I vote for not including the plug-in rebug dev_flash, you agree with @aldostools about XMBPD, important that does not impose additional updates CFW Rebug, with regard to future developments of XMBPD.

THANKS FOR EVERYTHING

I voted for not including webman or webMAN-MOD. These plugins are not part of the CFW per se & were only added for convenience. It turns out that most of the time users update it on the spot anyway. Moreover everybody has different taste & needs, some require lighter solution like webman or wMM vanilla while others need PS3MAPI at least or multilingual support..
It's better to let users decide what they want to install...
Fundamentally the only advantage of including a working version of webman is that no further backup manager installation is required to mount games & play. No Internet is needed, the CFW is plug & play. But given the fact that Rebug is a CFW for advanced users mostly, I believe that there are more disadvantages than advantages in integrating such a quickly evolving plugin.

Regarding XMBPD, given mysis recent source code release, we could now easily make XMBPD dependent only on a system plugin. We would simply need to move the pkg handling functions from webMAN-MOD to xai_plugin or whatever....
It would benefit both wMM & XMBPD as well as any app or mod that needs to handle pkg download and/or on installation...
For XMBPD, it would eliminate the need for both wMM & Cobra.

I can see everyone's point of it not being included but I always like @Joonie builds as they have so many options I don't use already commented out. I honestly don't update wMM unless a great new feature is added and I like it being in dev_flash as it keeps it from being deleted by some of my household users that like to experiment with my systems as they like to learn and know I can recover due to my flashers. While maybe not including it in the firmware I would still like to see it maybe embedded into the toolbox so one could add it if need be. But either way I can live with as I know how to add/update the app.

But there are already various wMM editions, from light to full, for this very purpose... Nobody should really need a Rebug mod.

If you can't find any wMM edition to your liking then maybe we ought to discuss the various editions features with Aldo & make proposals for improvement...
Of course, for the handful of people with precise requirements for a custom build, it's just as easy to recompile a webftp_server.sprx with the specific desired features enabled in flags.h... It takes 30s to do after all and it does not require any particular skills.

As for accidental deletion on /dev_hdd0 due to kids or whoever, that could be remedied. It's possible to add a function to wMM either to restore the binary automatically if ever it was deleted or to protect the binary from deletion in the first place....

I voted for webMAN-MOD but have always used the version included with rebug and haven't updated before, reading more it seems like a separate install makes most sense rather than needing to continue to package it with the cfw.

Not sure if that is what you want to do but just in case note that you can change the vote you casted if you ever change your mind...

It would be interesting to install only the default webman in the rebug toolbox, if you have a webman update we would only trade the file (dev_hdd0 - webftp_server).

I voted for no WM(m), but i wouldn't mind it.
IMO it's not necessary because wmm gets updated very often and I like to be on the latest (and full version anyway) ;)
A link to the latest wmm would be cool though, especially with auto-install :D

Well, I should also mention the first thing I do after debug installation is enabling cobra and wmm in order to get my fan control back.
I am always a bit nervous during installation until I can cool my CPU & GPU.
But I think my console could handle a few seconds more without fan control ;)

BTW. I know there had been complaints about cobra being enabled by default, by I'd like it.
Maybe another poll about cobra being enabled / disabled by default? :D
I'm curious how others think about it :)

Edit: oops

I vote not to include it. I use ps3 net server to play a lot of my games and I have never been able to get WMM to operate properly, it will not connect no matter what I have tried. Multiman works every time so it is what I use. Don't get me wrong WMM is great but it just doesn't work for me and I have tried to make it.

Have you tried wmm FULL version?
You can add ps3netsrv's on the config page ;)
Working well for me :)

I suggest you learn how to use webMAN-MOD's features. Read the OP of the wMM General Information thread in this forum.
Ps3netsrv is supported by all wMM editions except light edition. Also there are options to configure in the setup page of course, you cannot expect wMM to automatically detect & list your ps3netsrv games without first enabling the feature, providing the ps3netsrv ip address & used port!
WMM is not AI! Lol

This is getting to be pretty close... is it to much to make both? a Rebug Rex 4.81.03_no_wMM and 4.81.04_with_wMM? I know Joonie is ultra hyper uber busy but just deleting everything in the no wMM version shouldn't be to bad. and the new toolbox can just detect if it is the one with or without it. So if somebody tries to enable it from the toolbox on the no wMM version it can just kick back a "no wMM" found message or something. Im just fantasizing here...in a perfect world where we would have both :)

I don't feel like making REBUG home, pro, business, enterprise and Server edition.

Besides, people tend to download for collection purpose. So I don't like generating unnecessary traffic for the server.

I am sure you noticed we had some issues with our host not long ago
