PS VITA / PS TV Team molecule New Teaser Video: Shows HENkaku on System Boot (CFW or NOT? That is the question)

Evolution continues as some serious progression appears on the horizon for HENkaku user's on firmware 3.60. As a new video shared from Yifan Lu of Team Molecule (creators of HENkaku / TaiHEN) which shows the group is back at it with a new release we will see on the 29th of July. In the teaser video the team showcases HENkaku/TaiHEN active on system boot (unlike having to be launched after system boot currently) and as a little extra spice the team shows what appears to be a custom coldboot modification as well. Is this the progression of a HEN maturing into the first true Custom Firmware for PS Vita & PlayStation TV devices? On the surface it appears that is a possibility as the video teases a bit, but until more details are learned I would caution calling it anything such as CFW, but one thing is for sure this is from a legitimate group that brought us the original hacks and come late July we should have more details with I am sure some teaser and information will arise in between.

@atreyu187 sent me a text about this. we both think that the core os, named F00D, has been comprised. btw @STLcardsWS , thanks for giving @kozarovv the developer moniker. I thought I'd have to do a write in campaign for him. I've told him many times that he should be one. he certainly knows a lot about many systems. he's just too humble to accept it unless u force it on him. :-P

Lol, imagine that. 29.07.2017 everyone going to ensō site, youtube video is still there next to big button "Ensō". Click on button, yes it is! One moment and you can see great piece of software, well explained, and ready for download and your usage... You see nice tutorial how to enable and setup custom boot logo while waking device from suspend state. :biggrin2:

That would be a cruel prank!!!

What is also intersting is what richdevx says further down the feed, anyone see any of that?

About the reproducing of the Blackfin SD card adapter awaiting an open source release?

I think there was a time when you made mention of it or someone else also did also, At the time there was a small conflict with permissions i was fixing, then i addressed it and sadly it left my mind for awhile about his status. Sorry @kozarovv , then just reading his various post and guides recently it quickly put it back to mind. Kozzy is a huge asset to the community, his advice / guides / knowledge has helped many and he is one hell of a guy as well :)

About this release, i almost dislike the teaser video. I rather of seen this announcement closer to the release date, but i guess there is no fun in that ;) .. I wonder how far along the project is .. Looks like we are in store for some good things that is for sure.

From what I understand speaking to a BETA tester it still relies on a hardware modification but can be a software only hack. But I do know this hack is how they got the PSN passphrase and appreantly can be replicated to obtain again quiet easily unless a hardware revision was released. And since the Vita has been pulled from US stores for quiet some time and even now removed from Sony's Japanese website this will never happen.

Just to note about HW in the video, so no one is confused about that .

I've heard that the hardware in the video is used for debugging and not part of the hack. I can neither confirm or deny that however. it's mentioned on my site, so I'd have to relook at the source.

edit: oops, I didn't see that quote. :-P

well, enso means circle in Japanese but it's probably relating "full circle" in this case if it's going to be one year's old.

no where he talks about his own findings and is working on having it shrunk down, and getting the equipment to mass produce it. This is what i would like. Micro sd to vita card adapter

There is no way it can be an I thermal adapter is my only issue. Anyone recall the ludacris PSP devices back when the largest MS DUO was 2gb and they were charging (and getting a ton of sales I might add) the 4gb HDD devices?
