paired when I replaced lens with a new one blu-ray spinning cd/bd disc but without any info. Went to service manual.
Process :scan qr code from lens with apple qr code reader, put blu-ray player into factory service mode with code from service remote
Then on menu for pair must enter converted qr code in hex (32 group of 2 characters). Save, restart. Works.
Similar to our ps3 factory service mode where firmware is inside to our update. On ps4 is inside Renesas ic on dougther board

NO way to pair at the moment another bdp.

you mean now my ps4 is useless

Yes something like that. If you're motherboard is over 4.74 firmware is no longer possible to use another bdp board to install firmware on it.

Yes sure. I have tested one like that there was an payload to send in 4.74 then you can go up to 5.05.

Ok what type of motherboard you have? Sad001 or sab001? Are you sure is an power supply problem? Do you have 4.8v on 4/5 pin connection from power supply?

is there any tutorial you guys would like to see? I'm going to try save mounting once everything gets going for 6.72.

Would that include making save files from a retail PS4 work?

Also just a tutorial on how to do everything from start I just ordered a 2nd PS4 that I will mod (I have had one since launch but never modded) and don't really know where to start. I have the 6.72 update on my computer that's all.

yes, it's in the backing up games tutorial. if you don't have any saves, you don't have to do that portion. also, I think saves can still be backed up via usb.

I thought saves were tied to the profile they were made on. I have a profile on my retail PS4 that I won't have on the modded one. I don't think it would work through usb due to that.

they are, but if you don't fix the pkg, the retail saves will come up as corrupted. there's no way around it but 0'ing out the keystone. if you're using a new profile and therefore have no saves, don't worry about it.

Yeah but I'm using a new profile but want my saves on it, if possible. I can't completely ditch my first PS4 because I'm still playing games I won't be able to access on the hacked one i.e. Last of Us II.

yes, with save mounter. I haven't used it yet though to offer firsthand experience. I plan to use it once things start rolling.

something I'm a little unsure of @NoSoul81 is that it says to place the aid in the PARAM.SFO in little endian which is basically byte reversed (i.e. AB CD = CD AB). I discovered that that's how the vita reads the aid. the content manager id is little endian. I asked leeful about it cuz he never mentioned it. he hasn't gotten back to me yet. I don't think it's that way on the ps3. I think it's big endian in the PARAM.SFO (i.e AB CD = AB CD) there. it would make sense considering the vita and the ps4 was made by the same lead designer (same guy for the ps5, Mark Cerny).

@NoSoul81 , check this out: https://gbatemp.net/threads/ps4-offlineaccount-activator.558004/page-3#post-8962370

use that on a made account on sony's official website. I think it tells you what to do iirc. you basically just have to log in, then copy and paste the link. it will get you your account id without ever having to have been logged in. then, use the account activator to activate the id. I've used the script, just not the activator quite yet. it worked for all three accounts I had. I used known accounts first to make sure it worked. it's been fixed to show a 0 in the first place, since the aid is 16 digits.

Thanks for the info, I'm just kind of gathering as much info as I can. I bought a PS4 that's on 5.05 on Ebay yesterday but I'm kinda having doubts the seller will send it I have a few reasons I suspect they might not come through so I regret buying from this seller. But I can't just get my money back right away I have to wait and give them a lot of time to see if they come through so I'm in a waiting pattern. I hope they come through because if not I might have to buy like a new Spider-man bundle which is like $400+. I paid $275 + $27 shipping + tax, it was a used 1 TB with no controller so I had to buy a controller, so I ended up paying about $375. I probably should have just bought new anyway but it did not cross my mind. Either way if this seller comes through or I have to buy another one I won't have it right away, not this week for sure. I have this thread bookmarked though.
