PS3 [Research] Modifying the Coldboot/Gameboot Sequence (custom_render_plugin.sprx/rco)

@DeViL303 My goodness ... I see you mastered the waves ... an amazing job. Taking the opportunity that you are playing with the lines.qrc file, I was wondering if you are able to remove two functions from the waves..one is very easy for you That has mastered the thing, which is to remove the sparkles, the other I don't know, well the second thing is this ... remove the function that makes the waves change color according to the month and time of day, so that the colors are determined according to the wishes of the according to whatever color you choose, it will also change in the user pick menu before entering the main XMB ... I don't know you understand me.:D

Not sure I understand, those are official features afaik. The background only changes if you have it on original background setting, and if you change the theme to classic then the sparkles are gone.

Yeah I know ... but like that..before firmware 3.00, I didn't have the "Original" theme as the system default, but yes, it was the "Classic" theme without the sparkle. Even if I choose this theme, I still have Sparkles on the user login screen, which is the first screen after PS3 boot (that's if you have more than one user on the system ... of course). in short ... remove sparkles from every possible place, even using the original system theme.

Actually i am working on a PLAYSTATION3 CLASSIC CFW, based on 4.84, retaining the original elements from the pre-3.00,even the no sparkles wave,but its just black, just need some testing on a real hardware,and some permissions from a few lads. :)

The original "clock bar" will be there? with the animations ? =)

The original Clock yes,but the Teardrop animation, unfortunately no.
About this clock as a drop of water ... isn't this the same one we found in recovery mode? ... would it be nice for someone to investigate the responsible recovery mode files to see if they find it, and see how it works. this classic watch is on my list too.

Yes,its the same found in the Recovery Mode, something about a GIM file,but caused a soft-brick,or it wasnt compatible with XMB

I will have a look, I can break the colour changing and sparkles i would say. Breaking sprx stuff in hex is easy enough. :D Making it do something different is not so easy. :)

Hmmm...okay...
Recently I was watching the animation of the current analog clock that we want to replace with the old one and I noticed something kind of interesting, I was like crazy looking at the screen and watching the movements of the clock. If you pay close attention, when the clock is spinning, an animation looks quite similar to the old one, when the clock stops spinning, this animation is gone ... maybe I'm crazy here, but if you watch the clock spinning closely, maybe you will understand what I am saying.

What elements are still missing from this version you are creating? maybe I have some that I created before. since my brother deleted my files I still have some, I just need to check it out

For now i am recreating the XMB icons, with the 2.80 update, since i want to get rid of the transparency,but its not that important.

hmm ... okay ... you want to leave the icons as when we choose the "Classic" theme, where the icons are opaque. very good, but I think it's hard to do that ... don't you think?

Perhaps, but as i mentioned, its not that important,the goal is to restore a few changed XMB resources from 3.00,such as Gameboot/Coldboot/Sounds/Icons/Clock,its more like a Pre-3.00 Tuning Pack, but i would like to make it a full blown Custom Firmware,retaining the CFW features, but with the pre 3.00 changes.

FINALLY !!! ...@Naked_Snake1995 I managed to make the SCE Classic Coldboot with the correct resolution, the way it should be ... just perfect ... the little problem is that is without the animation, because I do not know how to do it, Maybe @pinky or @DeViL303 help put the animation on it (fade in /out)..I'am terrible on HEX editor.:cheese:

@Naked_Snake1995 you can test it, you will like the resolution and the position, I made several comparisons with the position of the original logo, and ... how could you say ... PERFECT ... I can be daring to say that, but seriously, it's very Just like the original ... take the test and tell me what you think ... but as I said, we just have to add his original animation and we will have one more goal completed.

There is more than just HEX editing, @pinky might help you on this case, the actual 1.00 Coldboot Grid is available at PS3DevWiki, if i recall correctly its 400 on the X axis, which is nearly on the center screen,not to mention each DDS file within the Coldboot needs to be edited or added to make the transparency.

I found a way to hide the sparkles/wave/anything at boot up only.

Kind of simple really, We add a 1080p black plane first on the list of planes, then we can fade that out in the animation at any timing we want.

Add everything you want visible below that.

Black plane:
Code:
<Plane name="bg" posX="0" posY="0" objectScale="0" redScale="0" greenScale="0" blueScale="0" alphaScale="1" width="0" height="0" posUnknown="0" scaleWidth="20" scaleHeight="20" elementScale="1" iconOffset="0x0" onLoad="nothing" unknown17="0x0" unknown18="0x0" unknown19="0x0" unknownInt20="0x1029c" unknownInt21="0x1029d" unknown22="0x100" image="nothing" unknownInt24="0x0"></Plane>

Fade out:
Code:
<Fade object="object:bg" duration="3000" accelMode="0x0" transparency="0" />

Simple but powerful. :)

You can even have transition effects by resizing the plane away rather than fading it.

Code:
<Resize object="object:bg" duration="3000" accelMode="0x0" width="1" height="0" unknownFloat4="1" />

Coldboot to XMB transition effect idea.

Lots more possible, like have the black plane rotate away, fly away, or move off to the side like a sliding door etc.

To get that last effect I resized the plane like this:
Code:
<Resize object="object:bg" duration="5000" accelMode="0x0" width="1" height="0" unknownFloat4="1" />
<Delay time="1000" />
<Resize object="object:bg" duration="4000" accelMode="0x0" width="0" height="0" unknownFloat4="1" />

There is really a lot to be done to add the animation, it is good to let someone who knows how to do the thing to get it done well.
