PS3 Source Code For Rebug's Toolbox Released

Joonie, team member of Rebug, dropped by the forum with a very nice surprise for scene developers. In a prompt response to a post he had announced that the source code for team Rebug's Toolbox was about to be released. Shortly after that the developer posted a link to the announcement from their website, there you can read a post from developer Evilsperm and grab the source code for Rebug Toolbox.[break].[/break] Evilsperm also mentions in the post that we can look forward to more goodies from the team as they will be releasing more tools of theirs. These tools are said to be tools used to create Rebug custom firmware.

This all started 6 years ago when the PS3 was finally cracked. At first we had the PSgroove dongles. I (evilsperm) contacted Cyberskunk and a new friendship was born. We worked to bring debug settings to the dongles at the time. Yes we succeeded (and pissed off lots of other devs because they couldnt pir8 off devnet anymore). Than we were graced by the likes of Fail 0ver Flow, Geohot, Grafchokolo/glevand, and the entire PS3DEV team (the list is long). After F0F released the first 1/2 of the keys to the kingdom Geohot stepped in and put the last piece of the puzzle together, and here we are today SIX YEAR LATER! (amazing how time goes by so fast) READ MORE...

MiniGW, $ony SDK (don't ask for help here), scetool, psn_package_npdrm. Maybe psl1ght v2 (not sure here... I just have it installed).

Edit: this is only for toolbox, not for all pkgs.

This is the team at its prime :)
The realease foes NOT mean they are going anywhere,..

Yeah but usually when a great team like rebug release sources they are decreasing/ending activity , I didn't say they will quit at all but I expect very rare updates from this point . And I understand them , they worked a lot for the PS3 scene and made absolutely great things FOR FREE , also they mentioned in that post they have families , childrens and other life things that must be taken care of .

The modding on PS3 has already reached its limits in my honest opinion , we can only expect bug-fixes and minor updates , is almost a 10 years old console and 6 years since is jailbroken . Rebug team did the hard work , now they are only "polishing" the things they released so I think that's why they released sources so other talented people could do the "polish" further .

If there ever will be a CFW for PS4 , I hope to see Rebug there . :)

Respect REBUG team !

Nah just look at what has happened since just 4.65, easy CEX/DEX convert, RTM added, ProGD fully working with Cobra, CFW Tools added, XMBM+ added, Cobra payload is now perfect and I am sure more to come. Every new firmware has added more and more features.

Big breakthrough flashless dex convert, allthough should back them up anyway for those that never do lol,

Hi all

i would like translate the toolbox in german language and i have made a little mod in toolbox src to make it easy to translate it :D
The new "toolbox_lang.h" is inside the include forder, there is also a german translated file (eng-ger_toolbox_lang.h).

Maybe someone can use this for other languages. Enjoys

Good work!

And sorry for not being able to help you on this as I promised... Anyway I'm sure Zar has been more helpful than I would have been.
