I dont want to sound as a product advertisement, but the new Arctic MX-5 has been released

Arctic MX-4 was very popular by PS3 users (including myself), and the new MX-5 seems to be his successor, if someone finds a review or buy/use it and wants to share his oppinion please do

Still got about 7.5g of MX-4 left, so I'll not be buying this myself yet anytime soon but I too would be interested if anyone has bought/used this new MX-5 and if there are any noticeable temp difference's compared to MX-4 even if its only a few degrees, which is still within the margin for error with temp sensors, as on PC a few degrees can be the difference between a stable overclock and an unstable one on both CPU and GPU's and KiNGPINs thermal paste is hard to get atm and a bit pricey and is mainly designed for sub-zero overclocking with LN2.

honestly, I wonder why everybody wants this paste and I cannot stand to only read about it anymore, lol. I for myself prefer Noctua's paste, which is more durable compared to other pastes

lately I have purchased some high conductive graphite thermal pads and will try them soon on my 1000A. tbh, using a paste makes me sick because I will always get dirty from it

btw, I even have tried pure silver leafs, which also works with good results, but it is a pain to attach them and they are not re-usable unfortunately

I just redid my 21xx slim with mx-5, and I've been pretty happy with it... The unit had never been opened before, and while very clean, the old paste was aging out and the ps3 was going full jet engine pretty regularly. I got the new paste in, and now it has no trouble staying under 68f

I'd like to replace my thermal paste soon because mine is in poor state. if you still need feedback i'll buy one soon and write something on it.

Not sure if it helps without a comparison to MX-4, but my fan test was done using MX-5 under and on top of the heat spreader.

In plain words... i was mostly interested to know is the MX-5 is a direct "upgraded" version of the MX-4
I mean... in the product line of that brand, if the only difference in between them is that MX-5 have a bigger thermal condictivity (but ihaving a similar density and other characteristiques) then im full in
I liked the MX-4, if the MX-5 is a bit better and a bit more expensive i guess is going to be a sales success (soon everybody will buy the MX-5 instead of the MX-4)

Next time i will use the kryonaut though, i dont know the prices but i consider is something that im going to be using it for several years, so the cost of it divided in between years/playsessions... yeah im fine in paying a bit more for a "top class" product considering the PS3 is a hobby
