I have to step in now because @esc0rtd3w has said repeatedly he's don'e helping you with this. Do some research and testing, if you show that you're putting in some effort and trying to learn people will be more than happy to help but you can't expect to be spoon-feed.
You have been around enough to know how we do things :playful:

The github. You had asked about templates, I may be wrong but I think he posted the pett template site to show you some they have.
I don't have all the answers you need I'm just here to try to stop any problems before they get out of hand. It's nothing against you if I saw you told someone you were done helping them & they kept tagging you with more questions I would try to step in then too.
 
There might be a misunderstanding here that needs clarified.
This is a thread to help those wishing to learn more about ROPing on the PS3.
The tutorial requires some basic programming skills & a prior understanding of debugging techniques. It's a tutorial thread & the provided support is meant to be limited to questions related to completing this tutorial.

People wishing to use the tutorial files as tools for other purposes are basically on their own from a support point of view.
I would suggest creating new threads to debate or query other users who may be able to help.
 
Yup, this is a thread about learning ROP on PS3. the very first line in OP states that it is for developers and curious people.

The first 9 videos as well as the Porting To Lower FW videos will guide anyone through the process, in debugger, all the way up to creating your own ROP chains in JS, using file copy operations, and other syscalls.

All of the exercise files for each video are included for each with links on YouTube page. The latest exercise files (now PETT) and stage2 Debug COBRA files are referenced in OP as well.

the videos are not finished, due to lack of time, but may be finished one day :)

To be perfectly clear, this is a ROP tutorial which you said you were not interested in following & you have been told several times that you do not have the necessary skills to modify its files to suit your aims anyway. You need to learn some basics first, you can't run before you can walk kinda thing.
Nobody will spoon feed you the answers you need and/or edit the tutorial files to your specs in this thread, it's not its purpose.

esc0rtd3w was extremely clear about not helping you further & there is no point begging him again in future posts as those would get deleted just like your last post was.
Please, do not bother him by private messaging because he doesn't answer in this thread, PMs are not appropriate either.

Having said all this, your queries are still perfectly legitimate which is why you should consider creating your own thread imho, discuss your needs with others & find out whether they have already been addressed out there. It's quite likely that other people hold the answers you seek, maybe even some modded files ready to use.

Sorry about my noob question, but this works on OFW? I want to create a symbolic link of a file (dev_hdd0/game/BLUS00000/someFile.dat) to (dev_hdd0/game/BLUS00000DATA/someFile.dat). I saw that I need to be on DEX. Is it very dangerous or, if something wrong occurs, Am I able to revive the ps3? (I'm not affraid with possible data loss...)

Good question. I did some testing a bit on 4.82 CEX. Didn't experience any issues other than I couldn't get it working properly. The syscalls work, if I remember correctly, using exploit. I imagine that you can always restore OFW in recovery mode, if problems arise.

Great, I already pulled it from git. I will start to watch the tutorial right now. Thanks. :D
