[TuT] Setting up PS2 PlaceHolder REBUG Edition (Controller Sync Fix for PS2 Games on nonBC Consoles

When mounting PS2 classics with the placeholder I still have Controller problems and can't connect.
Please help.

And after restoring default settings my PS3 shuts down when launching a classic.

you didnt set up ps2 classics properly
what you can do is that you mount the classic through multiman cfw mode and run it(it will create mem card for you)

Im confused with all this. Right now im on 4.70 Rebug Cfw(Non BC) and i load all my ps2 isos from Webman from the xmb

They all work fine execpt i cant use a wireless controller

So i know this "placeholder" method fixes that. My question is does it involve me having to convert all of my isos to this placeholder format?? While i would love to play my ps2 isos with a wireless controller it's not THAT much of a deal for me to sit here and convert all of them(Have about 30 all together)

Or is there someway i can load the isos i already have on my ps3 and play them with a wireless controller using this method?

No the REBUG placholder is designed to handle ISO or the PS2 Classic format.

For ISO if you play via the disc icon you will not have wireless support. Using placeholder you will have wireless support.

So can i just load the isos i already have through this "placeholder" and use wireless support?

Or do i have to convert them??

all you have to do is convert one iso for initial support then all other isos will play file just as they are

I also noticed that after a first install, I needed to first run a classics for having ISOs running properly afterwards.

I honestly do not think i had to. I could be wrong (most likely I am, my memory sucks here lately ) . I know many have to, but i do not have any PS2 Classic converts. I prefer ISO (since cobra) and i do not recall making one for this when i was testing it

here we have it!
finally a user friendly ps2 iso launcher and cfw

REMOVED BY ADMIN (CONTAINS COMMERCIAL GAME)

instructions:
1.activate ps2 classic placeholder through psnpatch or reactpsn and install this pkg
2.run it and maintain sync
3.now onwards when you mount iso, run the placeholder icon and iso will be loaded

this pkg includes pre-added memory cards as well

so, are we done?

P.S:@STLcardsWS i prefer original pic of this pkg to eliminate rap and the name confusion, if any

supported cfw:
1.Habib 4.70 cobra 7.10 v1.02
2.(theoretical compati)Rebug 4.70.1 with cobra on joonies github (compilation required)(CEX only-dex requires a patch)

good to see! Is this to be expected on new rebug if/should a new OFW come out?

i have no contacts with joonie
im the one responsible for new stuff and some more technical stuff
it should be there in next release

the iso launcher still does a benefit to current rebug but classic_ps2 flag thing is annoying(webman-mod is used for this atm)

I have been testing an unofficial updated version of it for someone that requires the encrypted memory cards. It also syncs up to 4 controllers. I wasn't sure if this was the same, or different :)

If classic_ps2 flag isnt required, then it is the same and this can be used as per instructions

It sounds like your version includes the memory card VME files as well, which was something that makes it alot easier for the avg end user (and in this case myself as well) with the save game thing.
It's literally only 2 steps away from how it was in 4.46 when ps2 on non-bc was more functional. darn sony and their 4.5+ updates :/

I removed the package habib as it violates the rules. (with the included game).

I think using the old pics adds more confusion then anything IMO (with everything pointing to classics and not being no different then the original (the pics). So when installed you really have no idea what it is installed or someone unless they themselves installed it would not know its even an ISO laucnher. which you see people all the time who setup up things for other people.. Then, apps like PSNpatch will activate the placeholder easily (which i would suggest using rather then ReActPSN). I think overall keeping the pics the same adds the most confusion IMHO..
