Hey guys, i live in germany, so my power outlet has 230V. I wanted to buy a Japanese CECHB00 console, mostly because theyre cheap and in better conditions than here, i have a Transformator for 110Volts but i was wondering if it was possible to put the PSU from my CECHP04 into the Japanese CECHB00? I tried to google but the ps3devwiki seems to be offline so i couldnt verify if it would work. :friendly wink: Thanks guys

I have bought the same console from Japan and It works Just fine with eu 230v , in fact that original PSU It has Is very very good quality.
I also have a backup psu compatible, but don't Remember from which ps3 that was, there should be a wiki for ps3 psus , search It out It Will help you a lot

You don't need to. The NTSC consoles come with international PSUs. They can be used with 110V or 230V. It's just the European consoles that can only work with 230V.

I myself have an A unit from Hong Kong and it works just fine here in germany.

Didn't know that about NTSC. Hong Kong votlage is the same as EU.

I know but the unit comes either with a universal power supply or a European one. There is no 110V only PSU

I agree, there is no need of replacing the PSU on CECHB00 console if you are in Europe. I am from Poland and I have the CECHB00 console, I disassembled it and under the hood there is APS-226 power supply (it might be also the power inefficient ZSSR PSU), which is compatible with outlets with voltage from range 110V to 230V. Just plug and play and enjoy :)

I've recently bought a Japanese CECHA00, so I don't really need to down from 230v to 110v?

No. Really. I am pretty certain that the CECHA00 has got literally the same PSU as CECHB00. So even though if on the Japanese ps3 it is said that it is compatible with AC 100V or 110V (I don't remember the exact value of current in Japan) it will fully work with the European outlet, without the current converter.

You were right, I opened the console and saw that it should works. So I sanctified myself and put the cord directly from the outlet and it worked great.

Now I can return this converter, thanks a lot!
