Looking for a little help. I have a cech2001b on 4.82 OFW that when I power on I am greeted with a red screen and lots of foreign language. I have tried a different hdd, installing firmware, safe mode options! No matter what I try I get the same result. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Well, youre going to need a Hardware flasher to fix RSOD, since ure on OFW, although I am not sure about the process. Maybe someone else can chime in on that.

he has a flasher & this is what I told him in Tapatalk chat, hopefully some can chime in with more info on the process
 
I have a hardware flasher and have downgraded many consoles. I'm just not sure how to fix this problem.

So from what I read, this is for people already on cfw but I am on ofw. I think I could flash the patched dump, then install rogero downgrader then the rsod bypass? All from recovery screen.

Ok, I might give it a shot. I have nothing to lose. I have tried removing nor chips before and it didn't go very well! [emoji23]

So I have my flasher attached, got 3 dumps and all have error DATA CHECK MATCH. I have no idea what it means.

means vtrm error is a nor chip error is defected you need to install one firmware has rsod bypass and install rsod fix patches in the end with multiman or e-flasher get one last dump .
you need also remove the defected nor chip and solder an new nor chip and put the last dump after the rsod patched.
 
Hi ! im having the RSOD problem too with a PS3 CECHL01 but im Cobra Ferrox 4.83 CFW that bypasses the rsod but the thing is that when im going to play a certain game always get a trophy error or savegame error. The only solution ive found in this forum is with rsod fix pkg that temporary fixes the problem and im able to play the games with no problem, however , the next day the problem still persist and it repeats all the days so i need to run the rsod fix pkg all the days at least one time to play my games. Is there anyway to fix it permanently without e3 flasher or any dongle ?

Ive seen in this forum a method to fix it by entering FSM through rebug cfw tools but i did it and i pressed the button that says Re- Initialize VTRM-Region but i always get an error ! do im missing something ? Thanks in advance
 
enter fsm use lv2diag.elf for rsod with a pen but you need to replace the chip is only way to fix permanently the RSOD because the SAMSUNG Nor is defected and need to be changed

Can i just enter FSM Through Rebug CFW settings and then i insert a pen with the lv2diag.self and then what is the next step ? the button Re-initialize VTRM-Region are not needed ? im trying to fix it permanently by this method but if the problem persist im gonna need to replace the Samsung Nor chip by a Spansion Nor chip.

edit: i also deleted my trophies, savegames and profiles in order to fix the rsod but when i press the button Re-initialize VTRM-Region through FSM i always got an error ! (i didnt used the lv2diag.self) just entered in fsm through rebug cfw settings and then i pressed the button mentioned but nothing happens just got an error :/
 
go to FSM and put the LV2DIAG.efl on the route of pen and do like was an dongle like ps3break.
turn off the ps3 in FSM and next turn on and press eject like dongle and lv2diag go to rewrite the vtrm and ps3 is going turn off.
turn on again ps3 and get out from FSM.
next do an dump from multiman or e3 flasher

No, unfortunately I didn't check with md5. Learned my lesson the hard way. Flashed patched dump, reassembled and when powered on it immediately powers off with no standby light.

See if i remember the exact steps - Its been a while and sorry if any steps are off

1) Read nor - Take a few dumps and make sure their identical
2) Check nor dump with patchers and make sure they are good dumps
3) Patch nor dump for 3.55 DG (Flow rebuilder)
4) Flash PS3 with New pathced nor dump
5) Enter FSM
6) Turn on ps3 with USB in far right port and 3.55 pup (Get back into FSM files)
7) Toggle QA
8) Install Rogeros 3.55 RSOD bypass pup
9) Make sure QA toggle is on
10) I believe install 3.55 OFW to not keep getting RSOD after updating
11) Install whatever CFW you want

I use progskeet for downgrades so if using E3 follow any needed steps for E3.
