HAN does NOT run homebrew, which is what this app is...homebrew....Will this benefit HAN users in any way?
I messed with the PS3_DISC.SFB a little yesterday and made this https://github.com/pink1stools/PS3_DISC.SFB-Editor/blob/master it should be easy to add the code to this project. Not much to do with the file but it can edit the flags and title. It could easily edit any of the items if we needed to.I think is going to be handy to have a PS3_DISC.SFB editor too
One of the first things the PS3 does when reading a bluray is to look at the "hybrid flags" that appears on that file
The hybrid flags tells to the PS3 the kind of content/s included in the disc
If the flag exist... the PS3 searchs for an specific type of content at a predefined path of the bluray
If doesnt exist... the PS3 doesnt even searches at the predefined path (even if the files exists, are ignored)
By editing the PS3_DISC.SFB you can achieve 2 goals:
To remove content
This is sotmehing i mentioned to you before in private, the ISO tools that have an option to remove the PS3UPDAT.PUP file (and folder) from the bluray doesnt changes the hybrid flags of PS3_DISC.SFB (or as far i could see none of the tools does it) but is an error... is better to remove the hybrid flag "u" because this is how is made officially
The PS3 blurays without PS3UPDAT.PUP doesnt have the "u" in PS3_DISC.SFB
Additionally, there is people like me who uses to play with the backup inside internall hdd of the PS3, so at the time of building the ISO we remove some "extra" stuff not needed, like videos or themes from PS3_CONTENT path
The paths are predefined, so you can identify all contents and add/remove the "hibryd flags" for them at the same time you delete/add files to the bluray game
To add content
Themes at dev_bdvd/PS3_CONTENT/THEMEDIR/PARAM.SFO
Videos at dev_bdvd/PS3_CONTENT/VIDEODIR/PARAM.SFO
*Edit:
Also, if you are going to add a conversor PKG--->to--->ISO i guess is going to be needed to create the PS3_DISC.SFB files from scratch
-----------------
Additionally, is posible to create "multiboot" bluray discs (with several main EBOOT.BIN displayed by XMB at the same level) using paths PS3_GM01, PS3_GM02, etc...
But to make this is needed a LIC.DAT editor (because this file has an entry for every main EBOOT.BIN in the disc)
Also, the other way around... you can "split" the bluray games that originally was "multiboot"... this is a minory though, the number of offical "multiboot" games can be counted with the fingers of a hand
Cool, it will be handyMost of the tools will be for CFW

That would be great. I'm not very good at that kinda stuff.I almost forgot we was talking about making an ICO for the app, are you still interested in this ?
I had an idea of which design to use, the concept is easy and the idea i have in mind is to make it simple, this way it will look good even when displayed at very small sizes (at 16x16 or 32x32 pixels)
So the idea have pros and contras, the pro is it will look fine at small sizes, the contra is going to be very simplistic
I can get it ready for a different ico for each of the 3 types & have it fallback to a default if the ico isn't found. Then if we want to have one for each we can & if not it will still work.We was also talking about making a "default" image (or images) for placeholders of the ICON0.PNG (for contents without it)
One of the ideas i had for this was to use the ICO i mentioned above for it, overlapped on top of a rectangle
That ICo is going to be like the logo of the app, so i guess it fits well
But my wonder is... in how many places of "PS3 Game Backup Studio" is going to appear the default ICON0.PNG ?
And should we make variants of it for different content types ?
Im guessing the images with the variants can be made in a easy way, but i dont know how many could be needed, which style to use for them, and even if is a good idea to make variants of it
That's great! I've been a smaller project that I hope to finish up in the next few days so I can try to get back to this.
That would be a hard call for me to make, they all look so good. I do like the last one but I'll leave that up to you.The only thing im doubtfull to change is that reflections on the "data" disc area, i like the ones i used in the very first version that are more thin... and i also like the ones in this last version... so not sure
I guess the reflections of the latest version are better because are going to cause less problems when reducing the size to half, quarter, etc...
Not sure though, i need to make some tests reducing the icon size to see how much it pixelates
I'm pretty sure I can add some text to it in code if need be. I'm just not sure what we would want to add to it. We already have the name shown so maybe the title id? I'm open for ideas from everyone on this. For the ICON0.PNG incase you like the idea of using this icon for it... this is something you need to tell me what to do (as design concept)
The initial test was just a rectangle in greytones and i suggested we could add some texts next to it but was just an idea and incase you like it can be made in 2 different ways... by adding the text on the ICON0.PNG or you can render text on top of it with code
But well... was just ideas, im not even convinced that are good, so if you or someone have some idea just tell, im like an sponge![]()
That's awesome we can always use help. This is good. I know C# so if you will ever need help with anything, contact me![]()
I use to have always the same problem when making some images for other people, i ask for details but the other person tells me "hmm, im not sure overall looks good to me", and this lets me alone to face the decissions, lol (included some decissions that i dont know what to do or i dont want to take)That would be a hard call for me to make, they all look so good. New version:
My problem to try to imagine this is i dont know in how many places of the app are going to appear the ICON0.PNG imagesI'm pretty sure I can add some text to it in code if need be. I'm just not sure what we would want to add to it. We already have the name shown so maybe the title id? I'm open for ideas from everyone on this.
Sorry to keep putting things like that on you. I have trouble with shades of blue, purple and some other colors so I don't always trust what I see lolI use to have always the same problem when making some images for other people, i ask for details but the other person tells me "hmm, im not sure overall looks good to me", and this lets me alone to face the decissions, lol (included some decissions that i dont know what to do or i dont want to take)
I don't expect the default icon to be needed often if at all I just like to have something for the program to fall back to if it needs one.My problem to try to imagine this is i dont know in how many places of the app are going to appear the ICON0.PNG images
And what represents the ICON0.PNG in that places (incase every place is going to represent different things)
Overall... the ICON0.PNG is mandatory to exist in an official PS3 game/app so when dealing with official PS3 game/apps it should be there (unless the user made some mistake)
And for other content... not sure if your app manages other formats PS1/PS2/PSP or... dunno im just trying to imagine where an ICON0.PNG could be used but you know better than me the features of the app
Also... i dont know if is going to be handy to have different ICON0.PNG icons... to simplify it we can use only one like the first i made, a simple rectangle (with some eyecandy that i still not imagined) with the icon in the center, and everything in greytones and very transparent
Or if you want to display the TITLE_ID (that is always 4 letters + 5 numbers) on top i can make like a frame for it
Or i can add the text on the image with a "ICON0.PNG Missing"
