PS3 PSNpatch - Releases / Usage Information (Official Support Thread)

First of all, thank you for your work and the work of KW.

I wonder if the new speed at the start of psnpatch is possible to leave the always-on Internet connection without any risks?

Anyway to get it back?
It wasn't deleting it for me then I reinstalled my firmware, formatted and restored file system / database etc and now its gone lol.
Haven't even got webman or psnpatch installed yet.
Man this ps3 does some weird things. (cechl02)

After reinstall firmware you should get it back. Is modification of category_game.xml, that file should be flashed with new firmware. You have IPF in xmb?

Yeah that was still there. Was the only extra icon I had on a fresh install.
Was great not having Netflix and singstar etc. :)

Restoring my backup now. (just swapped hard drives)
Could be a while before I get to play with it again lol.

Not worried about since I'm running a cobra firmware anyway, just found it odd
Allthough I think my hdd was silently corrupting things causing some strange behaviour.

Fingers crossed it starts behaving now!

If I correctly understood your question (if not, please rephrase ;) ), the internet connection can be always on.
What you should never do is having auto-login into PSN.

And psnpatch plugin does auto-lock to psn to avoid "distractions" of connections to the PSN (not to the internet) before previously disabling CFW.

Lmao, you can downgrade. That just proves you can read and use a screwdriver.

Let me guess. You've installed the plugin but are trying to disable cfw via the app rather then the plugin?
If so, get reading again and stop acting like a douchebag.

If its a legitimate problem other then what I said you're not giving much info to go on, or a reason for anyone to want to help.

listen, i have been downgrading ps3 systems for over 3 years now...i think i know how to install and configure psnpatch it doesn't work in my case, period!!!!

Whatever is your experience, the fact is that IT WORKS ! PERIOD.

If you took your time to read the manual, BEFORE complaining, you'll noticed that if you install the plugin you'll have to DISABLE CFW USING THE PLUGIN and not the app.

I just love when 2 wiseasses act like gods. You both must be stupid and can't read. It doesn't f.cking work using the freaking button combination. So f off, both of you and let someone who can handle the problem respond!

As I said, you're still not giving any information to go on or a reason to help...

Hi, so sorry for the bump. I'm having a strange issue, i'm using PSNPatch 4.70.05 and the latest WebmanMod. As usual, i disable cfw and then log-in to PSN Network but it gives me an error to log-in (80710092). I know PSNPatch disables your PSN connection until you completely disable CFW, which i just did or maybe am i missing something? Btw im using Habib 4.70 v1.0 Cobra 7.10. CECH-2501B (I will try with Habib Starbucks v1.01 in the next few hours). Thanks in advance.

You should use the plugin to disable CFW and restore psn AS DETAILED IN THE DOCUMENTATION ...

I always disable PSN access using the plugin supplied with PSNPatch. Anyway, i've solved the issue, i instaled Starbucks v1.01. Other thing is that my HDD was getting corrupted :( time to change it :/

Hi, I dont really want to get into a battle here. All I am looking for is clear and concise instructions on how to get the patch to work. I have had previous version working perfectly, but even after I run psnpatch 4.70.6, then go to sign in, PSN always asking me for an update ? I have read the documentation several times, and I cant see what I am doing wrong! Help please !
