PS3HEN [Tutorial] [PS3HEN] The Great Ps3 HEN All in One Guide

Are you enabling HAN Flash Mount?

Your probs better off using the HEN Auto Install option (Method 1) as this is very very easy and simple

I tried method 1 once but it failed, but with your advice I tried again after clearing cookies and double checking that confirm browser close was set to off and it worked.

Thank you for the advice and thank you again for the guide!

Hi...
I have PS3 Super Slim 500GB (CECH-4003C), and the installed update is 4.85

first of all, thanks for the tutorial,
second, i can't install any update, even in the recovery mode, it says "the data is curropted 8002f997", and when i formatted the usb and downloaded the update again, it says "no applicable update data was found".

not sure but maybe the problem's from the usb, and if it is, how can i fix it?

Things to check:
Is your usb formatted to fat32 with MBR? (Not GPT)
Have you renamed the update correctly? (PS3UPDAT.PUP)
If update is corrupt, check with MD5. If corrupt, redownload and recheck MD5

I forgot to say, after i formatted the usb, whenever i try to install HFW update in recovery mode i get this message:
"A serious error has occurred
Contract technical support for assistance
(8002F2CF)"

OK, if you have another usb flash drive handy, try that. Possibly incompatible USB flash drive although it's unlikely....

MD5 files are used to check file integrity. You use a program and a corrosponding MD5 file to check that the file is not corrupt, possibly during download.

Try another USB and try redownloading the update

I followed your advice, and it turned out that the problem was really from my USB,
so i used another one (SanDisk Cruzer Blade) and it worked!

but the only problem i had that some homebrew are locked as "Parental Control Restricted Content", even though i didn't turn up the parental control in the first place, is there any solution for that?

Anyways, thanks a lot!
(and sorry for the late answer)

Turn parantal level off. Or lowest setting. Been a while since I messed with anything parental control related

Hello, I want to install an iso game, but I have a question:
Is there a way to synchronize trophies earned in those games with PSN, like you can with BRD backups?

Hi. Thank you for the amazing guide, it helped a lot during PS3HEN exploit installation. Did anyone manage to play SNES or GBA roms running PS3HEN 4.85.1 exploit? webMAN's PKG/Rom Launcher is giving me a black screen followed by a return to XMB. I placed the roms in the dev_hdd0\ROMS\GBA or dev_hdd0\ROMS\SNES in the respective .gba and .sfc formats.

1>Im having a small issue with my package installer after i installed HEN, It showed up but whenever i go to install packages It doesnt show anything. The PS3 is detecting the thumb drive and it is formatted to FAT32. while in "INSTALL PACKAGES" i can hit the Triangle Button and get the option to install all packages and i can hit that and it will install every pkg on the drive. Why cant i see them so i can pick and choose what to install? Also i can see them on multiman and webman mod without issue.

2>I installed HEN TOOLBOX and after that it rebooted the PS3 and when it came back on it was nowhere to be found. It also messed with my HEN ENABLER, before, I could click the egg and it would bring up the green spinning box saying it was enabling, now it opens up a white web page that says ENABLING HEN at the top left corner and it doesnt do anything after that it just sits there for as long as i will let it. If i exit out of the browser page it freezes and i have to manually reboot the system. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Danny

Packages are on root of USB, and HEN toolbox is now the latest 1. SO the toolbox problem is solved, thanks for that. But i still have no packages showing up. and with the toolbox i double checked again, its not finding packages on hdd0/. Thanks again on the toolbox issue.

Im also still having the issue with Enabling HEN, the only way i can get it to enable is to go to PS3Xploits site and click on the HEN installer *Fixed* and re-initialize and install. I live out in a rural area where internet is scarce, and having to go online and wait for it to enable is really a PITA.

Thanks

iirc, packages on the hdd go in the packages folder, not the root.

edit: this is what it looks like on rebug, which I assume is comparable with hen:
<Query class="type:x-xmb/xmlpackagefolder" key="host_provider_hdd0" src="host://localhost/q?path=/dev_hdd0/packages&suffix=.pkg&subclass=x-host/package"/>

why not ftp instead of package linker? webman, multiman, rebug toolbox, movian and others have ftp builtin.

package linker was used before hen because we didnt have ftp.

I was talking about the root of my thumb drive, just to transfer them from my pc to my PS3. But as far as the package folder of the hdd its empty and so is the PKG

Did you install any XMB mods like HAN/HEN toolbox? These have not been updated to support the latest HFW/HEN.

Edit: Looks like in your previous post you mentioned installing HEN toolbox, that's the root of the issue.

I dont have a steady or consistent internet connection. Living in a rural area, its really expensive and super slow. Im currently using my phone to tether a 4G connection but its unreliable. On the other hand its faster and cheaper than any local broadband connection i can get.

I did install HEN Toolbox, It just wasnt the latest version. After i installed the newest one it fixed my enabling problem. It was late and I was tired so after I installed it I forgot to check the enabler to see if it corrected the problem. It did!!! Now if someone can help me with why my package installer isnt recognizing packages, Ill be all set!

Thanks everyone for your help.

Can you take a screenshot on your PC to show how your USB looks?
