PS3 [TuT] How to sign in on OFW 4.81 or 4.82 & activate your system

Ok, i got it to work, the problem was i needed to update to 4.82, so i did and everything worked as it should, now i just need to install HAN. Thanks everyone!

if you need 4.82 OFW you can see PSDevWiki

in download section there are many region download link and to check MD5 of pup file cause there are people exist that upload 4.83 ofw or 4.84 ofw as a 4.82 ofw and those who download it and install will lose their exploit capabilities... meaning no HAN no free DLCs no PS1,PS2,PSP,PSN Games that didn't exist in Disc format etc....

You might want to check that, the region links are dead links as they are direct downloads from the PSN Servers ans S@ny have removed the 4.82 PUP file from the servers. The mirror link above the regions is the only download link on that page that works as the PUP is hosted on a third party cloud server.

What do you mean "Free DLC's"?? Very few game's have free DLC. If you are downloading DLC that you normally would pay for off the PSN Servers for free, from third party places then this is Piracy, simple as.

And the only "free DLC" is the DLC that come's with the retail game, either on discs, normally special edition and GOTY eds and bundled with PSN Digital versions of these editions.

i mean he will not use DLC as free cause with HAN and signed DLC they are much like free that's why i said that ;)

I am also in 4.81 same issues
couldnt get to psn
it asks to update to 4.84
If i try proxy, DNS etc it throws error
Please help

As you can see above he updated to 4.82 from 4.81 and then it worked.I think you must update to 4.82.In the proxy server guide it is stated that works on 4.82.

i'm on 4.82, and when i try to sign-in using a throw-away account i've created i'm getting error 80710723. i've tried wireless, and wired. i've tried in and out of DMZ. i've tried using a static IP. i've turned off WMM. i've made sure there's no QoS or traffic shaping enabled. i've rebooted both my PC and my PS3 multiple times, and am making sure to run the proxy as admin. i've double-checked i'm entering my PC IP address into the proxy, and selecting PS3 Mode. Everything i've tried so far is giving me the same 80710723 error.

Any suggestions?

Is there any specific reason why you're still on 4.82? If not, you could just update to 4.84 (which is exploitable with HFW) and that would eliminate the need for a proxy server.
 
i honestly have no idea. i was trying to follow the The Great PS3Xploit V3.0 HAN AIO Guide and was trying to use the proxy so my system would stop trying to auto update to whatever the current version is. i think it's all a moot point though because i just checked my system using the MinVerChk PS3UPDAT.PUP and it says "Update data version of 4.25 or later can be installed," which means (if i'm reading correctly) none of this will work on my PS3, right? If so, sorry for wasting your time. :blue:

You can safely update to 4.84 and still use HAN. :) See this thread for details on that. As your MinVerChk result is above 3.56, this means that only HAN is available to you (and not CFW). You're not wasting anybody's time, by the way. :)
 
So, i would let the system install the official update like normal, and can then continue on from there? Or, would i instead use the link near the bottom of that thread that says Download link (MEGA) : HFW_4.84.2_PS3UPDAT.PUP, and install that via my USB stick?

Sorry...i'm a bit paranoid about bricking my system, even though it's just been gathering dust in the closet...
