Why would a game folder like Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain work if it had a game update installed, whereas CFWs don't need game updates?

game updates work with cfw. if things are broken in a game, updates will patch them up just like it would normally.

On CFW if you added the update's and wanted to sign in online say to expand your in game FOB while going through the storey line it would not work in folder format when the syscals are disabled, it would black screen on boot.

Thank you to all who develop and contribute this software. When it comes to using ps3, everything is too basic after this. Its almost like cfw. Using with latest(current) webman mod and irisman homebrews and of course movian works like a charm.
Also i am using nopsnhen youtube, and ethanol twitch applications.
FYI: To my testing, in hybrid firmware tools override disc sfo thing does work partially(!). When user closes app its become corrupted data. (At least one time you gain that advantage i believe.)
 
hey, does auto installer from website require BIN on usb000?

or it does not need anything ? i thought that once ps3Hen.p3t is downloaded ,it will not need anything
because i want to test latest HEN

Afaik there is no need for anything on usb unless the auto installer is updated... Why? Do u have an issue? And if u already got HEN why not just install the latest HEN PKG from HFW Tools or from here.

Nothing needed on USB, all you need is HFW installed and the auto installer URL.

so it seems an issue , it was CFW but updated to HFW 4.85 to try Hen , but then it said i require BIN and HEN signed on usb000 on the right side toward BlueRay disk , I DID THIS and it worked after that installed Multiman but i get Black screen on start up ttied many homebrew same result. i restored system , then tried again and it still ask me for BIN on Usb000 with red font . then i tried remote play and it worked , But homebrew still get black screen. now i got back on CFW with the flasher and Homebrew still don't work (black screen). it is an old Phat CECHK04

yes indeed , it turned out that my disk is stuck inside the drive and i spent little time till manage to get it out , then the black screen been solved BUT not Hen Auto installer

The HEN installer acts as an enabler as well so maybe you're not letting it download the P3T and as it doesn't detect the P3T it acts as an enabler and looks for PS3HEN.BIN in the HDD and USB. (Just a conspiracy)... Just to confirm; does the P3T even ask to be downloaded?

it does download and and ask for overwrite too whenever i try. it is weird because i tried a fresh HFW too. i even suspected the resoltion of display because i did not use HDMI lol i was hopeless to find the cause of this issue even after taking out the stuck disk , i would try later when i have time
 
Hello guys,
I need a little help please. It's been 3 days that I can't sign in to PSN on my super slim PS3 (4.85), I am having the 80023121 error.
It actually started after my PS3 suddenly turned off (like not even the little red light to turn it on was lit) and had to plug it off then on to launch it. Afterward I couldn't play any of my games from multiman (they launch but I get: impossible to synchronise trophies error and the games just exit) I can play games if I start a new ps3 acount (but still no PSN) but I start from zero and I don't want that.
