PKG Linker 2.0 - Serve Packages to your PS3 (HAN/CFW)

PS3 PKG Linker 2.0 - Serve Packages to your PS3 (HAN/CFW) v2.0

No offense, but the "help files" for pkg linker are, to say the least, quite confusing and "lacky".
U Can see the forum full of people asking about them exe's and how to use them..
Even I have had probs with getting the files signed, that's why I'm atm using other tools and doing manually "retail" packages to serve on my LAN. :P

eg. you could link on the topic's help info about for example "psn_package_npdrm2.exe"
and about the directories, what goes into what.
else all these topics continue to be flooded with the same questions from people. :P

A lot of the stuff in the help was things that we learned from v1 and anything not covered is something we didn't know about.
I slipped the resigner in as a little extra at the end without saying anything about it. If it's not working correctly then that's my fault.

I'm not too bothered about it with over 5k downloads and only a few people having problems shows we tried to catch any problems with the app.

We also added links in the credits to here and the server site so we could try to help out with any trouble.

Resigner works but it freezes the gui until the resigner has finished but idk if the server still functions. Also idk if it's just these pkgs but the icon wasn't extracted and it showed the default icon. I'll check again if it shows the correct icon later.

I'm putting the resigner in a different thread so it will get the loading spinner in the next update. For now the server still works you just can't do anything else.
Let me know what you find about the icons as long as the pkg has one it should extract it and fix the size.

This is what it looked like but restarting pkg linker and refreshing the pkgs by installing pkg list again seems to have fixed it.

Edit: I found the problem. it seems that icons are generated only when you restart pkg linker. rescanning doesn't generate icons

I hope you guys add some kind of progress bar to the desktop aplication, to keep track of the uploading speed and remaining files and time. Right now I'm using NetSpeedMonitor to do that. It shows the upload speed on my taskbar so, if it reaches 0, I know that the upload is finished.
I know we easily could have it watch the upload speed. I don't know if I can get the info about how much of the file has been uploaded or not I'll look into it and see what I can come up with.

Absolutely beautiful update, in all aspects. I had the previous version on my PC and totally didn't recognize it after viewing the screenshots and playing with it. Thanks for the release and keep up the awesome work.

Thanks. V1 was rushed. A lot of people were having problems making the xml by hand so we just got it good enough to hold everyone over.
We're starting to get closer to what we were wanting to make. We do still have a few more surprises in the works

Hey there!

Umm, the download link just leads me to a completely different post about "project zero" from 2014. Am I missing something?

You are right, The help section could be 20 times longer and cover every little thing related to HAN/Resigning/packages etc.

But this is an app for serving packages, So to be honest the help section was never meant to explain anything more than connection issues when serving packages, you can not expect us to explain every exe used in this tool and other tools, Are there any projects that do that?

Anyway we are not here to spoon feed information to people that is already available elsewhere and we don't have time. If someone wants to write a tutorial about how to use PKG Linker great, but from my point of view, people can watch the videos, read the threads, and figure it for themselves...or not.

What exes are you even talking about? forum full of people asking about what?

Is that not what the forum is for, or do you think because we made pkg linker we are now obligated to explain how all the exes in the HAN scene work? including all the ones made by other people? like why would we need to explain anything about psn_package_npdrm2.exe? the user can research that if they want to. Next you will want PS3P_PKG_Ripper_1.3.exe explained too, and ps3xploit_rifgen_edatresign.exe and so on and so on. Those are not our files, so you can ask the creators of them.
