Yeah there is also config variable to select OSD: --host-osd= [0,off,minimal,verbose] not sure we can do something with this. But emu use modified debug bios, maybe we can use full debug bios + osd on?

I don't think it's documented what Sony changed compared to a normal debug BIOS, because you'll need a dump from a DTL-H90000 to compare the emulator BIOS to.

Bios is not based on 90000 series. 2.20 is used in DTL-H75000

Edit: DarkElement just done few tests for me. ps2_emu bios not work, ps2_gxemu bios work on PS4. So is the same situation like in ps3.
 
True, but PS20190AC20030623 suggest that we can use older bios.
But we can't compare the available 2.20 bios to a normal debug bios, so we can see what Sony changed to make it work. This way we could make every PS2 BIOS work (not inlcuding the T10k). PS20190AC20030623 is also used for ps1_rom.bin.
 
I tried it on God of War. Game don't load. It freeze on gameboot (pic1) screen.

yeah me too..it seems most of the generated pkg game got stuck either in sony PS2 Boot screen or in pic1.png loading screen

tried sooooo many ps2 title but all of them stuck in loading screen
 
I have tested
The Mortal Kombat 3
From Mortal Kombat Armageddon
MKA Works great with slight graphical glitches but when you go play MK3
Its sliced up although it still plays fine
Now with (Midway Arcade Treasures 2)
And you try to play MK2 or 3
Or any other games from the pack
Its just black Screen But the Sound still works along with movement and selection
It's just you can't see do because of the Black Screen.
Hope this can be helpful to anyone
More testing will continue

Thank you for your trouble.

However, there seems to be something wrong.
I tested soul reaver 2, the game obviously has a mipmap problem, so I set the switch --gs-use-mipmap=1 . I also set AR to 16:9 (float 1.77), which did not show any effect. Furthermore, the question arises whether the # is a uncomment or a necessity.

--gs-aspect-ratio=1.77 seems to be wrong. If Default value is 0.81, then 16:9 should be around 0.60.
So maybe parser just ignore it in that case because is bigger than 1.
--gs-use-mipmap=1
Also here, is not clear that emu use mipmap on default or no. So try to use --gs-use-mipmap=0, and check that anything will change.
You can try to add those patches to config-emu-ps4.txt if they not work in cli. Is still not clear which values are read by cli, which by config. Assuming that other gs values are there, maybe it will work.
 
Thank you for your tips. I have created a total of 3 packages. Among other things I set the AR to 4:3, this package did not go beyond the splash screen.

The other two have each received a customized configuration of the above-mentioned files.

The emulator didn't care at all, nothing has changed.

The mipmap problem was discussed in the PCSX2 forums. It's exactly the same effect, which means that mipmapping is off in the standard configuration of the (PS4 PS2) emulator.
I will postpone soul reaver 2 and try myself at the AR of silent hill 3 and 2. here I have patched ISO files which I already used on the PS3 (Widescreen Patch, 16:9).
 
Hey guys. Was playing for some hours with PS4 PS2 emu and configs.. for like 120+ tests ive made nothing much works except 16:9/full either in in cli or other config file (might be wrong since ive swapped bios at some time while playing with configs).
Whats more interesting for me is transferring saves since you always stuck at loading (pic0), same as swapping bios (not sure why they use that old dev bios either, i have one from 2010 which ofc doesnt work).
So.
1. If you copy pcsx2 *.ps2 saves -> formatted.card doesnt work.
2. If you swap formatted.card -> pcsx2 *.ps2 one also doesnt work.
3. If you copy just 1 save for actual game also doesnt work.
4. If you remove re-indexing memory cards and such stuff in pcsx2 also doesnt work.
5. If you copy save then copy formatted.card while you are still in pcsx2 (that way date modified isnt updated and hopyfully didnt touch anything important like re-index or whatever else) also doesnt work.
6. There is one app from Aldo i think for re-hashing indexes for memory cards which was useful for PS3 PS2 emulator if i am not wrong, since without it my saves VME/VMC didnt worked.. so also rehashng doesnt work..

So anyone that had any success with memory card and saves? Or anyone that had luck booting MK Shaolin Monks? (stuck at ps2 logo)

I just put together Mortal Kombat Deception (Bonus Disc) Only With The Original (Mortal Kombat 1)
And it plays MK1 Just Fine No Slicing at all With in Game Play:)

Well done mate ;) Not sure if you know but save_data.png is responsible for icons for saves. Just to let you know in case you dont know ;) (i found that later since i had early preview which i stick with lol)

Yes of course, those are saves ive tried to import. The one is *.ps2/vmc save format (it believe ps3 ps2 emu saves and pcsx2 are 100% ideantical) and the rests are uLaunchELF *.psu's.. Just to be easier for you ;)


Here is test memory card with Tales of The Abyss SLUS-21386 game save. I done without use of pcsx2, and should work.

Ive made again clean pkg using temporary image so it will compile faster (Junior Board Games from emuparadise, ripped dummy file with expert which sizes at just 54mb (well useless if you compress pkg but thats other question), maybe thats my problem. Saves might be image specific, so it doesnt allow other/custom..

Anyway with 2 words. Ive created again pkg:
1. With no changes.. game boots fine (that was just in case ive screwed something..)
2. Changed to your memory card.. doesnt boot (maybe if i used same game iso/title and configured it both settings file might work?)
3. Since i was 100% sure that my pkg will boot (since i thought its save was created by ps4-ps2 emu) ive used your card and added via MyMC (that buggy old python app) uLaunchELF *.psu save... also doesnt work ofc

In previous post ive forgot that ive created a virtual memory card on my ps3.. transfered files. Tested on pcsx2 is working of course. And of course not working on PS4-PS2.

So maybe everything is lying in that you can only use saves created by PS4-PS2. There might be some bytes difference which PS4-PS2 emu doesnt like (like some lightweight encryption or so which pcsx2 passes somehow). Actually might be wrong here as well since PS4-PS2 pkg doesnt work even with his own formatted.card which you gave me (if its created by ps4-ps2 emu ofc).. so maybe its all about using correct save with correct iso/title. Still cant confirm if only ps4-ps2 saves or custom ones since ive made all my tests using that temp iso for faster testings..

Wonder if flat_z discovered something more about that..

Nothing more.. i mean i am not sure if he ever tested that on PS4 side since this isnt working for me in any way. The strangest thing is that he have some "releases" on his twitter regarding ps4-ps2 but nothing regarding those his words on discord.
